My husband and I have just came back from Wicked musical. It was a gift for my birthday. I must say that sadly we are very disappointed with the show. It was extremely boring, poor story which made no sense, noisy singing, songs not catchy at all, average dancing. The plot was boring. It was not funny either. We wanted to leave at the interval, but decided to stay and give a second chance. Unfortunately, the second half was not better at all. I almost slept at the end. The only interesting... (read more)

A terrible experience. A very poor script, scenery was dull and unimaginative. Voices were not distinct. Wanted to leave at the interval but thought it might improve. It didn't, it was dull and boring throughout. (read more)

I went with my husband and three teenage daughters as a family treat as the girls had been wanting to see it for some time. I have been to many of the west end shows, love musicals and usually get totally emotionally involved with them. Unfortunately, 'Wicked' didn't engage my husband, my 18 year old daughter or myself at all. We found the songs extremely dull, tuneless and unmoving - perhaps because the script didn't allow the characters to become emotionally convincing. I was so bored,... (read more)

Went with my daughter for a 'treat' - I am in my fifties and my daughter is in her twenties. We were so disappointed by lack of storyline, no variation in the music - two soprano voices belting out dull dull songs - we left during the interval. The special effects were impressive but could not merit us staying any longer. (read more)

I have now seen this show 3 times and each time it has been brilliant. The cast and scenery make this a fantastic show, a show which caters for the whole family. Matt Willis was in the latest show I show but have to admit he has not been as good as his predecessors. However Rachel Tucker- has an amazing voice and stage prescence and its worth seeing the show just for her. The theatre is very close to Victoria underground station. Prices are reasonable if you hunt down the bargains. I... (read more)

Wicked is one of the best musicals I have ever scene! All the costume, music and scenery is fantastic! After it had finished, I was singing along to all the songs and buying the FULL soundtrack! It's obsessive! Wicked is exciting and mind-blowing! Anyone can see it! It's about the 2 witches from the 'Wizard of Oz', Glinda and Elphaba,Rachel Tucker (Elphaba) was AMAZING! Her voice and acting skills are well....WICKED! It's a must see production! The music was perfect for every drama. The... (read more)

The worst show I have ever had to sit through. We were very tempted not to go back to our seats after the interval. Theatre was only 2/3 full and there were large parties of school children which shows that they must be selling the seats off cheaply so we feel very ripped off at having paid £80 plus per seat for our pre booked seats. Has put us off London theatre for a while, very very bad value for money not a pleasant evening out. (read more)

Whilst visiting the city of New York on February 16th, I watched the Broadway Company’s version of the prequel to the Wizard of Oz. The show was called Wicked; the lead character, the witch (Elphaba), is played by Donna Vivino. Donna Vivino is an actress who has played roles in the Broadway productions of: Hairspray, Martin Short: Fame Becomes me, Saturday Night Fever, and the original Young Cosette in Les Miserbles. She was a fantastic actress. The play is not in chronological order as it... (read more)

The worst musical I've ever seen, I feel very sorry for the cast because the main problem is a very poor script and abysmal songs. The whole production is clunky and awkward, to be honest I've seen better productions at provincial theatre pantomimes, this is not the quality you expect from a major London theatre. My wife and I saw the new Wizard of Oz production in London late last year and it's in a completely different league to this show. We were not alone in our opinion, half the group... (read more)

Wicked is by far the best thing in the west end now, it's the best for sets, costumes and pure magic. It is worth every penny and gives inspiration to all who see it, the story is great and I can't see why some people dislike it. The current cast are great and each time I go they have made a little change which makes a big diffrence. Some may think it's too loud and not good quality dining but I disagree, once you know the story and it's meaning you will be changed 'for good' you don't have... (read more)

The only good thing about Wicked is the theatre location and its ease to get to. It is only a stones throw from Victoria tube, so is Billy Elliot which we have already seen and thoroughly enjoyed. Wicked starts of with what could only be described as a tuneless mob all trying to out sing each other, it doesn't get much better through the show. The dialogue is hard to hear yet the singing deafens you. I hate to admit it but I actually nodded off through the show. I did not like to mention it... (read more)

AMAZING! This is a must-see, no doubt! Wicked was a fun, thrilling, and remarkable adventure. This play may be just a bit confusing for children under the age of 7 or 8, but it shouldn't matter, because they will be caught up in all the intense, fun, fast-paced rhythm of the extraordinary music incorporated in the show. I found this show very disappointing it was too long, painfully slow and I couldnt wait for it to end. The story line was very weak and I found it a bore. Believe the hype! The most popular show of the decade.
Trust me, when they say that, they mean that something WICKED this way comes.
Catch the pun, Wicked, as it's used so many times to describe what a spectacular masterpiece this is!
It's a very clever story-telling prophecy and a twist on the beloved classic Wizard of Oz. However, the wicked witch is not all what you think. Spoilers will not be given out as it will ruin the surprise of the show but if anything, Wicked is an absolute must...

Wicked is a truly amazing musical, and one that I feel privileged to see. I was at first loathe to believe all the hype that I had heard about Wicked; how could one musical be deserving of so much praise. However, my opinion changed "For Good" once I had seen the musical. Spellbinding songs and enchanting performances, I was hooked from the first note. I was pretty disappointed by this musical. Having recently seen the fantastic Oliver, I was all ready to believe the hype about Wicked. Oliver is so good because of the excellent songs, characters and story - which are all fatally weak points in Wicked. There are one, maybe two, memorable songs but the rest are instantly forgettable and barely relevant. The cast did well enough with the material and the special effects and staging were quite impressive. However the real problem is the plot,... (read more)

This show is absolutely fantastic; a must see musical. It will have you rolling on the floor laughing one minute, and crying the next, and some of the solo performances will send shivers down your spine!!
The only bad point - the older males. Some of the songs seem a bit low, and the musical doesn't really acheive anything with songs like 'A Sentimental Man'. An exception to this is 'Wonderful'- a truly wonderful song!! (excellent performance too!)
I would recommend this musical to anyone!

Some of the reviews here seem to be angry about the fact that the audience aren't getting the message from the show properly, and as such are marking the musical itself down. I find it weird that people are more interested in watching the audience and how they are reacting than the show itself; every person will get different things out of a show, and each are entitled to enjoy it their own way.
Arguably, the very fact that Wicked can be enjoyed on so many levels is a strength of the show -...

An absolutely incredible musical in every respect. Fantastic singers, dancers, outstanding music, staging, lighting, and sets. Would most definitely go and see it again - the only thing I can think of saying I didn't like about it, is that one particular set peice, the giant dragon, seemed a little pointless and unrelated to the plot etc.

Wicked - Once was enough.
I've loved musicals all my life, but I have to say I really didn't like this one.
The green witch is hated from birth, and the result of an unplanned pregancy. A love song is made into a song of loathing, and Galinda glorifies being popular. Unfortunately, tons of teenie boppers are singing the song wanting to be popular, not recognizing it's a cautionary tale...
When I scanned the audience as the wizard was singing his solo about the stroking of ego and giving...

Well I was really looking forward to seeing Wicked, I'd been wanting to see it for over a year now and someone got me tickets for a present so I was so excited. Unfortunately I was extremely let down and even bored. I was expecting an edgy, slightly dark, spiky, catchy musical and instead it was like high school musical with a green faced girl.

From the moment the dragon towering above the stage came to life to signal the beginning of the show, I was spellbound in my seat.
