Good Points: Clean caravan
Bad Points: Kids club, staff, food or lack of service
General comments: Staff unhelpful, we travelled by train ended up in the middle of no where. Staff had no local knowledge and unable to help with public transport information. First night waited for 25min to put food order in at bar to find out they did not have what we wanted, we then when to the chip shop which was not open, told we would get hotdogs at the bar got there to be told not open for another 15 mins. By this time it was nearly 7pm we set off from home at 8.30am and by 7pm were very hungry and tired. Kids club a joke given a mask to colour in and told to take there time, my 4 yr old ran riot nobody tried to amuse him.
Lake district a lovely place the locals lovely people could not have been nicer, Haven just don't care anymore, seem to just want your money, 4 nights cost us £179.

My view is you get what you spend, we thought we had a bargain as on special deal when we booked, what we got was no special deal. Just a run down tired looking holiday complex. Miles from anywhere i would not go there again.

Enjoyed our holiday but wouldn't go there again simply because it was in the middle of no where!But if you don't leave the park and want peace and quiet I would recommend staying here!

We have just returned from a 5 day stay in a tent at Lakeland and would never go back. There were only 3 working showers for women which were either freezing or boiling and totally unsuitable for kids. The toilets were filthy and no toilet roll and were hardly ever cleaned. There were rats running around the camping fields and the warden was either not on site or didn't want to know. This is the worse site we have ever visited. Toilets filthy and damaged. Skips not emptied when full, the smell was awful. Show bar no air conditioning, do not go in July/Aug. Tables and chairs shabby and dirty. Dining area filthy. Pool area dirty. Site warden no where to be found when there is a problem. Management do not seem interested in trying to sort out problems.

friendly site staff at Lakeland, Haven. Appalling toilet facilities for touring caravans & campers, toilets were filthy and in places broken fittings. Some electrical supplies to tourers were only 6 amp not 16 which is the accepted norm. The above review is based on a 1 week visit to the site, a return visit is highly unlikely

I was disappointed with the camping area here. Obviously a 5 year old isn't concerned with these issues, and had a wonderful time, but think carefully beforehand folks. Poor campsite - we were left to pitch a large tent with barely any room for it. So much for booking a space. Poor leisure complex.

The Lakeland is a dreadful Site if you are touring with a caravan and almost unthinkable if you are in a tent. Please, please please consider my experiences and all those who, like me, were complaining to the management about the hideous state of the toilet block without any effect. I have also complained to the South Lakeland Council environmental health department about some of the things that were too dreadful to be mentioned here.

1. Showbar doesn't have heating - so only go in there in the middle of summer.
2. Fish & Chip shop shut all holiday due to "Technical problems".
3. Only other eating place - The Aqua bar, Grill was broken so no steaks, hardly any choice. (All frozen food, brought in).
4. Management should have brought in more heaters and blankets for this time of year. We were told "None left", we were just left to freeze all weekend. They didn't really look after us.

We have just come back from the Lake land site, we only stayed for 3 days but as this is only a small Haven site, it was enough . We had a good time whilst we were there ,the Silver caravan was very clean and spacious (worth the upgrade).
The facilities were decent but not brilliant, but the indoor pool was very poor the changing area was a shambles, but the outdoor pool looked fine.

We booked a silver caravan, expecting a little comfort and space. What we actually got was a basic caravan with lots of faults. We told the site well before leaving home that 2 members of our party were 'disabled', one having a physical disability and thus not been able to walk far and the other has autism. We went because it was cheap, but never again! spent nearly £600 on a week and on 3 out of six mornings there was not enough water for us to wash. We were so fed up we left a day early and drove more than 300 miles in an afternoon to get home. Complained twice about the water and received various excuses about pressure etc - nothing was done.
