    Good Points: Detailed and intelligent political, military and economic challenges based on real events and possibilities. A game for broadsheet readers, not tabloids.

    Bad Points: No graphics for battles that would thrill joy-stick addicts.

    General comments: A very good game with many options to explore.

    Hearts of Iron 2: After 2 patches - game killing bugs - have brought promise from Paradox management to provide patch # 3. Game engine does not provide possibility to alter WWII history (whole purpose of a PC GAME is to provide a what-if possibility for the future Rommels-Montgomerys-Pattons. In 1936 campaign-playable game ends after Germany overruns France. Never managed to finish a game as boredom sets in at midpoint. Graphics are inferior to earlier effort, HOI-I.
