    Good Points: Hmm.

Bad Points: Over promise, under deliver

General comments: I have used Easyspace for many years for my personal email and web hosting without any dramas.

So, when I was starting a new business venture, it seemed to be a good choice for our domain registration, web hosting and exchange hosting.

It took 2 weeks just for them to get Exchange up and running for us.

Firstly I was told to wait for DNS propagation - when this did not make it work after 3-4 days, they looked into it a little further. The MX records were wrong (and they said I must have changed something on them - I did not even know what MX records were at that point, let alone how to change them!). So they changed them and said wait another couple of days for propagation. Still no joy.

So, now they admitted something had gone wrong on the setup of our job on their backend server. They were working on it - give them 24 hours and it would all be solved.

Cue days of emailing them and being told that it was with their senior developer being resolved.

Eventually, 15 days later, I had Email - great!

So, then i wanted to upload a temporary webpage - but, once again, they'd set things up wrong - they'd not assigned any disk quota to my domain. Thankfully that was resolved in only 3 days.

So, then things worked well for a few weeks. But now, i have totally lost email again.

They've done something to the server to allow people on hotmail to email any exchange boxes they have (there seems to have been a problem there) and they've stopped ALL email working.

Emails now bounce back to the recipients. I can send Email though.

Yesterday they said it was resolved and that things would be up and running today. Today, they say that the MX record update did not go live and they hope it will back up and running tomorrow.

So, I am trying to run a new business and, so far, out of 8 weeks of having this domain, I have had 17 days of Email outage!

    Pathetic.

They are always helpful on the tech support and tell you it is being sorted.

I genuinely think that they do not have the skillsets for the Exchange side of things.

The webhosting side of easyspace is fine - it seems to be reliable. The admin and help sides are terrible. There's no grace on bill payments, so if you're a minute overdue with payment, then down comes your site and it will be 24hrs before it's up again. They had me on the most expensive package, and when I changed they didn't tell me I would have to reconfigure my email forwarding. Could they help me? I asked. No, they replied I'd have to do it myself. Not recommended.

Overall the shared hosting that Easyspace provide is adequate for small buisinesses. There are faster more efficient servises out there but they cost more. They had a problem with their servers but they had back ups so I lost nothing. Unfortunately, they took the online chat off line. Now you have to pay to have that feature or phone them up or wait for a ticket to be answered.

I think the sevice suits the price, overall suits me.

I've had numerous problems with them.
Slow technical replies. Basic mistakes in code on business website packages - contact details were wrong (took several days for them to correct and them and even then I had to edit them myself as they had only done half the job.
I get access denied on FTP files I uploaded, even though logged on and it worked a week ago!
Unhelpful in trying to release domain names.
Just generally feel left in the cold as a customer after paying up front for their services.

Why oh! Why!...did I choose Easyspace...I have about 15 small business web sites hosted with these, and it is so awkward when your clients are phoning you so often because they cannot view their web site or access their emails. Easyspace have made me and my business look very poor..

I started using Easyspace in 2005 and it's been very easy going. My website is a simple view only with music and video files attached. The initial setting up was easy and the price for the space and URL was cheap, and since then it's simply been a case of renewing the membership. No problems. :0)

Easyspace's email system doesn't work. Regularly get emails bounce back - but it takes 24 hours and then the failed message doesn't tell you which email it is referring to. When I rang to report this the rep told me they knew about it but it wasn't their fault, it was some company they deal with and when I asked when it would be put right they said they didn't know and made me feel as though I was making a fuss over nothing. Service not fit for purpose.

I cancelled my account with them within days of signing up due to the poor customer service - they appear to only be there Mon-Fri 9-5! But since then they have continued to charge me every month in spite of emails. Now I have to fill in forms etc from Barclaycard to get their standing order cancelled because they will not do it.

I have used Easyspace for about four years to host small business websites. They have always been excellent and we have used them for over 50 websites. The support staff have been really helpful and all of our business owners have been pleased with the service. If you want cheap, reliable hosting for a basic website you cant go wrong with Easyspace in my experience. Well recommend easyspace.com.

Over charged me from the beginning, should have known then that there was a problem. Then their service was poor, mail server kept crashing, then they moved me to a new server and cocked up the MX records. Site went down on a number of occasions. Then when I finally had the hump they told me I had to pay a £15 administration charge to move the domain to another comapny and that the interruption in service was not their fault.
I wouldn't recommend then to my worst enemy.....

Business dedicated servers went down and were not rectified for over a week. Poor ticket response, support lines take an age to be answered when i have tried to get through. 'Experienced' staff have fed me poor information, no out of hours support, call back promises have not been satisfied and the worst of all over billing... taking funds from accounts twice on several occasions.

I ordered a VPS Windows Premium server last Thursday for around £30 per month with no setup fee. I'm very impressed with the value for money. Ping to my server is aroundn 80ms.

You can hardly tell the server virtual, it downloads files from the Microsoft website at 4.5mb/sec and is very quick at hosting it's content.

It only allows 1 remote desktop connection, so if your connection to remote desktop was disconnected improperly - sometimes you have to wait a while before it allows you ...

From the moment I ordered a Virtual Server I had nothing but problems; in fact, the service never worked as far as I am aware. Further to this, their support was very unhelpful I found and they made me feel as though they were doing you a favour, when in fact, they did absolutely nothing to resolve the problem within the required SLA.

    I do not recommend Easyspace.com.

I would not recommend Easyspace to my worst enemy. They overcharge for a stone-age service. They deny responsibility for their own shortcomings and one has to resort to legal action to make them do the basics. They are STILL (today) mispublishing MX records that were changed when we transferred out three months ago. Despite presenting them with visual evidence of this from their own servers, they continue to deny.

Utterly horrific - like all bad companies they will surely go down. Good ri ...

Day 1, Friday: Ordered Virtual Dedicated Server. Server was setup a number of hours later. Latency to virtual server was 5000ms - 6000ms and packet loss was high with intermittent complete loss of connection. Traceroute showed problem was clearly on their network. Needing to get something up and running by the following Monday, I contacted them and they said they would look into it. Hours later with no improvement, I opened a virtual server account with 1&1 (which was available in minutes and ha ...

My 'Platinum Plus' hosting expires on Sep 22nd 2008, but ES have been asking me quite a lot I feel to renew/upgrade. They don't do the Platinum Plus option so I opted for a 'Pick N Mix' option. As soon as I had paid my money online, my website went down and my email stopped working. To cut a long story short, Easyspace cancelled my previous website and created a new, empty 'website' in its place. All my email - 4 years worth - is in limbo at the moment, I can't forward it to myself, it just gets ...

As the rest of the reviews my experience was bad, I experienced the following problems:

Tickets not been answered or resolved and support in general was unhelpful I felt.

Clients not able to send emails to easyspace registered domains, this was resolved when webspace and email was moved to another provider

Spam emails - Easyspace filtering system is no existent and they ask you pay an extra fee for spam filtering which is completely useless in my experience

Support for CMS systems is poor to ...

There are very little good points about this hosting in my experience. It works some of the time for me. The customer service is unhelpful. The tech support people were just as bad in my opinion. My site was down for several days before it got sorted out and as far as I am aware they have not apologised. They are not easy at all to work with I felt.
