We wore our last one out after ten years (we run each draw at least once a day - as we cook everyday. Our newest one is even better than the first. The dishes are super clean, and the drawers accommodate even our largest pots - not like the standard dishwasher. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone! (read more)

Water apparently is expected to sit and stagnate in a little catch pan and most likely is splashing up at the dishes. The dishes literally stink like a bacteria has coated them. My husband had to blow out the lines and we tried a rinse with white vinegar but it doesn't take long for the smell to come back. I have tried to dry up that disgusting little catch plan and clean it fresh with soap and water many times but to no avail. The design of this system is a piece of junk as the dirty... (read more)

I have had service 3 times on mine that is 5 years old. Now yesterday, on the weekend, the water started running into the washer and would not stop. I had to pay after hours plumber service. Power was cutoff and water was still going into the bottom drawer but not the top. Does not clean dishes well at all. For the cost, I can get a stainless steel tub, not plastic for half the price. Not a good value and not a quality product at all. (read more)

I installed one of these dishwashers when replacing my kitchen nearly 5 years ago and I had no problems with it whatsoever. Indeed we chose the dishwasher on the recommendation of a friend, who was also very pleased with her purchase. I loved the flexibility of being able to carry out either a small or a double wash. When I bought it my daughter was a slightly kamikaze toddler and she used to try to sit or climb onto the open door of the standard dishwasher we previously had - this obviously... (read more)

I have had my unit for 8 months. It does not clean properly, leaves dishes with spots, does not hold an adequate amount of dishes. The bottom drawer is useless. About the only thing that fits in it is small bowls and silverware. It does not even fit a full size cookie sheet. COmpletely upset i spent the money on this unit. This unit is good for a bachelor who uses it once a month, not daily. We are in the process of taking it out and buying a new, reputable dishwasher. (read more)

We've had this load of rubbish for 3 years, it has broken down again today. It leaks and breaksdown a couple of times a year. This time we are getting rid, it was expensive and looks good but what a waste of money. Steer clear at all costs. We had an Electrolux for 15 years with no problems at all, we left it behind when we moved house, how I wish we had brought it with us! (read more)

We spent $1.4k on our DD603 plus extended warranty plus installation. Then over the past 10 years, spent an additional ~$800 on repairs. Finally, I took over the fixing myself to save cost and keep the wife happy. About two months ago, there was a leak which messed up the main filter board at the bottom. I bought and replaced the board, the top and bottom wiring harness and one of the controllers for $350. Last week, the top lid did not appear to shut properly, there was moisture on the... We first purchased a Fisher and Paykel double drawer dishwasher in 2002 with a complete kitchen remodel. It was repaired so many times and required so many replacement parts that the manufacturer finally agreed to replace the unit in 2006 (minus installation cost). Now in 2012 I am having the same issues with this dishwasher. It has been repaired many times and required replacement parts. It has leaked so many times that my wood floor is beginning to warp. I can never trust to turn it... (read more)

I bought this dish washer 4 yrs ago as I loved the idea of separate washes and the very modern look coupled with water efficiency. In the time i've had it it's broken down twice needing board replacements but worse still is the fact that it does not clean at all well! Dishes are often left dirty and it often appears to get blockages. Simply a waste of money. (read more)

Bought this expect to get an amazing machine at the very expensive cost. We have now had it 4 years and in all those years haven't had one where it has worked continually. It constantly breaks down and fault lights flash, it leaks from underneath a lot of the time, doesn't clean very well at all. I was horrified to find that mice have access to the inside of the dish drawer through the hot air vent. This is a design fault easily fixed by incorporating a grill over the hot air vent. Bought this product and have had nothing but problems with it. Apart from the fact that it doesn't clean as well as cheaper makes I have had previously, it has broken down 3 times!! The breakdown is the same problem everytime and very expensive to fix. New kitchen and the husband allowed me anything I wanted so on that basis I wanted the beautiful, shiny 2 drawer Fisher and Paykel dishwasher to match the equally shiny, beautiful 2 drawer Hotpoint fridge. Unfortunately the shine of the dishwasher diminished after only a couple of weeks. It broke. Wouldn't work. Turned out that the sensors were sensing that the drawers were open when infact the drawers were shut. That took 4 visits over a period of 2 weeks to figure that fault... (read more)

I never normally write reviews but I am so disappointed with the Dish drawer that I feel compelled to warm people away from the product. Yes, it is lovely to look at and yes, it is easy to load but mine has cost me £600 since I bought it 5 years ago in repair bills. Interesting when you think that we are a family of 3 and do most of the dishes by hand. Also interesting to note that the kitchen designer who has just designed a kitchen for me in another property refused to even consider a... (read more)

I have had two dish drawers for nearly 3 years and have not had any problems with them. We did figure out that if you don't rinse dishes first, nor clean out the filter, that they do not wash properly - but that is fine with me. It is handy having the option of doing half loads, and we don't have dirty plates mouldering in the dishwasher smelling the place up. We have a family of 5 and two are more than enough at all times, even with guests. I chose them because I wanted an island unit that... (read more)

We are now replacing our dishdrawer, after 15 years of service. Yes, 15 years of no repairs. It is actually still going but getting a bit noisy and to be honest we want a new one that is integrated now. The top dish drawer died at 12 years of age, with no repairs, so we just kept using the second. I purchased two single Dish Drawers five years ago. The only problem I ever had was when coloured gravel from the fish tank........er, found its way into the impellor and trashed it. The engineer was out straight away and fixed it immediately. I asked him about some of the problems I had heard with Dish Drawers, particularly the upper seal failing and water ruining the electrics. He told me that a lot of damage is caused by dishwashing tablets as they are very, very harsh and damage the seal... (read more)

After having back problems forever, the concept of not having to bend to do this daily chore was so attractive. The choice of black fitted in with my kitchen colours and i bought one instantly from a local kitchen fitter from Kendal who literally left it in the middle of my kitchen, not interested in plumbing it in unless i bought the rest of my kitchen from them. By far the best dishwasher I have ever used and would not even consider going back to a conventional one. As there are only two of us at home, this means that we can run a drawer every other day and things remain fresh, rather than going putrid as you wait to fill a conventional dishwasher.
Also, ergonomically, this machine's great. It's the only one where there are so many places to put mugs and glasses - all others I have used fill with glasses before the plate racks are even half full. ... (read more)

This contraption was installed by the developer who thought that by paying a lot of money it would be a quality product. Well it's vile rubbish. Poncey and gimmicky and won't clean dishes. It's designed to take powder (who the hell uses powder?) and tablets have to be thrown into the dishes before it starts so the detergent can't arrive at the right time in the cycle. I bought my Fisher & Paykel Dishdrawer DD603SS in 2004. It cost over £900 so I expected a trouble-free few years of use from it. This twin drawer model is ideal for single person - no lengthy wait for unit to be filled . I find 56 min wash is ample for most dishes. Eco not very good, except for lightly used china etc.
I very much like the stainless steel appearance of the machine - co-ordinates with other ss items - eg oven & hob. is easy to keep clean too. It is quite a feature in my kitchen - is often admired, particularly the unusual feasture of two drawers.

We have had our F&P for over 4 years. First problem, the tech didn't install it correctly. Second problem, 4 years later was drawers failed to open - motors and link belts needed to be replaced.
