    Good Points: Nice looking hi-fi, good sound


    Bad Points: Will not play DVD-R (even though it should )


    General comments: The JVC UX-P550 is a nice looking little hi-fi with a good sound.
    This model is a DVD micro hi-fi that should according to the instructions play DVD-R.
    While it plays shop bought DVD's with no problems.
    I have yet to find a DVD-R that will work.
    Every time I insert a DVD-R I get a message onscreen saying CANNOT PLAY THIS DISC.
    I have tried several DVD-R media with no joy.
    I have up to now sent three e-mails to JVC asking them for assistance or an answer. I am still awaiting a reply. It seems that once they get your money they don't care.
    It is the fact that it wont play DVD-R and JVC's don't care attitude that the overall rating is marked down.
