Good Points: High protein, low carb, low fat Does not contain by-products or meals (yuck) Very low on "fillers" - does not contain rice Contains healthy ingredients like cranberries to prevent UTIs Cats enjoy it, but don't scarf it down like they do generic brands (and get fat). It is a fair price, and the cats eat and poop less.
Bad Points: My only criticism would be the name - I wish it were something other than Performatrin Ultra, because I could abbreviate it to something other than P.U. Just kidding. Also, there is some carbs in the kibble. I understand that kibble requires some filler, but I would like to see even less brown rice.
General comments: I have three cats who were previously eating a somewhat generic brand - it was what they were eating when we adopted them from the Humane Society.
I decided to be a more pet-conscious person and my first step was to research the best types of cat food I could find. I had not heard of Performatrin Ultra when I first stepped into Pet Valu in Ottawa, but I was immediately impressed by the ingredients.
The low carb and fat, and high protein, along with the healthful ingredients such as cranberries - as well as the absence of disgusting by-products and meals and corn - were enough to convince me to give it a try.
Pet Valu handed me some samples (thank you!) which my cats took to immediately, and we haven't looked back since.
My cats have a lot of energy, rarely (if ever) vomit, and are sleek and beautiful. Just a few days ago, my vet declared them perfectly healthy and in excellent shape.
One thing I like about Performatrin Ultra is that although the cats clearly enjoy it, they do not seem to feel obligated to scarf it down like they did the other food they used to eat. I suppose that must be because they get more nutrition out of a small meal and don't feel like they have to eat as much as possible.

My kitties really love Performatrin Ultra Cats. I had been feeding Nutro and they prefer this one. Nice sized kibble and a natural product. Coat is in good condition and no hairballs.

Even though a 15lb bag of Peton Distributors Performatrin Ultra Cats costs $29.95 it's worth the price! I have 23 cats ranging from 13 years to 6 months. The food is suitable for all age groups. Contains goodies like blueberrys, cranberrys and other good vegetables. Flaxseed, sunflower oil and salmon for healthy skin and coat. Some of my cats have allergies and this really worked to keep them in check...it's wonderful stuff and you can get it easily from your local pet value store.
