    Good Points: Completely original
Strangly addictive - that 'just one last go' feeling

    Bad Points: Limited lifespan

General comments: It may sound to be short-lived in theory, but Yoshi: Touch & Go grows on you, and you always want that one last go every time, just like you used to with Tetris, how does it do this? Read on...

It starts with Baby Mario floating from the sky on 3 balloons, if these pop then Baby Mario would fall and well... you get the idea, actually he doesn't splat, he's instead kidnapped. Anyway it's up to you to save him by drawing clouds for him to slide on, doing this you must lead him away from enemies and collect coins, and the amount of coins you get will help later. Once at the bottom, Yoshi will dive and catch Baby Mario, the colour of the Yoshi depends on how many coins you got, and the colour of Yoshi depends on how many eggs he can hold to use against enemies. From here, Yoshi trecks right across the screen, he'll happily walk down a pit or into enemies if you don't aid him, draw cloud bridges across gaps, circle enemies to turn them into coins and bubbles or tap them to have Yoshi hurl an egg at them.
It all sounds simple enough but so does Tetris, however you always have to be thinking how to survive and you are determined to get that bit further or better than last time.

The downside is that there is only 4 game modes, they all have the same concept just with their own twist, marathon mode is perhaps the best, with an endless run to see how far you can get without dying, it gets harder and harder the longer you go.

It also has an equally addictive multiplayer, it cuts out the Baby Mario sky part and goes straight in with Yoshi, it's a 1000KM sprint to the finish, or whoever survives... it can get tense at the final 100m and although it's only 2-player, it'll have you and a friend hooked for ages! And you only need the one cart too.

The Yoshi Touch & Go is probably one of the best DS games out now. It is very odd, though...but in a good way. It is all about saving baby Mario from falling from the sky because the Stalk carrying him was attacked and he dropped him and baby Luigi. You have to draw clouds on the touch screen while Mario falls from the top screen. When baby Mario gets to the ground, Yoshi catches him. And the color and level Yoshi you get is determined by the number of coins you got in the sky part of the level. ...
