My Gibson SG Special has fantastic looks and a comfortable neck that just begs to be played. This guitar has a lot of personality and class! Perfect for classic rock like Led Zeppelin. I paid £435 for my one, a bargin at that price!

Really nice to play, responds excellently, pick ups are awesome, they give you that great SG tone your used to form bands such as Ac Dc. could do with a better when bought, like the SG standards do.

Overall this Gibson SG Special looks, feels and sounds great from those heavy 2 soft sounds it can easily cope with those versatile changes buy the flick of the switch, also it is very light so would be perfect on a gig or just rocking in front of the mirror which is why I rate this 10 out of 10!

It looks and sounds great, it has a really good feel about it what more does a guitar need. I wish people didn't keep mentioning heavy metal when I use it though... oh well

Gibson SG Special Electric Guitars have great sound quality. Many different tones, and fast comfortable fret board. Holds tune well, and looks great- (I think that the red finish is the best). Decent sustain easy to get used to. This is a very high quality guitar. I got mine for 1000 at Guitar Center, it was a great deal. The type of music I play with it is rock/metal. It has great pickups for clean tone too. When I was buying this I was a little nervous. I had been playing the guitar for a ...

A great sounding guitar but can be a bit of a one trick pony. Shame Gibson don't include a hard case as with the SG neck this is essential. Good for gigging but watch the tuning.

I have owned my Gibson SG Special electric guitar for approximately 3 months now, and having test driven Les Paul's, there's no amount of money in the world that could sway my decision on the FACT that the SG Special is the hands down winner. It has amazing power, and the ease of play is outstanding. Someone must have switched the price tags! It's the ultimate Rock guitar FACT! Warning: played through a Line 6 PODxt Live and a high standard amp may cause structural damage! Seriously though buy o ...

I have bought the Gibson SG Special over one month now. Mine is ebony. This guitar has a lot of playing ability. It has a very thin neck which is very comfort, I do not suggest that someone with big hands buy it because it will annoy him. It has 2 (two) good humbuckers too! It is very light. It is a very good electric guitar.

When I bought my Gibson SG Special it was only £150 what a deal because it is obviosly worth more, I've been playing it for about 12 months now and it still sounds great but there are a few huge scratches on the scratch plate where I dropped it (whoops).
So if you find a bargain of under £1k buy it because its worth every penny.

I bought this Gibson SG Special guitar 18 months ago after tryin' out USA Strats, other Gibsons and because I couldn't afford a 56 Gold Top Les Paul.
The band I'm with at the moment plays 60's & 70's R&B- the SG delivers a solid sound (like I said)- but is versatile enough to also pull some great highs. I gig regularly with this guitar and it has never let me down.
    I use 11's to 46's strings.
I put it through a Fender 60W valve amp - it roars!! Mostly use the treble pick up(first pos on toggl ...

Hi. I much preferred the Gibson SG Special over a £1500 les paul that i played. This guitar sounds amazing with and without distortion. I haven't gigged properly yet with it as I have only been playin for 7 months and in a band for 2, it can be hard to find gigs but when I do it will be a walk in the park as it is so light (unlike the les paul). But what trips you up is the tuning, can be very annoying but when you get it right you will sound like a legend. I said no to "would I reccomend ...
