“Career Support Plan Candidate”

★★★☆☆

written by on 05/03/2013

I enrolled on the Career Support Plan Package with Just IT after having gained my Comptia A+ & MCTS Windows 7. This consisted of confidence building sessions, interview techniques and CV workshops which were all constructive and contributed to me gaining a position in IT. Just IT place you into a short term position with a company to gain valuable experience in the industry. This is the most beneficial part of the package. My advice is to get your Comptia A+, Windows 7 & Windows Server qualifications. Then get into a short term placement as soon as you can. No one is going to do you any favours and hand you a job on a plate. The IT job market is fiercely competitive you have to take your own initiative, be proactive and work hard at trying to find a position in the IT industry. I now work for an IT solutions company as a 1st Line Support Analyst. I recommend Just IT to anyone wanting to break into IT. Thank You to Just IT and in particular my career support advisor Toyin and to Simon the MD for all your help and support. Best Wishes, Career Support Candidate

Hi,
I am planning to start the NPP. I will have a second interview next week. I have to answer some question that I am not sure about. Could you help me with your experience please?

1. What do you understand about job guarantee?
2. What do you understand about job support you will receive as part of the course?
3. What do you understand about the recruitment process for work placements?
4. How do you think people getting job after the course?
5. What do you think our expectations of you are whilst on the course?

Thank you
Peter

“Good concept with flaws!”

★★★☆☆

written by lustnfound on 01/03/2013

The recruiters need to be very clear that when you sign up with the company, it will be 99% you who will be doing all the legwork to find a job, unlike the impression the recruiters give you that it will be them getting you job interviews. I got 1 job interview out of this company and the rest I had to look for recruiters myself to get a job, which eventually I did. I would strongly advise to save yourself a lot of money and take the easy courses like A+ certification and windows 7 configuration yourself. The tougher courses like Windows server 2008 and CCNA, I would highly recommend going with JustIT as their teachers are very very helpful and knowledgeable. In hindsight I truly feel like I was "misled" in thinking after doing the courses they would do everything to secure multiple interviews and get me a job. All they did was tell us to register on already known sites like Monster.com,Jobserve.com etc etc and look for jobs. If we have to do all the legwork then why are they charging such high fees and telling us they will do most of the legwork to secure interviews? That just sounds very deceptive.

“It finally worked”

★★★☆☆

written by param on 16/10/2012

I do recommend Just IT to a friend, because it finally worked for me. I went through loads of frustating times, but finally I got my first role in IT 3 months after finishing my work placement. Good thing about JustIT is the course material is good, support is good. Its nice to have work placement in real-world. In job Interview, the knowledge gained through JustIT helped me a lot. The bad side was that I was being told before start that Just IT help you find job as they have links with IT companies in London. They place most of candidates in companies they have link with. But, it was wrong information given before start. You have to put 110% of your efforts to find job for yourself. But also, JustIT push you, motivate you, encourage you to continue your jobsearch. Overall, JustIT is a good place to start your career in IT. Recommendations: Just IT should get more variety of soft skill interview questions and technical Interview questions. They should also start a recruitment agency only for their candidates

“Set to the Right Path”

★★★☆☆

written by Coolarash on 02/12/2011

Although I had good IT knowledge and my MSc in Networking, I did not probably know where to start from at the time. Also I have to admit that I needed some more certifications e.g. A+ and MCPs recognized by the IT industry as the entry level requirements, therefore, I chose Just IT to set me in the right path, as well as providing me with those certificates. I made an effort myself too. Otherwise, no one could have done anything for me. For me Just IT was good as it at least showed me the way and made me realize what I lacked, my strengths & weaknesses, also where my position was in the industry. Although the placement and job searching part of just IT for me was not the best, I would rate them as good and recommend them. Thanks to those people who take every step towards other's success. Best Regards Mostafa

Hi Mostafa, you said that you have done MSC in Networking but you still did the just IT course. Why is that? Does that mean getting degree or doing Masters doesn't count in an IT industry. I heard that company doesn't actually ask for bachelor degree or master degree, they ask for what certifications do you have i.e. A++, CCNA such kind of stuff. How much is it true? Your suggestion would be so helfpul. Looking forward for your reply.

“After doing a lot of research on various training...”

★★★☆☆

written by on 22/05/2009

After doing a lot of research on various training companies I decided to go to Just IT to do my training.

I found the trainers to be well informed and enthusiastic about what they were teaching. The sessions were well paced and there was a relaxed atmosphere in the classroom, which was not overfilled. The only thing I would say is that if you have never used Linux or Cisco then the week long course is not enough to really give a good understanding of it, buts it ' s useful as an overview.

The support team are really helpful as well, and gave lots of useful feedback and suggestions on how to improve your CV and how to answer interview questions etc. They were very attentive.

Negatives - I found the recruitment team to be ineffective in all areas. They did nothing really to help me find work, and the couple of things they said they would do they never gave any feedback on how they were progressing, so I just gave up on them and concentrated on job searching myself. So to be honest I cannot give them any praise for anything.

Finally the facilities were average, for the amount the course was you expect minor things to be ready when you arrive in the morning....i.e. refreshments were seldom replenished ready for the day so were always having to be chased and leaking toilets, faulty toilet door locks, toilet rolls not always replaced and no hand dryer or disposable hand towels, just a grubby old bath towel hanging over a radiator....not very hygienic.

Overall the training and career support were really good and I enjoyed the courses that I took. They just need to sort the facilities management out ask the recruitment team to give feedback when they promise to do it and not just ignore you because you don ' t live in central London.

I've now secured myself an IT job through another IT agency.

Hi Just IT Candidate

I read your review with interest about 3 weeks ago. I am the MD at Just IT and the founder of the company.

I have the following comments about the review you have done;

1) I am glad the trainers were good, but remember you have the opportunity to come back and do free retraining so when you have 6 -12 months experience in IT give us a call and book yourself into a CCNA retraining week. You will take a lot more information in and be prepared for the next stage in your career which will probably be towards the networking side.

2) I am glad the support team was good as well - nearly all the candidates think they do a great job.

3) We have re focused the recruitment team to support even more of the candidates. The work placement side of things has expanded and we are now placing many more candidates. But we are really keen for candidates to take advantage of all the opportunities out there - through the general market - and that seems to be what you have done. In terms of any issues in the future if you ever have any issues to do with our service I would like you to contact us directly.

4) On the facilities side we have put a lot of effort in to improving the small details that matter. Refreshments are improved, the two buildings are now checked every week personally by me and we now run an on line feedback form every week to check and act on any comments about customer care. I believe we have improved here 100%.

So I am pleased you enjoyed the course, I am delighted you have your IT job and thanks for your suggestions about areas to improve. They are valuable!

Keep in touch!

“I was in two minds about joining justIT for training....”

★★★★☆

written by on 12/06/2008

I was in two minds about joining justIT for training. 5 grand is a lot of money and I did not believe at first that all the topics could be covered in 11 weeks, espiacally if the CCNA training is only a week. The Trainers are very good and they know the subject areas well. The pace of the training was good but I believed more time on the CCNA training is needed. In my case it is true that they put you forward for roles but some interview days were on on training days so I did miss quite a bit in the CCNA module. Overall it was a good experience, made some new contacts and learning quite a lot.

written by on 07/03/2008

At the beginning I was very spectacle about the whole thing, even though out of the other interviews that I had, I felt most comfortable about this one. So I decided to pay the minimum amount of £1595 only. Now halfway through my CCNA course I decided to whole thing because JUSTIT have changed my perspective.

“In my opinion JustIT did a very good job as a training...”

★★★★☆

written by Alvaro Zarzuelo on 19/06/2007

In my opinion JustIT did a very good job as a training centre and recruitment agency.
After researching prices and courses in other academies JustIT conditions could not be compare to others.
One might think it is expensive, but let me tell you that directors and teachers from other academies told me personally "We cannot compete with JustIT prices" (we are talking here about the package Network Professional course).
The teaching was excellent, reduced number of students in the classrooms, proper equipment, experience teachers willing to answer any question and help at any time.
The environment in the academy was like learning with your mates. The friendly staff and the personal treatment make the learning experience really enjoyable.

About the recruitment side of the company I have not complaints. They provide a really good service, they train you for interviews, they guide you on how to search for jobs and they provide continuous support to make sure you are in the right path.
I personally didn't have to do a work placement as I had previous experience; still I think this is necessary for the student without experience on IT and also an opportunity to show your commitment and enthusiasm in getting a career on IT.

To end my review and clarify previous comments you should know few things:

Firstly, do not expect them either to pass the exams for you or attending to the interviews on your behalf. JustIT will do everything in their hand to teach you, to provide you interviews and training you for those.
You are signing a contractual agreement when you start the course, JustIT is the party in the contract with more interest in finding you a job as soon as possible.

Secondly, as I mentioned before, you need to be committed and enthusiastic in working in IT and learning IT related subjects, without any of these please do not waste your money.

Thirdly and finally to mentioned that I do not have any personal interests on anyone registering in JustIT courses or programs. I am talking based on my own experience and on the experience of other students I know. I was surfing the web when I came across this forum.

Each A+ exam should take you around 1 week of instructor led training and 2 week of self study. The actual course may have changed but that how it was when I attended. If you have very little knowledge of IT then the important question you need to ask before you pursue a career in it is do you have an interest in IT? If not then it is probably the wrong career for you. If you do have an interest then my follow up question would be why do you have "Very little knowledge"? Anyone can pass the exams and get qualifications but to do well in a career you really do need a passion for IT.
