“What is my status?”

I have an outstanding transaction I'm waiting on. Its a simple transfer from Canada to the US, and its been three days and my status is still 'Authorized'. What the heck does this mean? Nowhere on their site is there a discussion of various status states that a transaction goes through. I like the xe site, I like their rates, but the time lag and lack of transparency is very frustrating... I won't do this again. (read more)

“Slow and non-sensical onboarding process”

It has taken almost a week to activate an account with XE. They have asked for more documentation than i have ever had to provide anyone, even my bank didn't require the ridiculous amount of paper work that they do. It seems that they cannot apply common sense or make decisions at the call center level. It has been very frustrating dealing with them. At the end of the day, i could get my dentist or pharmacist to sign off on a proof of identity for them, but they would not accept a utility... (read more)

Xe Trade are one of the worst currency exchange companies I have dealt with..Not only do they consistantly fail to deliver funds on time and efficiently but their service department are contradictary and i feel in some case deliberately deceitful..I have had experience of them denying they have received incoming funds and also being incapable of following detailed instructions for the sending of currencies..If you have another option avoid this company at all costs (read more)

I've had an account with this company for about a decade now. At the beginning I was quite satisfied with their exchange rate and with their service. Now I find the service has deteriorated. They've outsourced their customer service to Lithuania and the Philippines, and the call quality is quite poor, so I can never hear the rep. properly. I also get kind of a sketchy feel from the new reps. Their English is adequate, but something is off. The exchange rate is still far better than going... (read more)

I had used them for years putting up with slow transfers to get better exchange rates. Recently transfers have slowed even more and when a problem develops, you can get no one with authority to solve the problem. They outsource to Manila & who knos where else to "agents" who have no knowledge nor authority to solve the problem. I HAVE SPENT 2 WEEKS ON THE PHONE EACH DAY TRYING TO RESOLVE 2 WIRE TRANSFERS. I used XE Trade for 2 transactions (wire transfer to Africa to pay hotels/tours for vacation). I had read online they were reputable and get a good exchange rate. They do get a good exchange rate, but it is much easier (time and efficiency) to just do the transfer through your bank. My first transfer was to South Africa. I did direct EFT from my bank account and provided the receiver's account number and swift code. XE Trade then told me that they need an IBAN which is only true for... (read more)

“It is easier to get a loan than to open an account”

I filled out the paperwork online. Talked with these guys online but they demanded so much paperwork to open an account - guarantor signature, copies of drivers license, passport, etc. etc. I told them that I don't waste time trying to open an account unless I know it is worth it. So I asked them to give me the transaction exchange rates (selling and buying) if I was going to trade today (with no commitment) in order to estimate the spread. I use this site quite a lot when I want to work out how much something will cost me in another currency. It is pretty fast and accurate. I have never purchased any money, so cannot comment on that. But I do think the site in general is good and easy to use. I like the way you can convert your selected currency to any other selected currency. It makes planning a holiday a lot more simpler. It's waste of time creating an account with xe.com, there would be lot more online sites who give better exchange rate. XE.com conversion and trade conversion has lot difference. (read more)

What total idiots. I am a director of UK company with assets of about $30 million, and sent them company accounts to prove it. I spent about two weeks sending them passport copies, driving license copies, bank statements, credit card statements plus spoke to them for almost an hour. They didn't seem to understand that debit card charges are shown on a bank statement, not on a separate debit card statement. Also that the debit card number would not be shown on the bank statement. xe.com is like a hot new girlfriend with no brains... at first she's cool to look at, fun, and exciting, you think to yourself, things were going so well, and as long as I kept it simple, it'll be ok. However, over time, when things got tough (i.e., you ask a simple question to a customer service rep) you realize, wow these people have no brains and you're shocked at how much they can't think for themselves. “Unusable: 2 weeks and still no account”

I tried to set up an account for which XE requested more documentation than any other company I worked with in the past, including my mortgage lender. After 2 weeks of resubmitting the same stuff over an over again I got tired of their BS and signed up for an account with Xoom. I was able to sent money within an hour using their competitor. The company setup is great, user friendly, staff excellent BUT, when I did a comparison transfer direct through my bank and then the same amount with XE.com - it worked out the exact same amount (within $2 actually) so not worth my while - would rather go through my bank. (read more)

XE.com is great for seeing interbank exchange rates, but the exchange rate provided to me was quite high. However, transacting with them online is easy to use. I now use knightsbridgefx.com (Canadian company) as they have better exchange rates and I can actually talk to someone about my transfer. (read more)

I was using the service to transfer money. Unhappy with the fact that they wanted a wire transfer and aren't savvy enough to accept debit or credit cards, I was prepared to let the trade lapse and pay them the cancellation fee. However, due to their own error, the company processed the trade without having received my funds - thus, going against their own policy.

www.xe.com is my favourite choice of site for gettting the latest currency convertions. I use it to get the rate of the Pound to the US Dollar but you can also use it for Euro's, Yen, Rubble, Austarlia Dollar etc. It seems to update every couple of minutes so you can be sure you're getting the latest info. It sure beats Xoom that will take your money and wont deliver it. You can't even sue them cause they dont have a real address. Its a phillipino company registered online in the US. They took up to $300. Still cant get money back.
