The Motorola HS850 is nice looking but its true, people can't hear you well and the volume is not loud enough, my mic has also stopped working after a year and a half or so. You can't connect it USB to anything, so that's not good.... you need to carry the AC charger everywhere. Would probably not reacommend it since it's not that comfortable either. (read more)

The Motorola HS850 is easy to operate but they can't hear me. Sounds muffled. I can hear them part of the time. Boom is short. When I pull away from my face, they still cant hear well. I re-tested it by send voice mail to myself, and I see what they mean. is it too late to return? (read more)

Keep looking. I can't hear the call without holding the piece closer to my ear and even then it's difficult. Adjusting the volume doesn't solve the problem. (read more)

It's handy, however, I can't hear the other person and they can't hear me. Is there a way to turn up the volume? If you can't hear what good is it? (read more)

Within 3 months the microphone stopped working (you switch it on by unfolding the mic), so the cable must have snapped inside. Not good quality for such an expensive device. I'm disappointed. (read more)

The HS850 was my first bluetooth and I wanted to buy the "best"; however, the 850 anit it! It's pretty comfortable to wear, good battery life; but, the MOST important think is to be able to hear, well you can't. The volume only goes up so high and if you drive too fast you can't hear well either. (read more)

There is a lot of rubbish on the market today, this headset is definitely worth a few quid more. (read more)

This Motorola HS850 is the second bluetooth device that I ever owned. The first was Samsung wep150, hated it. The sound was horrible and the thing kept falling off my ear. The HS850 is far better than what I had. The pairing was easy to my Samsung d407. The sound just blew me away.
Finally, the style of the device is very nice. I know there are those that have had bad experiences with this device, but I have to say I am very pleased because I have had a dud before. So, I know when...

As with the Motorola H500 bluetooth headset that I have, the Motorola HS850 has a very bad outgoing voice transmission, and this is paired with a V3. Customers are always asking me what I said. I'm taking it back to the store, and I am going to try a different brand, and not the Jabra's. They are like ordering a burger through a clown's head and they have a really bad setup for charging. I had one go bad on the second charge. I haven't had a good bluetooth set yet that worked well with... (read more)

It's taken me a long time to find a Bluetooth ear piece that works well, but I finally did. This is the best one yet. It is the Plantronics Voyager 510. A friend of my brothers was at my brother's house for Xmas and was telling me about it because he had the same problem with these things until he got the 510. He saw one of his neighbors talking on one all the time and finally asked him if he liked it and what the brand was. The guy said he had no problem with it except the on/off button is a bit difficult. I've had one now for a couple of days and everyone hears me clearly, even over road noise. YES the on/off button IS a bit difficult but it works pretty good otherwise. RadioShack - $79.99 - out of all the devices out there this is the best for the money. The normal retail on this is about $100 elsewhere. Might be able to get it on one of these comparison sites for even less than I paid. Get one, try it and let me know. - Eff Exx

I have 7 different bluetooth headsets. I have found Motorola's to work the best with range and dependability factors. However, the volume on my Motorola 800, 820 and now the HS850 have all been very very weak. I spent 25 dollars on eBay for a cheap bluetooth headset, and it goes twice the volume of the Motorola. The problem with that one then becomes the range. Very frustrating to spend as much as I have and never find a headset that works as I think it was intended to. Perhaps I can find a... (read more)

The Motorola HS850 bluetooth headset is plain and simple, and too much money for the name. There is no volume to hear while driving, and the 2006 car I drive is not noisy. (read more)

I would recommend the Motorola HS850 bluetooth headset to anyone. Motorola are reliable and of high quality. The headset looks good and performs well. The reception range is great, and the sound quality is very clear.
The only problem I had was linking the headset to my mobile, as the instructions were lacking in clarity; so if this happens to you, don't panic and contact your helpline.

Overall, I think the Motorola HS850 Bluetooth Headset is one of the best. I work for a cellular company, and this headset has the fewest complaints and customer returns.
The biggest complaint is if you have big ears - consider the Nokia or Plantronics.
I am very satisfied with the Motorola bluetooth headset compared to the numerous headsets I have used previously.

The HS850 is not by any stretch of the imagination a good product. Motoroa tries to woo us with style and no substance. This is their latest shameful attempt. I could barely hear what the person on the other end was saying. After having so much experience with bluetooth, one would have expected Motorola to produce a half way decent product. Unfortunately they did not and so the HS850 is an inferior product that I am returning to the store. (read more)

The Motorola HS850 is the third bluetooth headset I have owned and it is by far the best one I have used. As I have not had all the ones on the market I cannot compare them to this one. However what I can say that I will be very surprised if there is one better than the HS850. It's alround ability and performance is superb. My only niggle is that the blue light that flashes when it's on is both large and bright and can be quite annoying and may not be to everyones taste. However you could... (read more)

I owned and returned mine. The battery life was not what I expected for $99. Also, bad as far as ambient noise cancelling.

I have had the Motorola HS850 bluetooth headset for more than a year - I wish I had returned it to Verizon where I bought it, during the return period. It is a very poorly engineered product. All that my clients could hear was the background noise - they could easily hear the voice coming from across the room, but not mine. I agree that a human voice is a sound that projects forward; sound needs a surface to vibrate back from - simply physics. Anyway, I realized that I was annoying more of my business contacts by using this thing, so I gave up on it. Nothing was more revealing on the issue than when I would receive calls from a friend who also had one; I couldn't find a polite way to tell her that the device was making me crazy; I was glad when she told me she accidentally dropped it in a glass of water and it wasn't working any more. . . . best place I could think for this thing.
