Good Points: You get a certificate of insurance so no un-insured driving issues with the police.
Bad Points: Customer service is poor, if you have to make a claim they cant be bothered to keep you up to date, they don't provide the information they promise. Can't get through to the call centre for at least 30 mins.
General comments: Zurich insurance is OK, as long as you dont have to make a claim. The policy is reasonably priced. I had to make a claim as a result of a van pulling out from a side road and colliding with me. I provided them with all the information, which they lost and didn ' t ask any questions and just settled the claim against me. I wasn ' t told me car was being repaired and wasn ' t told it was repaired until the body shop rang me wanting to charge me for storage as the car had been ready for 3 weeks and Zurich hadn't informed me of this. Left them to take this up with Zurich. Would avoid Zurich even if it means paying hundreds of pounds more, its just not worth the bother. You really do get what you pay for.

We set up a policy with Zurich Car Insurance a year ago and we've managed to go through two claim procedures - one: not at fault, the other one: single car accident, so from Zurich point of view at fault. When not at fault: we were given a brand new Volvo V70 (we insured a P-reg Volvo S40) as a courtesy car, we kept it until we received a cheque for old car (write off), which was about 6 weeks after the incident. It wasn't that nice after the single car accident - we got a Matiz from Enterprise ...

Only minor damage to my vehicle (innocent party) but repairs were a whopping FIVE WEEKS. I was told various reasons for this initially but then they settled on a parts supply problem. Contacted vehicle manufacturer and was informed there was no problem whatsoever with the parts requested. -- ?? My vehicle also managed to acquire further damage, somehow, after being collected - the repairer did deny any responsibility for this. Would I consider Zurich (Skoda) insurance again? What do you think?

They're refusing to give me a valuation on my written-off car, they have been refusing to pay up too. Simple accident, other guy's fault, very cut and dry, happened October of last year. Still no money and every time I call them they give me the run around and are evasive and basically rude. They want all documents before they hand over money which is a)wrong b)against DVLA advice c)leaves me without a leg to stand on d)against police advice e)against trading standards advice f)the list goes on. ...

All the good scores and comments on this site are for people who haven't yet made a claim pretty much, and for us, Zurich were fine to start with. I'm the named driver and I reported the accident the same day, long conversation all about the accident, details, etc. I then liaised with them and their appointed repairer, at length, a number of times, again discussing details of the policy and the accident, the car, its value, etc. It took a number of weeks to finally get someone to look at it and ...

The price is good, considering I didn't have any no claims discount. I wouldn't necessarily use them again, as I prefer to talk to someone to arrange cover and make sure I am getting exactly what I want and need.

Zurich Private Clients - Square Mile Insurance Services are a great brokerage, who know the market and make it really easy to sort out insurance. They are not really interested in insuring one off mundane stuff though.

I actually came to Eagle Star car insurance (Zurich is trading in Ireland as Eagle Star) through one of my previous employers who had a special deal with them for employees. Since then, I have been with them and every year at renewal time. I make a quick check with some other insurance companies, but Zurich remains the cheapest for me.

We have two cars insured with Zurich. We stay with Zurich because they have paid out for a no fault rear end claim made last year without quibble, and included a rental car.
The panel beater we were required to use (area Bath; Avon) gave poor service and had an 8 week waiting list for a courtesy car. We had to take the car back twice to have the rear gate panel secured and repaired properly.

Price was the main factor of buying from them. This was priced via confused.com. Easy form to complete and had no hassles.
Not 100% cover, there are add on's, but my car is not worth a lot and I was happy.
Overall I have had no problems with the Zurich Car Insurance, and if their premium is reasonable I will stay with them.

I've been insured with Zurich for 4 years (motor), and simultaneously for 3 years (home). I've always been pleased with the premiums (although not the cheapest) and the service - until I had to make my first ever motor claim following an accident...
It is now 25 days since the accident, and I only yesterday managed to get hold of the engineer who has valued my old car (below it's current market value of course). I now have to do all the running around to provide evidence of the real value of ...

I took out Zurich car insurance because I believed them to offer the same service as the other providers, but at a much lower cost. I think I saved about £150 compared to other insurance companies. Ii also included Green Flag road assistance and a courtesy car if I ever needed one...
...and I did. I had a car accident, and so I called up Zurich when I got home from hospital at about 1am. Brilliant, another person on the end of the phone line. What they make you "gloss over" is the fact th ...

I recently changed over my car insurance from the AA to Zurich. I had been with the AA for a few years and noticed their prices creeping up, so decided this time when the renewal came through I would actually shop around. I'm glad I did, as now with Zurich I have a much better deal, which also includes Green Flag National Breakdown cover. I saved myself over £200! Zurich's site was straight forward and easy to use, and I found their customer service department to be very helpful (which is ...
