    Good Points: Cheap
    Handles both BBs and Pellets
    Rifled barrel

Bad Points: Fussy with some pellets
    Not accurate
    Too light
    Bad trigger
    Tool needed for pellet

General comments: It is basically a 971 BV (Black Fang) with adjustable rear sight and rifled barrel it also some 6oz heavier.

I got my Coperhead Black Venom two weeks ago and have put 7 kinds of different pellets through. I noticed that some of the pellets I tried would get stuck in the barrel.

The best group I get was with Gamo Pro-hunter, got 1.5inch at 8m but the group was so low that I could not zear the sight. The BBs grouped some 5inches higher but the group was about 4inches in size.

The Trigger is not that heavy but very creepy, I opened the gun up and polished the sear (made from stamped metal with rough edges). It was reasonably easy to strip the gun but putting it together proved hard (you have to keep the spring in place while putting to two sides together, not a recommended stun). Once the trigger job was done, it felt more like a partial pre-cock DAO trigger (ie Glock like half double action trigger).

The sight picture is good but the way of adjustment is just primative but that once I got mine right, it stayed in place well.

All in all, as a pistol for beginners and general plinking, the value is hard to beat at $20. The 2-stage cocking also makes it easy for younger kids as well.

With round balls it is not possible to hit anything at 10 meters with the Coperhead Black Venom.
At 5 meters you can hit a cola can ( sometimes ).
At 3 meters it is great fun to use !!!

Using pellets is no fun, because you have to push every pellet with a tool deep into the barrel.

Using bb's and darts is very easy.

It is plastic and low on power, so I give 4 Stars.
But for the money it is a great deal :
    10 Stars !!!

You may see this gun in stores from time to time often sold with darts and A dart board.
It has the same mechanics as the old Marksman 1911A1 ( .45 ) replica you often see in dart board kits except it uses the simple spring feeding system like that of the Crosman Auto Air 2 correcting the feeding problem that the old .45 replica is famous for.
That is the only advancement it has over the old Marksman .45 replica.
It is made of plastic and weighs probably less then 1 pound. The good thing ...
