Bad Points: I have had to wait a long time for several back orders.
General comments: I have never had a problem with the quality of the items I receive from Newport News. They offer unique and exquisite pieces as well as classy casual clothing that still manages to be comfortable.
I have been ordering from Newport News for years. Almost all of the pieces that I have ordered I still have and still wear. They have lived through countless washes and/or dry cleanings and still look as great as the day I received them. Anything I don't still have I either wore out or I 'shrunk out of' since losing weight.

Where to start... I returned 4 items, out of 6 from my last order. I thought they seemed cheaply made, cheesy material, 'faded' looking. It has been 6 weeks, with NO refund showing up on my card yet. I haven't called YET. I thought I'd give them a chance before writing a negative review. In addition, most of the clothing also seems to be for younger generations. I'm 58 and appreciate good fit and style.

I had been buying from both Newport News and Spiegel for years and usually had positive experiences with both merchandise and clothing. But now, I feel very few items seem to be of really great quality, fabric and fit. In my opinion it's pretty hit or miss now, and I've also experienced pictured items not looking anything like what is pictured in the catalogues (colors especially).

The last order that I placed was for 2 pairs of jeans which were fine and then for a 3 piece suit. The suit was made of a fabric that was shiny and slick. I have been buying from Newport News for over two years, I am a size 14 to 16 and I purchase only the FX clothing, I have to say I love the FX fabrics and the fact that it contours my body. The products feel cheaply made I feel and I am not happy with the fit!Unhelpful customer service in my experience! The clothes I received were not worth the money I payed in my opinion... I just got half my order the other half is on back order for months it seems! The dress I did get the peridot green peasant dress ripped the first time I wore it! Not happy with it at all and I will not be using Newport News Women's clothing again.

What I ordered was definately worth the great price. Great quality. Shipping time frame. XS dress is giant, but my guess is they make clothes for the masses, in loose styles that fit most anyone. That's ok, it's still hip and different and cheaper than what you find in the store, with the same quality. Overall, not a bad place to shop. I'm doing it again. Clearance section is the best.

Newport News Women's clothing - Shipping took a long time. Once I did receive shipment, most of the clothing was too big, wrong item, or on back order. I think the clothing in no way matches up with sizes found in department stores. I thought the clothing appeared so cheaply made that I sent all of the things back.

I've ordered some rubber flip flops from them awhile back for $5. Very uncomfortable, but they wore good during the summer and I could get them dirty or wet and it wasn't a problem, because they washed well. But they stank when I wore them, kind of like they were left in an old musty attic for centuries or something......................Anyway, great service. Never had a problem with ordering or delivery.

I do not know what body shape they make clothes for, but i am 5'5", average height, have anand wear a size 8 at the gap, 9 in most junior clothing sizes. Everythin hourglass shape, g I have ever tried at newport news, long sleeves, sleeves are FAR too short, skirts are TOO long, and waists are enormous beyond enormous for me personally, I'm sorry but with 38" hips I have a 28" waist NOT a 34" waist.

I would recommend them for a cocktail or special occasion dress you'll only wear once, but other than that don't waste your money. The clothes are cheap and low quality. Obvious cheap fabric and stitching

As much as I love the look of their clothing in the catalogs, I cannot bring myself to order from them again. Too often, items I want are on backorder, or are not available in the color I need. I also resent having to pay so much money in shipping and handling to receive the items just to try them on, and then pay a lot more to return them if they don't fit or aren't like the item in the picture. Newport News clothing and accessories look good in a picture. The actual quality of the products is a different story. Up close, they are cheaply made. Not only are their products not all they're cracked up to be, the clothing itself tends to run large. I am not a small woman. I'm breastfeeding, and just gave birth to a little girl. I needed an outfit for a holiday party on a budget, and I wasn't looking to spend a lot of money, and I spent $36 at Newport News Women's Clothing. My order hasn't left their facility yet, and it's been 1 week and a day. Now I have to go out and spend money on another outfit. Newport News has terrible customer service. I placed my order over three weeks ago. They have taken my money but my order has not come. They refuse to track my order until it has been 15 business days - 15 days! Not only that, but it was sent through the post office and they say they have no way to track it. Even though I ordered exactly the item (size, cut and color) that fit perfectly the first time I ordered it from Newport News Women's Clothing, it fit completely differently the second time. I was told by customer service they used different suppliers and couldn't control the quality of the product. Their solution was to cheerfully remove me from their mailing list! I'll never order from them again.
