Good Points: The entertainment, the friendly staff, plenty to do if it rains, the complex is great and the indoor pool was nice and warm
Bad Points: The supermarket is expenisve and not worth buying food or drinks in there. Local newspaper is late in
General comments: We came to Haven's Haggerston Castle on Monday 24th September for 5 days and the welcome was great. The evening entertainment was brilliant. We found that bingo was expenisve and we found drinks were fine as prices were in the bar. We have plans to keep in touch with the funworks entertainment staff as they made us welcome. The breakfast in the complex is nice and we did find Haggerston Castle more to do if it rains. Which it did when we were there. We found Berwick which is 8 miles up the road was disappointed. We wont stop others from using the shops in Berwick. But they do have some good supermarkets. Bingo is about £2.50p a game. We would be visiting Haggerston Castle in the near future

I have mixed feelings about Haggerston Castle, I think the location is quite boring for a young family, obviously this is my personal opinion as there doesn't seem to be much to do in Northumberland apart from walking and I certainly think spending all day on the site would get boring.
I was not very impressed with the site and certainly wouldn't rate it with 5 stars. From the Haven website I was expecting much more from the site.
We were very impressed with our caravan although we did book it ...

We had fish and chips on site once, not good at all, fried in dirty oil, we ate out at local restaurants rest of time.
Loads of parentless children wandering around spitting etc. caravan was filthy, thankfully I was armed with cleaning products so could give it a good scrub. Nothing for adults to do unless you are a fan of bingo, getting drunk and cabaret!!

Absolute disappointment, I don't normally bother with reviews but as no-one from Haven Holidays has bothered to get back to me with an apology after my comments, well here goes.
The actual campsite and our caravan was clean but that's the good bit done. The place is far too overcrowded, they have a monstrous amount of gaming machines for your entertainment and for squeezing every last penny out of you, which they are remarkably good at doing on this site.
The swimming pool was filthy, cold, ...

We arrived on Friday afternoon, planning to stay until Monday, but came home on Saturday. The caravan was awful! We booked a Silver Caravan that is described as luxury on the Haven website. Luxury in a third world country maybe! All curtains and upholstery needed cleaning. The mattresses smelled, the duvets had stains, the provided linen had holes (I've thrown better out). The shower cubicle was growing mould, the toilet was covered stains. There was mould or dirt down the corners of the ...

As I, too, have never even received an acknowledgement of my letter of complaint. I publish it here:

Dear Sir/Madam
Re: Haggerston Castle Visit 19.8.06 3 Nights Ref: CAO 0017/16
We were extremely disappointed with both our reception and the accommodation provided during our stay in August. I took the decision not to waste precious holiday time spending it on complaining, but feel compelled now to write and express how we felt.
We had our own camper van, but ...

I give Haggerston Castle a definite 10 out of 10!! Myself and my husband loved it, as we had time to ourselves, as the kids were fully occupied and wasting all of our money!
I was a bit worried after reading a few bad reviews, but I honestly thought Haggerston was the best caravan park I had been to in my life! And yes, money is a wee bit of trouble here, but at the end of the day every single penny was worth it!

Very disappointed with the facilities of the Haggerston Castle Haven Holiday site. Although the site was nice and clean, and the caravan was in reasonable condition.
The main problems are that there are too many people on the site for the facilities. You have to queue and wait for everything, and I mean everything.
They only allow 75 people in the pool (health & safety), and the pool is small, and every child has to be accompanied by an adult. My 6 year old son only managed to to swimming o ...

Myself and my family went for a 7 night stay at Haggerston Castle in Northumberland during the summer holidays, and in short it was FANTASTIC.
The entertainment there offers something for everyone. We spent most of our time in Carnabys (the family bar), and the kids love it in here, as this is where the Bradley and Rory Shows take place. We managed to drag them away for one night, which we spent in the Showbar (a more adult orientated bar), and the visiting cabaret was fantastic. There is als ...

This is the third time my family have stayed at the Haggerston Castle Haven Holiday Park. The caravans we have been allocated have always been clean and very spacious. There was heating in all the rooms, and the bedding was very clean, unlike a lot of other sites.
I can not find any faults with this site, and I will certainly be back!

Had booked for 3 nights at Haven Holidays Haggerston Castle, but couldn't make Friday night due to late working. We arrived on Sat morning and given caravan keys. The caravan was disgraceful. It looked about 10 years old and was dirty, smelly, carpets were all marked, bed mattress would have turned your stomach. Returned keys and was immediately given another caravan.
This one was marginally better. We don't like to complain and kind of got on with it. Saying that, we dumped our stuff and ...

I arrived at Haggerston Castle after a 3 hour drive only to be greeted with a wait of an hour before I could check-in. This was after finding somewhere to park then going on a mystery tour through the amusements to find the place. First impressions count and this one was spot on. I had to queue again for linen. The caravan was clean enough although there were problems with the toilet. One was fixed quickly (after queuing for another 20 minutes to report it!!) and as far as I know the plumber has ...

Our one week family holiday to Haggerston Castle 23/07/2005 - 30/07/2005 ended up to be more like an endurance test we had booked and paid for a themed/silver caravan so we could stay in a reasonable standard of accommodation, but our holiday was more like an endurance test our caravan was dirty it had chicken stuck in the draining board that stank & was unhygienic, all the crockery (glasses, plates, cutlery) were dirty & in need of a good hot wash before we could use them, we were unable to use ...
