You were really lucky girl!
I went back there for my appointment and I have been told that Sam does not work there anymore, in fact she was there about 3-4 months only.
I have not decided yet on my wedding gown...I feel very anxious to commit meeting every time new people who will possibly look after most important dress in my life.

My daughter and I visited the Leeds branch of Caroline Castigliano a couple of weeks ago, after my daughter made the appointment (my wedding by the way). I found the sales assistants so helpful in every aspect, from choosing my dress to the accessories, they made every decision so easy and simple to make. Valerie was my dress adviser and she made me, my mother and my bridesmaid feel extremely welcome. I tried on a number of dresses and never felt rushed or pressurized into buying anything. The lady could not have been more helpful on the phone and as we had already arranged appointements with other shops offered to stay late and see us at 5pm. I had gone along to the store to try on the sales dresses in the hope of finding one in a style I liked. The lady serving me was extremely patronizing, looked down her nose at my eighteen year old sister and referred to me (a 33 year old woman) as a "little girl". I noticed that once I had paid for my dress, which they were quite insistent was paid for upfront, the service dropped immediately. I went to CC shop in central London to look for my wedding dress. The shop is very nice and big, but I did not like the attitude of the staff, I think I was served by the manager. Very posh, patronizing attitude! The dresses were descibed as they were the best in the world, but I have seen much better. Maybe a little bit less of this formal attitude would help! I went to the boutique in Edinburgh to look at bridal shoes. The sign at the dorr did not say 'By appointment only'. When the lady answered the door (after ringing the bell twice) I was quite abruptly told that it was appointment only. I stated that I only needed to look at shoes and was told that they were very busy. I was not offered an appointment and was, quite frankly, appalled at their customer service.
I would recommend potential customers avoid this boutique.

Ms Castigliano, if you wish to sell gowns retailing in excess of £3,000 to discerning, educated women, then might I suggest you encourage your staff to spend less time on hard-sell tactics, and possibly invest some of your profits on staff training in good manners. Perhaps you should promote...

The sales lady was very helpful and we had a very successful visit, but the dresses wasn't exactly perfect and so i said i was going to think on it. This was immediately met with threats of the 2009 prices ending 'that day' and going up by 10 - 15% at the end of the day due to VAT!!!! This is strange... I bought my dress form CC and was told I was cutting it fine with 10 months to go...however, several months down the line, after lots of chasing, they have only just taken my measurements, and will start making the dress now, the wedding is less than six months away!!

Agreed. I hated the word game they play. I said I wouldn't be so presumptuous as to place a word on how I would look...my mum said "determined" we did hope that put her off, but she continued. The store closed down a few weeks later though...says a lot!

Any bride looking for a great experiance must make a trip to Caroline Castigliano in Guildford.I stepped in this shop a year ago and have never looked back!The manageress, was very young but she really new her stuff.I fell in love with a gown and I must have returned 4 or 5 times before I finally ordered it.
I then met the lady who takes care of the fittings she was outstanding,I was crying when I collected my gown because I woudn't be able to go for any more fittings and be made to feel so...

What an awful, awful experience. I made the mistake of paying the £25 fitting fee because my BMs and I could only come on a Saturday. Before asking me anything about the dresses I might be interested, the overbearing sales woman asked how much I would like to spend. When I did not want to speed the £5,000 she suggested, I was immediately sent to the sales rack and had to beg to try anything else on!
