21/09/12 our party of 7 including 2 disabled arrive at Cala Gran caravan good clean 8.10pm electric went off reported it 8.40pm smell of gas demanded someone to come out. 10pm and many phone calls someone came turned electric on without checking the gas,said he would change the gas bottle IF we wanted him to.Still smelt of gas we got moved to another caravan at 11pm asked to report to reception at 9am in the morning.Did that told we could stay there till Monday.Then told no go back to first... Accomodation- dirty on arrival, after reporting it 4 times someone finally turned up. By then had cleaned the worst up ourselves. It said it was suitable for upto 8 people. With 4 adults and 3 children it was far too small. Not near anything- no shops walking distance or resturants. There is a small farm cafe near by which does do nice lunches. The park was very clean and all the staff was always happy and glad to help.We spent a week in a holiday home that was nothing short of luxurious.There was a bus stop at the site gates to go into Blackpool or Fleetwood. Food and Entertainment on site was the best we have been to this site 3 times now and we have not regretted repeat bookings yet to give you an idea of the service we got the heater in the bathroom was not working. we reported it and in half a hour there was a new one put in.... this was our 2nd year at cala gran the 1st year was out of season but far better. Our accomodation was fantastic however there was a carpet in the bathroom/shower area which i found a little off putting. If you are going make sure you take all your cash with you as you are charged to withdraw money from the atm on site there is only 2. Just returned from our 2nd visit to Cala Gran and we had a wonderful time. can't believe some of the comments on here, but maybe these people are used to 5 star all inclusive holidays to the carribean. It's Haven and its England for gods sake, what would you expect. Admittedly the site isn't the best Haven site but it certainly isn't the worst. I stayed at Cala Gran last July with 3 young children (they were then 7 years and 8 month twins) and we had a lovely time!
I read all the review sites before we booked and since a lot of complaints seemed to be about the state of the Haven owned caravans we booked a private caravan and it was absolutely fantastic - caravans have certainly improved since I was little, very spacious, good facilities and most important of all clean! (I would highly recommend using the caravan owned by Joanne...

We've just returned from Cala Gran, got it at a bargain price of £139 for 4 adults and 2 kids, luxury 8berth caravan. The park is much smaller than we expected, but is only 6 miles from Blackpool, easy to get to by car, and the bus stop is right outside the park. Our caravan was lovely, very modern, great size and was spotlessly clean. have just got back from a week at cala gran and thoroughly enjoyed it. thought the funstars were great(all 5 of them) and entertained the kids perfectly. the shows like the live band on the friday made it feel like a different night out.
Plenty to do off the site but not great if you don't have a car and if you do drive into blackpool its at least a fiver to park.

PLEASE READ ALL OF REVIEW. Haven Cala Gran need to check their cleaning staff out, as they are most certainly not doing their job or they are not employing enough staff. Check out is 10AM and Check in is 4PM, this gives them 6 hours to clean their caravans, I can appreciate they have a lot of caravans to clean but surely at the prices they charge they can afford enough staff to clean them. Cala Gran Holiday Park at Fleetwood was filthy. There was not a lot to do with young children (5yrs and 2yrs). Play park very poor. Did not attempt to go in the pool due to general poor standards of cleanliness around whole park. Found the restaurant, bar and shops expensive and poor value for money. Even the laundrette was grubby! A lot of flies around the park (staff member told me this was due to the city dump close by - nice!). Have been to other Haven parks and they have been great.... We were due to check in at 4pm but the evening before we got a phone call to say we could check in anytime after 11 as our caravan was ready, this suited us perfectly as we had 3 young children with us and could get them settled for an afternoon nap. We are a family of 4, our children are 2 and 4. We stayed at Cala Gran 10 to 17 May 2010. I would not go back neither recomend to anyone. It is not walkable to anywhere so basically on a night there is nowhere to walk to.
Entertainment repetitive, funworks a rip off!! Too many machines costing money. Swimming pool very small, fine if it isn't busy which isn't often!! Park not very well equipped! shop very overpriced, its a Spar, they even charge 5p for carrier bags..how many spars do...

Just returned from a 4 night mid-week break at Cala Gran, Haven which was booked last minute. Although there are mixed reviews about this park, I have to say we had a pleasant and relaxing time.
Positives
The caravan. The best we'd ever stopped in. Very modern and up-to-date fixtures and fittings. Lots of space for all of us. Good location on the park too.
The weather. Every British holiday is better with good weather. We'd have been a bit stuck without it and unable to experience...

we stayed here at the cala gran fleetwood for a mon -fri break, and after reading other reviews we were a bit hesitant, we didnt do the upgrade offered and we were amazed at the caravan given, it was spotless, and huge!! compared to other sites/ caravans.
the staff are brilliant, they are polite and friendly and only too willing to help, the kids love the whole rory, bradley thing, and i found that cala gran didnt push the goods as much as other sites, which was good for us..

We have just returned from a 7 day holiday - we actually booked mon to fri for £115 and Fri to Mon for £164 - total £280 - to book as a mon to Mon was £480!?!?
When we got there the caravan was quite small but we had been upgraded to a 2010 model caravan so was very clean.
STAFF - very nice and Fun Stars were the best I have seen, very good with the children.
ATTRACTIONS - Farmer Parrs farm within walking distance which is £15 for a family ticket 2 ad & 2 chd tickets - nice...

I've just returned from spending Easter Week at Cala Gran in Fleetwood. We had a lovely time and would certainly return to the park again. Like all our Haven experiences, you get what you pay for and we knew it would be basic accommodation. However we were pleasantly surprised by our caravan, which was a 3 bedroom standard plus (46 Wyre Court on the complex). I was very disappointed to discover on arrival that the caravan was only big enough for 2 grown adults even though they knew there were 3 adults and 2 children. I did explain to reception that i had a baby so needed room for a cot but she was very unhelpful and did not offer to change our caravan therefore our time at calagran was spent in very cramped and uncomfortable conditions. We have just returned from a 4 day break at cala gran haven holiday park .We stayed in a deluxe caravan which was not too bad I suppose apart from the carpet being absolutely filthy .One thing I would definately recommend if you are going at this time of year is to take a heater as there were so many drafts in the van that even with the gas fire on full we could see our breath not good when you have 2 young children :( it wasnt so bad after we purchased a heater from Tesco .

Stayed at haven marton mere site july 09 for 3 nights have to say the the food in the place was horrible the tables where not clean the childrens high chairs we're a disgrace really dirty booked a superior plus caravan when we arrived had smarties lying on the very dirty carpet and socks from the previous customers left lying, the showbar was very busy couldnt get a seat and when you did the tables wobbled and your drinks went flying very disappointing wouldnt recommend rip off really (read more)

We all stayed in a prestige caravan, 4 adults and 4 children and we had a brilliant time. The pool isnt ideal for small children but if you go at a quieter time its fine. We would definitely go back next year for a short break. (read more)

myself and partner spent friday to monday 18-23 september in a superior plus caravan for £99 at Cala Gran. Got no transport so got to blackpool by coach, caught no 14 bus to Haven caravan site (took about 25 mins).Really easy to find and bus stops outside gates for blackpool or fleetwood the other side of road. Caravan was brill, nice n clean, 3 bedrooms, shower was the best ever out of any caravan we have used, Full size cooker, fridge, freezer and microwave, combi boiler and centrall... (read more)

We(3 of us, myself, husband and baby) have just come back from a stay at the cala gran haven site, we stayed in a prestige caravan which was lovely and spacious, very clean and tidy. We enjoyed the show of Bradley bear on the night time, my four month old baby was loving it! The only thing we did not like was the pool, to small and overcrowded to take our baby to. We ventured into fleetwood which we really enjoyed (small fishing town) , lots of character! Would definitely recommend this... (read more)
