I was recently hit by a Zurich-insured driver and so far I have had to do all the 'leg work' to expedite my claim. They have failed to pass on information which has left me without the promised hire car whilst mine is being repaired.I have called their so-called Third Party Care Team in India at least six times and their UK Branch Head Office in Fareham twice,(both expensive 0870 numbers). I have no gripes with the Indian call centre handlers, they are really nice but obviously very poorly trained. I had hoped to speak to someone in the UK re the poor system but could find no telephone numbers or e-mail addresses - why are they all hiding? I was told by one of the switchboard staff that there is NO-ONE in the UK to whom I could complain. If they treat Third Party claims like this heaven help the premium payers!

my biggest complaint about Zurich are their incrdibly bad call centres. I cannot begin to calculate how much time I have wasted in trying to get through to them and then trying to deal with my queries. Sadly they don't improve. There is no way to contact them other by phone which is impossible. It is making me question whether to continue with them

There is not enough time or space on this website to list all the complaints I have had with Zurich. Literally every step of my claim has been met with incompetence. Of the dozens of times I have had to phone them, not once have I been put thruogh to the right department. Promises of call backs have never materialised. It took 6 weeks to get my car repaired properly. 5 months to find out I needed a claim form and another 2 attemps to get one sent out. Inaccurate paperwork, lost correspondance.

I bought car insurance with the AA about a year ago now. I had an accident 2 months ago to which was not my fault (as someone went into the side of me).

I initially phoned AA about the accident to which they reffered me to Zurich and this is where the fun started. By the way, I would argue if the AA is not going to handle the insurance claim their name should not be on the insurance policy. This is disigenous to the exreme and as such the AA has lost any credebility it once had with me.

Zurich sent me a letter to say I had been in an accident in April. I phoned them and asked were this accident took place they did not know i informed them no accident took place. They have now sent me a letter to say my no claims protection has been removed. Phoned to tell them no accident took place they said it would be reinsated if it was found no accident took place.Meanwhile if i have an accident i loose my no claims bonus. I have been persumed guilty until proven innoccent. They have now t ...

Been without a car for over 2 weeks now and so far have only managed to achieve an enormous phonebill wasted on lenghty calls to Zurich Car Insurance who have offered no assistance at all other than to call me back, which they have not. All this for a relatively simple repair, under a policy in which I am supposed to receive a courtesey car. I'm self-employed and unable to work without a vehicle. Completely pointless exercise buying insurance with Zurich, I'm losing untold money for the sake of ...

My local authority, London Borough of Havering, insure their public liability with Zurich. I made a claim for my mother-in-law who had tripped on uneven paving, had fallen breaking her arm and her glasses and bruising her face. I was informed that certain protocols had to be followed in this type of case and as time dragged on Zurich informed me that under the terms of the protocol they had 3 months to reach a decision after they had gathered all the evidence. This meant that they could take a ...

Zurich are pretty poor to deal with, too big a company and very impersonal. They have staff that have no geographical know how. I deal with them on a daily basis. Their council customers pay their repairers and have to claim it back because it takes Zurich so long to pay for the repairs that the council's wouldn't have any one to do their work otherwise. yeh generaly pretty pathetic for a huge company

I had an accident 2 months ago (not my fault) and haven't received a single letter from Zurich Car Insurance, despite me telling them over the telephone about 10 times that I want it in writing. I've made probably 15-20 phone calls to them and they just fob you off with anything to get you off the phone and then don't do what they've promised to. I've been told they'll 'call me back' at least 3 times when they don't bother.

Their 'engineer' declared my car a total loss and offered me a paultr ...

I had an accident 2 weeks ago (not my fault) but yet I am still waiting for the engineer to give me the value of my car or to let me know its a write off. There has been little communication from Zurich insurance - I have had to spend money myself on lengthy phonecalls trying to get some answers from this crowd of useless people. I am self-employed and cannot get to my current contract because of the lack of car so am now out of pocket for wages. I am absolutely fuming.

Zurich is an absolute joke of a company. All my phone calls to them were obviuosly a complete waste of time as it would appear that they were ignored. Nearly 4 months since the accident and they havent even bothered to obtain a statement from their own driver. Looks like i am going to have to take them to court to obtain the compensation for the damage to my car which i have had to pay for out of my own pocket. I'd advise anybody that is considdering Zurich for any insurance to avoid them like t ...

How I rue the day I switched away from Direct Line to Zurich Car Insurance. Another driver backed into my parked car nearly two years ago and it still isn't sorted out. Two years! Pyramids have been built in less time! Don't bother writing to them, they don't answer. Don't bother asking for someone to call you back, they won't.The most hopeless insurance company ever.

On Confused.com Zurich Car Insurance showed £250 excess but when I telephoned to book the insurance it was increased to £650 because I was insuring a performance car - I thought I had already entered on Confused.com which type of vehicle I was insuring.
On completion of the process and after they had taken my money I was told that apparently it would be 14 days before I would receive my cover note - I now have a car sat in my garage which I am unable to tax and therefore I am unable ...

I took out additional Green Flag cover to the comprehensive policy I already had with Zurich (They rang me and talked me into having it on the phone by offering 40% discount). I enver received any details of the additional Green Flag recovery in the post.
The car broke down on M23 - Green Flag took more than 1 hr 30 mins. to arrive. Conflicting advice was given by Zurich on the phone relating to what one is entitled to under the policy. As a result, the car ended up in a unsuitable garage which ...

Blameless victim of this accident which occurred 14/04/08, the car in front of me stopped abruptly I stopped, but the car behind me did not, and shunted me into the car in front . My claim is still unresolved. I want my car, a 14 year old well maintained, and reliable Astra, that I was happy with, and which I was not intending to replace in the foreseeable future, repaired, SO AS TO PUT ME BACK INTO THE POSITION THAT I WAS IN BEFORE THIS ACCIDENT, instead of being written off. This I feel is r ...
