Good Points: Amazing tone and playability
Bad Points: N/A
General comments: I was not a fan of Fender Telecasters and had no intention of buying one when I picked up my Highway One. I was in the guitar shoppe jerking around with some Stratocasters and after playing everyone in the store I picked up the Telecaster and plugged it in. We'll that was it, started playing some RHCP stuff and Zeppelin and promptly unplugged it and brought it up to counter and bought it on the spot. Ridiculous feel, it's like an baseball mitt that has been well broken in, smooth playing guitar and the tone is so sweet. I will never let this guitar go, ever...I now understand why it has been around for so long and so many artists have used it over the years. A must for any guitarists collection.

This is a wonderful instrument with great tone. All three pickup positions offer rich, harmonic filled tones. The guitar twangs like a tele with clean amp settings and drives the high gain amp settings to a nice saturated and compressed tone.

The single coils get noisy quite easily, and you can get really dirty grungy sounds with the right amp and settings. I think it is a very versatile guitar. Mine is losing lacquer fast, but I like it looking shabby because I am a shabby player in a shabby band. It is a real telecaster - made in the US (although why that should mean anything, I don't know - the fender factories probably employ mexicans in th ...

I've have a large collection of guitars, and I love to do compare them and share my thoughts.
The Fender Highway One Telecaster is a good value and great replica of the original Telecaster's. Like the originals they have a wonderful neck, are easy to play, and have great action and access to the high frets. Like the originals they have a thin sound, which is a little dirty and raw. Some like that sound (Keith Richards, Bruce Springsteen etc.), and some don't.
I classify this guitar as a ...
