I was due back from Haggerston Castle today however returned yesterday as I could not stand another night there. The caravan was damp and smelled terrible. The toilet seat was on the floor and the curtain on the front window missing. Bedding dirty and matteresses felt damp. Very cold without heating in the rooms. I reported the problems immediately and maintenance came and put an air freshening blower in the caravan - soon as it was taken away foul smell was still there. Had to report loo seat again on 2nd day as had not been mended. Maintenance came and rested it back on loo but slid straight off again. Never had a curtain put up which meant no privacy when up with a month old baby during the night. The site had barely no activities on, only swimming and slot machines available. Food terrible, thin watery coffee, instant mash, ready made yorkshire puds. I don't expect Grand living but I expect basic which this place isn't. Got rained on inside the complex as roof leaked everywhere. Never again will I venture near this place and if it wasn't for 2 excited teenagers I would have come home immediately.

It was a year ago almost to the day that we went to this filthy black hole laughingly referred to as a 5 Star park.( look back to last October and see my review ) I have had a morbid interest since our nightmare in the reviews of others who have sampled the 'delights' of this dump and read the mostly sad, disappointed and quite frankly angry reports from others like ourselves. well, it certainly hasn't changed at all has it...!!!!
Oh how the memories come back.........half a fried egg in the fry ...- Read astraea's review (263 words)

having returned just over a week ago from Haggerston Castle, I cannot understand why this Haven 'holiday' site is still operating, the superior upgraded caravan was filthy, mould on pillows, duvet smelled of sweaty feet and stale cigarettes, pans in kitchen were rusty and there was left over food from the last occupants on the utensils, the gas fire didn't work and the TV remote was held together with black tape with the batteries hanging out, the windows were greased up with chocolate and crumb ...- Read Guest's review (127 words)

Just arrived home early from our 5 star prestige caravan holiday at Haggerston Castle. Firstly how they managed to get a 5 star rating is beyond me. The entertainment area (if you can call it that!) was smelly and full of slot machines. The swimming pool was fine until you went into the changing room and I don't really want to know what was on the ground but towels and costumes and us were all washed thoroughly afterwards. The shop was expensive but what caravan park shop isn't. Secondly ou ...- Read Guest's review (192 words)

Next week i am staying for a weekend at haggerston castle, we have been many times before and loved every mintue of it! Our caravan has always been clean and fresh on arrival, however at nights it gets abit cold - so take some thick socks. Haggerston is in a lovely park with the lake and surrounding walks, and just minutes away from holy island. My dogs were never still. The night entertaiment is great for the kids, with all the shows and funstars however there is alot of gaming machines where y ...- Read Guest's review (147 words)

HAGGETSON CASTLE
Just returned early from a 7 night break at Haggerston Castle. Five Stars is a joke. Caravan was ok, clean, thin pillows, not enough pillow covers or duvet covers, decor and appearance not what I was expecting from a prestige level costing nearly £800,The location was in Turnburry and was quiet with loads of space around you to let our toddler play. There was nothing to do apart from spend a fortune on slot machines and queue for ages to get into the pool. We queued thi ...- Read Guest's review (304 words)

PLEASE PLEASE belive the bad reviews for Haggerston Castle. Our 3RD!! Caravan was fine and the staff did help move us but that and the Chinese meal we had whilst there, was the only good things. The entainment area was dark, hot, smelly and you stuck to the carpets and chairs. You had to queue for the swimming pool with certain times for going in and a restriction of an hour (inc changing time)a go. The main area is full of slot machines which could end up costing you a fortune. To hire the sw ...- Read Guest's review (216 words)

Hving just returned from Haggerston Castle, I would have to say NEVER AGAIN!!We paid for a better caravan and to be fair the 1st caravan was very nice EXCEPT the kind people who had been in prior to us obviously smoked in every room (probabaly due to the boredom) and threw 40+ cigarette ends out the front door (we gave up counting at 40), and the toilet stank. We moved to caravan 2 - small old tatty and 4 stools around the dining table (there were 7 of us, 4 adults 3 children,) Moved to caravan ...- Read Guest's review (336 words)

Just returned from Haggerston Castle 5 star holiday, this must be rated out of an 100 star cos it was dreadfull to say the least. On arrival we recieved a key to a luxurious dog kennel, took the key back and got another caravan opened the door to another luxurious chicken shed just inside the door was a mop stood upside down with more hairs and grime than you would get off a barbers floor. Took the keys back to be upgraded free of charge to a prestige caravan even had a microwave, curtains torn, ...- Read Guest's review (182 words)

Booked a 4 night stay in a Haven Holidays caravan on site for over £400. The caravan was disgusting and dirty and right next to what only be called a bog not a lake and filled with rubbish. The park and the amusement area were the bars were was so overcrowded and hot to say the least. In our party we had 3 boys all under the age of 12 and on occasion got a bit over excited (as kids do) on the second night we took them to the amusement arcade spent some money and returned to the caravan ...- Read Guest's review (152 words)

i have recently returned from a supposed 7 night stay at Haggerston Castle, on arrival we were treated to a cattle market book in, the superior plus caravan was dirty old and worn, we were moved after complaining to another that was even worse, the lounge was worn out , carpet stained and worn , furniture the same, kitchen had bubbling work tops with a hole in the wall, the beds were from the dark ages with no mattress protector, metal frame with a 4" thick mattress that was stained and very unc ...- Read paul106's review (193 words)

Just back from Haggerston Castle today after a four night stay in a superior plus caravan, an words cant really describe how dissapointed we all were. Firstly the caravan we got was situated in woodside next to a "lake" this so called lake was filthy, filled with rubbish and a stool from one of the caravans, we also have a 20mnth old son so this was a hazard to say the least. Our neighbours in the next caravan were all in there early 20's, played hardcore dance music 24 - 7 and enjoyed drinkin ...- Read Guest's review (174 words)

Just returned from a four night stay at Haggerston Castle with my husband and two kids aged 14. On arrival we were pleasantly surprised - the site itself is nice, clean and well run and booking in was quick and efficient. Our caravan was fine, clean and tidy and well situated. Thats the end of the positives I'm afraid, the rest of the place was a complete letdown.
The website promised a kids club (T co) for teenagers offering loads of activities which on arrival we found was non existent - ...- Read amandajabl's review (451 words)

Its Been a while since we stayed at Haggerston Castle, and the memory still haunts us. We were in a touring caravan, and opted to pay the extra for a super pitch. The prices at Haggerston are extortionate, we luckily had a special offer, so seemed pretty good value. We had high hopes, as we were promised millions was to be spent on the entertainment complex, ready for this season. An all new Carnaby's bar. Yeah right! no change just another years worth of dirt. The Airconditioning doesnt work ma ...- Read Guest's review (248 words)

Have just returned from one week at Haggerston Castle. We booked a private van which was superb in a lovely spot. However the entertainment complex was discusting. The bars smelt of cheese and sick. Everything you wanted to go on cost, that's if you could be bothered to queue. The rope and absailing was never on, despite the staff saying "come back tomorrow at 1200" We never saw it opened all week. On a positive, the actual site was kept clean, but will never go again.- Read Guest's review (85 words)

Just returned from a weekend at Haven Holidays, Haggerston Castle and have to say what a rip off. Mums and dads beware, there is nothing for under 5s and has more slot machines than las vegas. There are no pedestrian paths, you have to share the road with the cars, bikes etc. This park is in need of a full makeover with better man management. If you manage to get into the pool there is no chance of a swim. Far too crowded. My friends hired a highchair and was dirty so didnt use it. There are far ...- Read Guest's review (128 words)
