Use to be very good - easy and no hassle service but in the last year one issue after another. One issue gets resolved for immediately another glitch with their system. No longer easy or hassle free with delays to transfer.

I attempted to transfer money from my bank in the US via XE and an intermediary bank in the US. My US bank advised that due to compliance issues they could no longer accept any transfer request that was not made in person. I advised XE that due to issues out with my control I was not able to proceed. I assumed that as their terms and conditions include a Force Majeure clause they would accept this and cancel my transfer. The response of XE could not have been worse, multiple automated messages telling me I had to lodge the funds, followed by demands for the money to be transferred, now they are trying to bully me by threatening to take me to court. Which I am prepared to fight, I will be crowdfunding my costs, so look out for my page. The bottom line is this company is not prepared to talk they depend on their bullying tactics. My advice is to stay clear until you start to see reasonable reviews appearing. I would also suggest that you contact the reviewers and ensure they are genuine.

This service is good only when everything is going smoothly. As soon as you hit a problem (e.g. goods not being delivered , contract not being honoured!) do not rely on XE to recoup your money if you made an international payment and you ask for a refund more than 10 days after your payment was made. If the international payment is made by credit / debit card or through a normal bank transfer, it would not be a problem to recall the payment. But not with XE. The staff is unsympathetic and some of them quite rude and you could be in a situation where you could never get your money back, just due to them. They are blaming it all on Bank of America (which apparently is behind the XE transfers) however XE are responsible for the transfer and they should respect the financial regulations and try to help.

I've been a customer for about 7 years. After demanding a Void Check from my US Checking acct, and my Soc. Sec # (which they should have had), they closed my account for unspecified "compliance" issues. They were always hard and prickish to deal with. Now, they freeze me out for no explanation. They are "currency" Nazis. AVOID THIS COMPANY ! All the 5 star ratings on this site for this company are obviously fake!

Used XE for 10+ years. They used to be spot on - good rates, easy transfers online, quick delivery, no fees for routine transfers. Mainly used in recent years for transferring GBP from UK account to USD for a US account. Payment/delivery via BACS and ACH/EFT. Delivery of transfers from USD to GBP used to be wire or draft only which was a bit of a pain but payment was direct by ACH/EFT. Recently, they allowed BACS credits so pretty much perfect. Now, I find for a USD to GBP transfer they will not debit directly through ACH/EFT as they had before. I am UK resident and cannot use the wire option for USD payment so their service is now only one way for me. A step backwards which they will not explain and they don't appear to care that what's included in their FAQs contradicts this.

Their customer service definitely needs work, I was told in a very condescending manner that I can't use their service because I don't have GST registered (as I'm only a small business) and told I can't use XE for payments! And just like that, my account was canceled and I was not offered another solution and promptly whisked out the door. What is with that? I'm off to OFX where my business matters!!! xe.com only works well as a conversion tool to see what the rates should be, not for trading and certainly not to do business with!

Avoid this company - very painful to activate a/c.. they ask for every bit of info imaginable, including on the recipient! You need to provide recipient's passport and bank statement to transfer a couple of $100 to them!

Be guarded guys, I lost my crypto and I don't know how they were able to get into my wallet even when my secret phase is kept private. But I am happy Marketpeace net was able to help me out with my refunds.
And I hope this gets to someone who finds this helpful enough.

Damm, I should have looked for reviews on xe.com before I even started with them. I just wasted at least an hour of my time & then back & forth e-mails with them for 3 days. 1. First I tried to sign up & they had site issues where I didn't get the proper e-mail to sign up. 2. I called up expecting to speak to someone in Canada & instead I got someone in Latvia & when I said I thought you were in Canada he seemed surprised & had no response. He then told me he didn't even know they were in Canada. 3. Then I was transfered to the Philippines (WARNING WARNING) & she proceeds to tell me there's nothing wrong with their site WHILE I'm having issues with their site unable to log in LOL I started raising my voice saying WHAT, I DON'T COUNT when I tell you there's something wrong??? I was using Chrome, when I tried logging in on Opera suddenly it worked. 4. I'm in Israel now for the time being, although I'm both a Canadian & American. I was NOT transferring anything to or from Israel & I told them in their questionnaire what I was planning on doing. All I wanted to do was transfer money from my Canadian bank account to my American bank account. VERY SIMPLE!!! Nope, I was asked MANY questions, & if they had been reasonable I would have answered them. I answered the reasonable ones, but THEN they wanted an exact date I was returning to the US. I told them I DON'T KNOW, but that wasn't good enough for them. I told them I'M AN AMERICAN, what does it matter where I am when I transfer money. People travel all over the world. THEN they wanted to know exactly what I do for a living, all company names & really demanding things that should have NOTHING to do with me doing a simple transfer for around $2,500. That's when I had ENOUGH. First they used the "money laundering" excuse, but then they finally admitted this was their way of vetting. I told them I'd just find another company & I will. I used to use them to figure out the exchange rate & I've been using them for YEARS. I've lost all respect for this company.

Customers are offered different rates! If you want to most competitive rate you must call and negotiate. This was a very different company when I started working with them 10 years ago. Their support was based in Canada. It is now outsourced which makes me uncomfortable if you run into problems with a trade.

I transferred money to Ghana with this company two weeks ago. My benefiaciary hasn't received this money yet. I called the company, who can't trace my money. I asked for a refund and they are telling me, i will receive the refund between 15 to 21 more days. Please don't use this company!!!!!

I have used Xe for many years, mainly to transfer funds to Uganda. Two years ago, they stopped transferring funds from an educational charity without warning, due to some security restraints, probably not their fault, but some warning would have been helpful. My most recent transfer this week took six days, much longer than usual, I think they have moved some of their operations to Slovenia, which is strange, and may explain delays. Also they stopped sending out courtesy emails to recipients.

Awful service. Long wait times. Terrible customer service.

I used XE.com to transfer funds between Canada and the UK. The experience I have had is terrible. Although they are supposed to transfer funds in 3 days, I have found that they send through inane questions, typically at the end of the business day, in what can only be seen as an attempt to stall the transfer. It also takes them 24 hours to reply to any email, phone customer service and they are totally useless. XE.com have had my money for a week now and although I call or email every day and they promise that the funds will be transferred at the latest the following day, still nothing. Appalling. I am starting to wonder if I will ever see my money again!

Too bad 1 star is the lowest rating I can give. The experience has been awful. I have used the XE website for years as a source for exchange rates, and turned to them to set up an account to move some money from Canada to the UK, as a result of the finalisation of my late mother's estate. I set up an account with a competing website in about an hour. A week after starting with XE I gave up. As their support is off shore, the lack of understanding, complete lack of customer focus in their engagement, is not surprising. They kept asking inane questions, and did not read their own emails. Every response was from a different person. Ridiculous process so I finally told them to close the account, and delete my personal documents. I am actually worried now that my information may make it into unscrupulous hands!

We are a small US book company who started using XEtrade nearly 10 years ago to make payments for used books to sellers in other countries. At that time their customer service was in Canada, and they were just wonderful. Excellent assistance, no hassles, easy to use. Seems the last few years that they have outsourced to Eastern Europe (Slovenia?)andthe whole company has gone downhill. Constantly making work for themselves by hassling us for additional company information - to PROVE who we are and why we are doing business. When asked to explain on the phone what laws they are basing their requests upon they can't tell you and they can't give you to anyone who can. We have gotten no less than 3 separate requests in the past 6 months for private company documents including tax documents, sales information etc. Each time they threaten to shut down our account. Well - go for it. We have signed up with USForex and are VERY happy with them. XEtrade stinks!!

XE trade stated that they give the most up-to-date rate..bullsh!t..I went to the website prior to making the trade and saw what the rate was; however when booking the trade, the rate was completely different (lower). Took over a week for the funds to get to my sister in the UK. I live in Canada. Never will i use xe trade again. lesson learned.

I have read the negative reviews about XE. However, they seem to have now corrected any problems as I have now used them twice and found them better and faster than my previous alternatives.

Great website and app to keep an eye on the mid-market levels; nothing else. Stupid and intrusive questions all the time to open an account. Finally (after a month), got the account. The rate suxs. Just unacceptable. Dont waste you time with them; use transferwise or any other option. Their "no comission" way is totally false. They just add i would say a 1.2-1.5% over the rate; ending in a 2.5-3% difference from mid-market. Seriously? EUR-GBP-USD, 3%? No thanks. i Better pay an 0.5% comission and have a 1-1.2% difference, as usual. I just feel that I wasted a lot of time sending them most of the info they asked (not all, btw). Aviod this company! Seriously.

I registered for xe thinking i would get a better deal for my money. Having entered all my details which included my credit card details for some reason i was concerned about this aspect of the registration process. I contacted my bank who put an alert on my credit card and to my shock i received a phone call from them less than 8 hours after to say that someone had tried to gain access to my account! I rang xe to enquire how this could happen and all they could say is that "someone else is trying to access your account". I will advise anyone not to proceed with the on line registration process. Even now i am concerned regarding the information that has been given to this particular website.
