My second visit, wasnt too impressed first time but thought id give it another try with different people- sorry no change. The staff were fine apart from the false italian accents they put on!
The food looks good but its very tastless, i had a pasta dish, which i love but there was no flavour, acouple of my party had a calzone pizza which looked lovely on the plate but again quite tasteless so dont think ill be back in a hurry and i wouldnt recommend it to friends even though the prices are... We visit Pane e Vino's Italian restaurant whenever theres a family celebration, as the food is consistently good quality, the staff friendly and the cost reasonable. Cant ask for more than that.
We have also used their takeaway service which is great because we can have a nice meal with a bottle of wine (which they will also deliver) all without worrying about cooking or a babysitter. Always delivered hot and quickly.
Highly recommended. (read more)

Its my first time going to this resturant and I will defo not be going back!
The staff were lovely, could not complain. Service was great.
1 thing that really bothered me was I ordered Spag bolonaise, IT came out piled high on the plate, and honestly it looked (and tasted) like a cheap microwave meal from farmfoods! Although everyone else in my party really enjoyed their food, I dont know if it just depends on what you order to how nice it is. Would not go back.. but others disagree.

went here recently for dinner. although i had not been for a while, i remembered the food to be fantastic from previous experiences. however, on this occasion i was totally disgusted with the food! the pasta was froma packet and not fresh, there was hardly any meat in my dish (spag bol) and also was utterly tasteless. will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone. want good traditional homemade italian the i would suggest marinos on st clair street. absolutely fabulous 10/10 :) (read more)

This is the only Italian restaurant in Fife that serves Gluten-free pasta if you request it. Great for those of us that love Italian, but can't eat out as we're not catered for. I think this shows that this restaurant actually cares about their customers! I've been going there for about two years now, works nights out, with the other half, friends lunch and evening - never had a bad experience, and I've eaten all over the world. They make you very welcome - the waiters are friendly and the... (read more)

Fantastic little restaurant, we have attended both as bookings and as walk ins and never ever have been hurried out. Staff are all very accomodating, chef happy to prepare meals not on the menu. Super portions, excellent value for money, can suit all budgets. Atmosphere great, yes they do sing happy birthday which sometimes can happen a few times a night but this just adds to the atmosphere. The waiting staff are brilliant, very helpful and Tony is great too, they always make you feel... (read more)

Having dined in many of Kirkcaldy's eateries I have now decided that there is only one place to go for good food every time that being Pane Vino's. As well as the food always being good the service is also very good too, waiters and staff friendly and welcoming. There is only one minor failing of this as well as every other restuarant that being the price of the vine, otherwise I would and have recommended this restuarant to many friends and family, have the soup for starter its always very tasty. Italan Pane E Vino is a fabulous Italian! I have been dining at this restaurant for years with family, friends and work colleagues. It is fantastic value for money. Visited Italian Pane E Vino last night and on the third time being there and saying we won't be back every time, this time it is certain, we were constantly badgered to order, three different waiters approached two minutes apart to take our order when we insisted we were not ready, i ordered the asparagus with butter and parmesan to start (out of sheer pressure to order) when i got it the dish consisted of 4 pieces of overcooked stringy asparagus swimming in butter with a little parmesan on... I have dined at Pane E Vino's many times - for birthdays (they play you a "happy birthday" song when they bring out your cake!, work nights out (they have a bar and there are pubs nearby too), dinner with friends and romantic meals.
The food is delicious, they give you good helpings and the staff are pleasant and helpful. the restaurant itself is well organised and nice and cosy inside. They cater for all ages and have disabled access.

At Pane e Vino I made the mistake of having a pizza which was still cold and soggy in the middle. I would recommend the tuna salad as no cooking is involved although the tuna looks to me as though it is out of a can.
However, on a more positive note if you are careful what you order its a fine place to go for a quick and cheap meal. (read more)

I went to Italian Pane E Vino for the first time recently with my partner and some friends and I can only say that I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone who is looking for an informal evening with good food and great atmosphere. The only fault I could possibly find was the chips that were likened to those you get at McDonalds but heyho it wouldnt be enough to put me off going again. Really good food, excellent service and quite reasonably priced. (read more)

I've been to Pane E Vino's a few times by friends for their birthday dinners, mainly I guess for the reason that they get a tacky birthday song blasted out of the speakers when the cake arrives...this happens at least twice a night, there always seems to be a birthday table there. I think the only people who like the food are those who haven't actually eaten at a good Italian restaurant. Food is very average and the atmosphere is just cheap. (read more)

Pan E Vino was disappointing. One would expect from an italian restaurant authentic italian food. Upon ordering the pizza funghi from the lunchtime menu I was astonished when what I was served looked a bit like frozen pizza with some mushrooms scattered on top. It would have been cheaper to buy a pizza from the supermarket across the road and bake it myself. Some of the staff were impersonal and distant. (read more)

Pane E Vino sells good quality food at excellent prices. The staff generally are very friendly and helpful. I have been going there for over 10 years on a weekly basis, and I have never had a complaint, and my basis for comparison is of a high standard being well travelled and a regular at the Gleneagles hotel.

Very rushed - the waiter at Pane E Vino in Kirkaldy brought our main courses when we were half way through the starters.
I told him we were not finished our starters, but he just laid the main courses on the table.
I was more annoyed at myself later as I should have demanded he take them away, but you hear so many awful stories about meals returned to the kitchen.
It's a pity, as the food is always good to excellent, but they must get some customers that will not go back a second time. (read more)

The food at the Pane E Vino Italian restaurant in Kirkaldy is generally quite good, but you are rushed through every course. A member of my party (whose birthday it was) was reduced to tears after her "dealings" with the manager. She had wrongly ordered, and he wasted no time in telling her so, and did not even offer to replace the meal with the intended one. It certainly was not a "happy" birthday and none of us will be back (neither will our friends). No point in complaining though -... (read more)

It is situated right in the centre of Kirkcaldy, and occupies a building that used to belong to the Post Office. The central post office is no longer there, and the buildings they once owned now house Thunder Road [a popular music bar], Kitty's [a good venue usually with live music], a hotel and further along the street lies The Pane E Vino. It is minutes from the bus and train station, and a large Tesco is diagonal across the road and it is approximately 2 minutes away from the rest of... (read more)

Food was below average at Italian Pane E Vino. The whole plate of smoked salmon straight out of a packet, was rather warm, and the potatoes were soggy - fillet steak was more like a sirloin. It was very noisy and you feel rushed from start to finish.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a relaxed night out, you almost have to shout to be heard by anyone. This reminds me of being in the school canteen and it definitely feels like it. (read more)
