Good Points: None.
General comments: The mailzone email server seems to go down every few months and then takes days to come back into operation. This time emails started taking two days to come at the end of last week Oct 30th 2008 and the server has been completely down the last three days. You can never get any information other than a person saying they are aware of the problem and seeking a speedy resolution. It is certainly the third time in the last 12 months this has happened. Totally pathetic.
Why can they not put out a proper staus report with an explanation as what the problem is and a proper time for resolution.

Highly unreliable especially the mail server in my opinion.I personally believe it to be very slow to respond sometimes. The BT digital demo page will arrive in seconds but the the onetel server is often much busier and slower.I pay for 2.5Mbps but experience 0.5 download and 0.25 upload, very frustrating service in my experience, probably better to pay more for decent reliability and speed for me anyway. I do not recommend One Tel.net.

I took out broadband with onetel about 3 year sago. To start with they were good but as soon as Talk Talk took them over the service has been deteriating for me. Like a fool I let them talk me into staying with them for another 12 months at a reduced rate, which is thankfully nearly over, but even this new price was soon more than I could get elsewhere.

In my experience, unhelpful service, Email service keeps breaking down on me and in my opinion they are so big that they do not seem to care.
I do not recommend One Tel.

Everything at One Tel is OK, except for the problem with logging to the One Tel portal home page, which I cannot get. Every time I try to log on I am unable to get through. It has happened for about several days, and I am still unable to log on to the home page.

Overall One Tel is a good service, but I'd be inclined to check the contention ratio for your area before purchasing for yourselves. Service may be better if you are in an area offering 2 Meg or 8 Meg.

Have swapped from OneTelto UKonline - much more helpful - cheap monthly costs and I have it 24 hours a day - so not my computer/modem/etc - Onetel refused compensation even after 1 year of substandard broadband.

Very poor the whole One Tel web system needs scrapping and Talk Talk need to TALK to somebody who knows how to set up a web mail system! When accessing the mail pages through a web connection The pages never seem to load properly or take an absolute age to eventually come up even on broadband. I access other mail providers regulaly like BT and their pages come up instantly and they have a lot more content!

In terms of customer service Onetel are truly awful. I notified Onetel (now part of TalkTalk) in early February that my mother, a customer of Onetel, had passed away at the end of January. My intention was to maintain continuity of the phone service at my mothers home and to set up a new account in my name. To help matters, I sent them a copy of the death certificate. They promptly suspended the phone line and without explanation wrote that I would have to contact BT to have the line restored. ...

Keep as far away from One Tel as it is possible to keep if you value your sanity. I am changing as soon as possible. No one ever knew anything about the fault I had reported several times, they denied it was their responsibility and eventually (after a particular Basil Fawlty moment) I finally got them to sort it out - but they should really provide sedatives. The Broadband team are actually quite good although they refuse to admit that my service keeps dropping out - strange that I should pe ...

we decided to use onetel in 2005 on one of our phone bills the amount came to £120 and £83 was for premium rate numbers. On contacting the customer service line which is in India, i could not get any info on this premium rate number. They have also owed us money but despite numerous contacts with them its still owing

I switched from Demon to get the One Tel package benefit, after over two years with no Demon service outages, and a free upgrade to 2mbps service. Switching was fine, but as soon as we had switched to One Tel we found very slow page loading, although the Netgear router reported a 2.2mbps connection constantly. One Tel admitted server faults for customers with oneteldsl8 addresses, and promised a fix in TWO weeks. THREE weeks later still no improvement with the service. Now I am looking for ano ...

Overall I am happy with the One Tel sevice, they aren't the cheapest, but so far I have no problems and no 'down time' on my broadband connection.
One Tel are geared up to deal with technical queries from Apple Mac users. I have been talked through issues step-by-step on a number of occasions when I have had technical problems. Some companies don't know what to advise you unless you work on a PC and that really annoys me!

Onetel (www.onetel.net) provided the most appalling customer service I have ever encountered. The first 6 months went fine - service worked most of the time. After that I moved house and Onetel said they would transfer the service to my new house. This never happened, despite writing to them three times and phoning innumerable times (each time getting put on hold for 20-40 minutes, going through one Customer service agent after another). After 4 months I cancelled my direct debit as it was appar ...

I was a bit sceptical about going to One Tel because I have always been with Tesco Internet but unfortunately cannot have Tesco in my area as the exchange cannot provide it, but interestingly enough One Tel could and what a fantastic experience this has been and still is I might add! Quick as lightning and if you have a problem the staff are always polite and never flustered. I have downloaded music and this has just gone down a storm and was pretty impressive with the download time it took.
