This site is absolutely Abraham Lincoln (stinkin!) and I wouldn't recommend anyone to go there. I was joking with my wife asking her if the beds in the 'superior plus' caravan were waterbeds as the condensation dripping from the windows left the very bed linen damp. The coldness in the caravan was a serious health risk to our young kids and the I can only describe the whole van as disgusting. As for the park in general I can't really comment as we decided after one day in the park to go A.W.O.L and drive to Blackpool etc. My lasting memory of the park was my two year old daughter's comment as she entered the toilets in the cafe/resturant: 'Dad this place stinks of pee pee (urine). I would not recommend this park to anyone - especially in October!

Lakelands Holiday Resort. I booked a 3-night last minute break yesterday on the spur of the moment and paid £180 for a premium caravan. It was only later that I took the time to read the reviews and quite frankly considered not even going because they were so bad. In the end however I bit the bullet and loaded the wife and 3 kids into the car but tried to warn them that it might be bad. Well, it turns out that it's fine!! Check-in - Friendly / Efficient. Caravan - spotless / has centra ...

I have just returned from Lakeland after a 3 night break with my husband and 4 year old daughter and we all had a great time. After reading several awful reviews about the place I did seriously consider cancelling but my daughter was so excited about seeing all the characters I just couldn't break her heart..I'm so glad I didn't cancel cos we had a fantastic time not even the wind and the rain spoilt it! If you go I would recommend that you went to the South Lakes Wild Animal Park..AMAZING PLAC ...

Got a £9.50 deal from the Sun & ended up having to pay abour £55 for 2 people (including power charges). Had read the Lakeland reviews before I went so was not looking forward to it. However, was pleasantly suprised - caravan was clean & tidy, everything worked fine, on-site bar was cheap & cheerful, site looked clean & well kept, and best of all in was sunny all weekend.

I don't often write reviews but in this case I felt I had too.
I recently booked a 4 night break (Aug 10th-14th 2009) at Lakeland Holiday Park. We booked a Superior 3 bedroom caravan for myself, Husband, 2 young boys aged 6 & 3yrs & my Mum 79yrs. I have to say I am a fan of Haven and have stayed at quite a few sites over the years and the children really love them too even my Mum. I usually do a search for reviews before I book just to help me make the right decision. This time however we had d ...

I would recommend people to go to Haven Holidays Lakeland, as it is fantastic. All of the workers were very helpful and friendly. The food in the cafe is excellent and the chipshop is also quite nice. It was a indoor and outdoor swimming pool which are really big and wasn't too deep. The arcade is okay its not exactly big but it will do. The entertainment is amazing , all the funstars were great with the dances and very energetic. It has all different game shows on each night witch are very funn ...

We paid for a superior plus caravan, we wondered if the plus mean't +dirt? The caravan was tiny, and filthy, the floors were caked in mud, the beds, quilts and pillows we're filthy, and the tv didn't work. One day we returned to the caravan to find another family had been given the key to our caravan, as the park was overbooked.
The food in the caf was substandard, some of it being okay, the rest I wouldn't give to a dog.
The evening entertainment wasn't up to much, I found myself preferring t ...

After reading many negative views about Haven Holidays Lakeland park, I almost never booked, but then decided that it was better to learn from my own experience rather than other peoples experiences. I'm so glad I ignored the reviews and went ahead and booked as me and my children had a fantastic time camping here.
The person who booked me in at the touring reception was very chatty, friendly and helpful. The touring area itself was very clean and well maintained as were the toilets in the touri ...

    Completely Gross
    Lakeland site Heaven Holidays
i booked a holiday for a superior caravan for 4 nights and i had to cut it short to two nights. the caravans are filthy and the entertainment is simply waste of time. the place needs extreme makeover and upgrading and when you see people giving it no stars please don't ignore. this is one of the worst sites i have seen and the staff is very very tired looking and also very very rude. worst holiday thanks to heaven holidays. they spoilt my most awiat ...

Dreadful.... don't go there. Food horrendous (salad leaves brown but still served up). Only other option is a chippy! We ate out everynight. Had 3 vans in 4 days. First ... uninhabitable. Had booked superior plus! This had mould growing up the curtains, 2 sofas that looked and smelt like they'd come from a skip,a shower cubicle with mould like I've never seen and a loo brush which could only have had an encounter with a seriously ill elephant!. Complained and had to downgrade as they had ...

My husband and I have just returned from weeks stay at Lakeland with our 4 year old boys. We stayed in a prestige caravan which was lovely however the site in general was very disappointing, apart from the new pool the whole place seemed run down and past its sell by date. Shop - over priced and understocked. Fast food - over priced. Bar/cafe - again over priced for the quality and beware the breakfast eggs! Play park was closed until the Thursday morning, trampolines opened once in the week a ...

We went camping on 29th June for 5 nights, were horrorfied when we read reviews, however, have to say we had a fantastic time, camp site was lovely, no problems at all, showers and toilets, nothing special, but clean enough and plenty of hot water. Warden was really friend and helpful. Swimming pools were clean and well supervised, bar ok, if a little under staffed. Shope was rather expensive, well worth a trip into Grange over Sands for provisions!

All in all, we arrived expecting the worst, ...

Just returned from most fantastic holiday. Had hours of fun with 3 year old granddaughter whose favorite place in the world is lakeland. Swimming pool like a warm bath with doors opening onto a lovely veranda. The entertainment was brilliant for the children and goes on most of the day with events such as its a knockout and family rounders taking place regularly. Children can take part in a making biscuits and novelty cakes. We were worried that 2 weeks may be too long after reading reviews b ...

i have just returned from lakeland holiday park with my family, we stayed from friday til the monday.although the weather was a big factor as it rained most of the time and it was cold i found this site a little run down. we had booked a prestigue caravan which to say the least was anything but prestigue, we have stayed on similar sites before and paying the top price for our caravan we expected a lot more for our money, the caravan was very basic and more like a standard caravan, the dvd did no ...

just got back from 4 day stay at Haven Holidays Lakeland and would never return and would defiently not recommend it to anyone.there was not enough to do for the kids, the kids clubs were only on in the morning then nothing in the afternoon, except spend spend spend! there was a bouncy castle and trampoline for the kids to go on that cost £1.50 each for 15 minutes and ther was never any staff around to open them.we actually ended up coing home a day early because our caravan was infested w ...

This place has got to be the dirtiest, least maintained place I have ever stayed. I wouldn't stay here for free even if I was offered. We arrived and the campsite was a complete bog. It was raining lightly but we had to pitch our tent in 2 inch deep puddles. The site is in desperate need of drainage. There are also unsightly skips dotted about the site which are just unsightly. the toilets on the campsite were disgusting. On several occasiond there were faeces on the floor or sick down teh walls ...

Staff unhelpful, we travelled by train ended up in the middle of no where. Staff had no local knowledge and unable to help with public transport information. First night waited for 25min to put food order in at bar to find out they did not have what we wanted, we then when to the chip shop which was not open, told we would get hotdogs at the bar got there to be told not open for another 15 mins. By this time it was nearly 7pm we set off from home at 8.30am and by 7pm were very hungry and tired. ...

My view is you get what you spend, we thought we had a bargain as on special deal when we booked, what we got was no special deal. Just a run down tired looking holiday complex. Miles from anywhere i would not go there again.
