“Good drinks but machine a bit temperamental”

I've owned this machine for a little over 2 years and it produces excellent quality drinks and coffee in particular. It does seem to suffer from 'random' glitches where it wont read a disc but turning it on and off usually cures this ailment. Overall, I am not sure if i would buy another one due to the noise and bulky nature of the machine but I am enjoying it while I have it. (read more)

Feb. 10-12 called to let Tassimo that the paRt that reads the bar code was fogging over. Arranged to have a new one shipped and when it came Mar.11-12, it was the wrong colour. Sent it back two days later. After "Many" calls and being left on hold for 10-20 min. each time the new machine arrived May. 23. The noise that this one makes is very loud and today the disc exploded, what a mess. Called again today....25min. on the phone only to be told "Superviser is busy". THEY WILL CALL ME BACK... Just after a couple of years our machine started to lick and trip our electrics as well :-(((( Rang Tassimo customer care and they weren't helpful at all all they said i should descale it, how can i yet it trips my electris everytime i turn it on and i was told to purchase another one after spending £135.00 2 years back. My mum purchased one after us and has had to send it back because of various issues :-((( Having researched more about Tassimo, we aren't the only ones who suffer from this... (read more)

I have had one of these for several years and overall I am pleased, however the discs are a little bit on the expensive side. My machine sometimes will not say it is ready and I have to turn it off at the wall and on again, never really got to the bottom of it. A bit bulky on the kitchen worktop but the quality of the drinks it produces is second to none, better that Starbucks or anything like that. You can import a range of discs for it from germany via ebay or amazon, all sorts of obscure... (read more)

Just out of warranty, the water level sensor of this Braun/Tassimo machine failed to turn off the boiler when the reservoir ran low, resulting in internal overheated. Coffee now has a burned rubber smell (and probably taste too!) so is undrinkable. Braun/Kraft not interested - put me in touch with a repairer at my expense. I'll be saving my money and buying a proper machine from another manufacturer - if such a thing exists.

had the machine 2 years and love the easy way it makes coffee the pods are very expensive if you drink a lot of coffee mine is very leaky in fact it is now pouring out of the overflow this must be a very bad fault you cant even find where the water is coming from, and if there is a blockage somewhere i fact i am worried it could be dangerous (read more)

I have a Braun Tassimo machine and it is the best machine that I have ever owned. I love my coffee and this one is the best. I see in stores they have another company that makes the Tassimo, but I don't like it as much as the original Braun Tassimo, it's the better of them all. So easy to use and very durable. Owned the Tassimo machine for many years now and I wouldn't be without it.Great coffee every time (particularly Cafe Crema) and although the machine is a bit leaky now it has been very reliable.Wouldn't hesitate to go out and buy a new model if and when this one calls it a day.
Only problem now is I can't find anywhere that offers a coffee as good so it's taken away the pleasure of the coffee shop experience.

Braun machine owned for 3 years better in almost every way. Bosch machine looks better but we have had to replace 3 machines that have been faulty and are now giving up and switching to another which works (read more)

The Braun Tassimo machine itself is good - customer care and service is non existent. Bought as a Christmas present and although first machine did not work, the retailer exchanged it. On registering, I was promised a "welcome pack " in January. Still waiting at beginning of May!!
Customer services full of feeble excuses initially and don't even bother to acknowledge e - mails now so have given up in disgust

We have had our Braun Tassimo for 3 years and would not be without it. Its getting a bit tired now and has slowed up in the amount of time it takes to brew. But i would advise that you pre heat the cups or warm the milk before you put the cup in the machine. (read more)

I love fresh coffee, enjoy it as an occasional treat and was thrilled when I received a Tassimo as a gift. Excitement quickly turned to disappointment. The creamer was appalling so I tried again with hot milk and a fresh coffee pod. The result was insipid so I added a second pod. In the end I added some instant coffee which completely defeated the object of the exercise.
In short it's an expensive way to end up with an inferior cup of coffee.
If you like decent, full flavoured coffee then...

I have just bought the Tassimo 40xx from my local Sainsburys for £99 along with 4 boxes of T Discs (£10). Overall I am very pleased although I would not recommend the Cappuccino drinks as the milk tastes very artificial. You are better off buying either the Cafe Creme or the Espresso and adding your own hot milk. The machine is now made by Bosch and looks fantastic. It is so neat it could be used in the bedroom, I am sure it beats the old Tesmade! (read more)

So what is this machine then?
Its a small, smart and neat instant filter coffee machine that can also make teas and hot chocolate in less than 60 seconds!
The machine is smaller than the pictures do it justice it is actually slightly larger than our 4 slice toaster and doesn't look out of place at all.
The machine itself has the water reservoir on the rear which can be filled by removing it or just taking off the lid and topping it up, when full it will be enough to make approx 4 mugs of...

We have been using the Braun Tassimo Freshly Brewed Hot Drinks Machine at work between 15 people for 2 years with no hassles at all. I was so impressed I went out and bought one myself to use at home. It's easy to use.
Taste of the various coffes.
Can dispense tea.
Looks great.

I really like my Braun Tassimo machine yes it's flawed (Tea, cost of pods, size of Hot Chocolate) but if you like a proper tasting cup of coffee without having to scat about in your freezer for the ground coffee you put there last Christmas (come on admit it, we've all done it!) then you'll like it. The coffee is a bit of an acquired taste if you're only used to drinking instant as the taste is much stronger, but you soon get used to it and I won't drink anything else now.
It's quite noisy...

I was given this as a present and i feel guilty that I don't like it and don't want to use it.
I would not recommend buying one. Looking around it looks like the Senseo machines offer a refillable holder for your own coffee. This would lower costs and waste.
The Braun website carefully avoids the question of recycling the capsules - it only talks of the cardboard box and the wrapper.

I bought the Braun Tassimo Freshly Brewed Hot Drinks Machine on the basis of some of the reviews I had read.I have an extremely versed experience in all matters related to Italian coffee and cappuccino and in my opinion this machine produces coffee more akin to a filter coffee maker and nowhere near to that of a cappuccino, let alone an espresso.The latte type drink produced is really a filter coffee with some insignificant white froth on the top which looks nothing like cream and most... Great kitchen gadget that is really easy to use and to clean.
Although I am satisfied with my Tassimo I must point out that is the 3rd one I have had as the first one didn't even work then I had a replacement then that one packed in a few months down the line and the 3rd one has lasted over a year so going well......................

Most kitchen 'toys' are used a few times and then transferred to the loft. My Tassimo is used by the whole family every day and has been since I purchased it nearly two years ago. Not only does it brew excellent tea and coffee and make delicious hot chocolate it does so blissfully easily. It's easy to keep clean and when I lost the cleaning disc I just telephoned Tassimo and they put another in the post free of charge.
If ever it breaks down I shall have to go straight out and buy...

My husband and I got given a Tassimo as a present and, at first, were very excited. However, the novelty soon wore off and we now only use it occasionally for tea and, when we are feeling flush, cappuccino. With cappuccinos you only get 9 small cups per box (and boxes are about £3.30) as, even though there are 18 pods, you use 2 per cup (one espresso and one creamy milk), so not great value when you drink 2 - 3 cups a day!
Despite the tasty cappuccinos, the normal coffee/coffee crema never...

I have been using french t-discs in my Tassimo with no problems - you can buy them off the UK Tassimo website. Not tried the american ones yet.

The Braun Tassimo Freshly Brewed Hot Drinks Machine is easy on the eye when left on the kitchen counter. It makes good coffee, whichever coffee you choose, and the price is also right.
Unfortunately, whichever coffee you make, the machine spits out water from the water spillage area. I called customer service and they gave me a dim-witted explanation.

The Braun Tassimo freshly brewed hot drinks machine tea is o.k but the hotchoclate ok the coffe is horrid and the capachino is vial. I bought my machine from costco the first one broke in two weeks and the second a following three weeks. A family member has the same machine and is on the third one and has finally given up with it. if you like cappachino it is an expensive machine to run. I bought a Braun Tassimo in the New Year, thinking I would treat myself. I have to say that it hasn't disappointed. I love the fact that all my friends want to come round to mine for coffee rather than going out, which saves the pennies too! It was exchanged by Comet, but the replacement would not even switch on.
I returned it to Comet for a refund.

I bought our Braun Tassimo hot drinks machine for my partners 30th birthday party. It was a great party piece. We spent hours in the kitchen making coffee. Funny how people who never drink coffee all of a sudden do!!!
Ours came from Sainsbury's with a packet of Cafe Creme and Tea pods included.
The hot chocolate is lovely, but because I personally drink weak coffee, I am struggling to find a brew that is weak enough for me.
I agree with the cleaning part. No more rinsing pipes etc. ...

I bought the Braun Tassimo freshly brewed hot drinks machine because I had long been after the Senseo machine, but came across the Tassimo on the web, and it just made the Senseo look like a poor relation.
It's a compact cool design, and the ease at which you can make a cup of pretty much any hot drink, is amazing, for me it's replaced my Kettle and Coffee maker all in one. In a TV ad break, if I want a cup of Coffee, I get one in 30 seconds, unlike a Kettle/Coffee Maker, where you end up...

I like a choice of drinks so I've traded up my old expresso maker and bought a Braun Tassimo machine.
It's a bit like a smaller, funkier vending machine that you see in cool offices. It uses a T-disc system, which basically are plastic pods containing hot chocolate (Suchard...mmmm!), tea and various coffees. The discs have barcodes which tell the machine how to brew the drinks. These slot into the machine and hot water pumps through in a similar way to an Expresso machine.

I was told by the person demonstrating the machine at the store, that the t-discs will soon be available in the grocery stores. That was my deciding factor on buying this machine versus the Keurig machine. Now I will be able to buy more coffee and drink it the same day!

<br/>It is a shame the discs aren't more readily available, for example when you buy in a supermarket or on the Tassimo website.
