Good Points: Look fantastic. Excellent soundstage.
Bad Points: Needs a lot of power (at least 100 - 125 watts). Can sound bass heavy / muffled. Particularly in distorted guitar sections. In music like Iron Maiden and Metallica, all you hear is the bassist, the guitars are just messy. Need a particularly large room.
General comments: If you don't listen to overdriven guitars, then these Cyrus Icon X4 speakers sound excellent. The soundstage is huge and they can certainly produce all the volume you'll ever need at all the frequencies (8 inch subs take care of the bass!). I found them to be too bottom heavy with not enough sparkle in the treble (have since moved to Monitor Audio Gold 60).
These speakers take AGES to run in. It was a couple of months before they sounded right. When I first got them I was very disappointed, I knew they would take a while to run in, but thought that the sound I had after a week was all I would get. Fortunately they improved, but it took a long time.
I owned these speakers for a couple of years and would not recommend them as they aren't versatile enough.
Need a pretty large room as they realistically need to be at least a metre from the wall. They are pretty tall too which could look overbaring in a small room. On the plus side they are very elegant.
