Good Points: Excellent staff and clean and tidy resort. Food extremely good in most of the restaurants
Bad Points: Nothing specific to the hotel
General comments: Great fun. A bit like staying in Epcot in USA as the whole `Dubai experience` is brand new/under construction. We visited the Souk one day expecting something like the souk in Marrakech only to find it was like an American theme park - all sparkley new! The Royal Mirage is a super hotel. We stayed in the Arabian Court part but the Palace and Residence looked nice too. All brand new (see above) so making a sort of `faux` Arabian experience - probably all the better for that! Restaurants are all good but Nina`s and the Tagine are the best. The building work is not particularly intrusive; anyway the whole coast has building work so forget Dubai for a few years if total silence is your thing.

The Arabian Court, One & Only Royal Mirage is exceptional, I cannot find fault with it in any way. Make sure if going from the UK that you fly Emirates though - it is a long flight & you do want the best!

Royal Mirage, The One And Only:
If you don't reserve a table at least 24 hours in advance, you'll struggle to get into the restaurant of your choice.
Like much of the coast, there is no getting away from the construction work for the "Palm" being built in the ocean (and this is a 24 hour operation!)
The Royal Mirage appears to be very family-friendly. Good if you've got children and enjoy arranged activities such a pool volleyball; Not so good if you're wanting a quiet / romantic break.
