    I enjoyed the Cosmos / Flash, Lady Mary trip, was glad I went, wouldn`t go again. If asked to recomend a holiday I wouldn`t say this but equally I`d be happy for you if you`d already booked it. However, there were several on board who had done Nile Cruises 6-7 times. Rooms bit and spacious, nicely air conditioned, boat was very clean, staff friendly. Tours good (thank you Silver Fox!) There is not enough time actually spend cruising- you spend 4days moored up which can be tedious when all the boats have their generators going. Take pound coins- traders more than happy for them, and don`t look anyone in the eye unless you want to buy anything. Had been warned about porters at airport and avoided them but a guy in uniform lifted my case to into the coach and wanted cash for it- my tip, do EVERYTHING yourself! Food was ok- it is not in the same class as a cruise ship. Go for the all inclusive- doesn`t make any financial sense not to. YOu`ll make it up on water alone

    The Lady Mary is a very clean ship, the crew cant do enough for you, this was the second time i have been on this ship , the food was excellent, the captain was easy to talk to. you will not regret booking this ship, an excellent holiday. the temperature was a bit on the low side, 54.2degs !!!! but we like it hot

    Lady Mary was absolutely marvelous !!! i cant knock it, the food was very good, the crew could not do enough for you, the captain was very friendly, easy to talk to, the test of a holiday is would you go again, well this was our 4th nile cruise, 2 on this ship, and we will go again on this ship. you cant get better than that. but go all inclusive, the temperature can be hot, it hit 54.2degs during our stay, i had to force down loads of larger beer !!!!

    Just got back from a week on the Lady Mary. What a great boat, really clean, great food,nice pool deck. The all inclusive option was good saved us a fortune as we drunk a lot of water as temperature was 55 degrees!
    Our tour rep was wonderful, really happy and kept us informed the whole trip. Its the only time we have had a rep that checked on us every morning at breakfast and told us what was happening.
    The egyptologist was also really good. He was fun to be with and great to go out on the tours ...

    This was our first cruise and we were pleasantly suprised at how relaxed the atmosphere was on board, smart casual dress was enough to wear for evening meals, the cabin was large and beds very comfortable, the large picture window was wonderful to sit and watch the banks of the nile drift by, the rooms were clean and had a fridge & safe at no extra cost.     Lady Mary - Nice boat, clean, generally friendly staff, great views of the Nile whilst cruising, fantastic tours to the temples.

    Monarch tell you to check in at the airport 3 hrs before take off. This is rubbish. Even the check-in staff say its daft.

    Make sure you reserve ahead of time a cabin as far forward as possible to avoid the noise of the engines and the disco/dance floor.
    If you are going to a Red Sea resort, check the time it takes. We went to El Gouna and it took 6 hours by coach, wi ...

    We were on board the Cosmos / Flash, Lady Mary during the Christmas week - our deliberate ploy to avoid Christmas. However, the boat makes a big deal of Christmas so unfortunately (for us) it was more "in your face" than it would have been had we stayed at home.

    Take some sweets with you (mixed chews and refresher lollies etc in bags from the £1 shop). Local Nubian children also like coloured pencils. You can also use these as bargaining tools when haggling in the market place. Don't bother to take hair straighteners, electric kettles or hair driers - they set the smoke alarms off and are confiscated until the end of your stay. You have a hairdryer in the bathroom which is adequate.

    We are 2 couples who went for a week on the Lady Mary, July 2008. This ship was a 6 star !!!!! The food was excellent, the crew could not do enough for you, we [2 couples] had been before, but not on this ship, so all we wanted to do was dos out on the deck for 7 days!! AND WE DID!! We recommend paying the £49 to upgrade to "all in" we went through that in 2 days !!!     Can we add that the rep, was the most wonderful rep we have ever had and will probably never have one like him again. He was most attentive, every night he came to every table in turn and told us all about what was happening the following day, what time we would have an early morningcall, what to take with us etc. He wanted to know if anyone was poorly, what room no they were in and then the following day he would make enquiries as to whether they were felling better etc. When anyone needed to ...

    Where to start: The Lady Mary was great, from the initial welcome on board, until our final debarkation en route to our stay in Hurghada, we couldn't have asked for more. The rest of the British group were a good crowd and we tended to congregate on the top deck to chat in the evenings. Food was good, it would have been nice to see more Middle Eastern cuisine but not exactly sure what Egyptian food is like anyway.     I couldn't have enjoyed myself more, the food, the people, the entertainment were all totally wonderful. The crew were polite and helpful, the rep was a good laugh and our guide was so knowledgeable, friendly and definitely one of the best. I would advise that Sterling seems to be the currency in highest demand and is accepted everywhere so no panic with changing currency. I'd recommend all inclusive, as the drinks can get a little dear and you can upgrade when you arrive for about £8 per ...

    7 out of our party of 8 had stomach problems that lasted a few days and in some cases persisted after the trip. It did not completely spoil the trip but didn't improve it.
    Monarch Air seating arrangements only good for circus midgets and Lilliputians. Uncomfortable flight.
    Flight attendants typically British and bossy.
    They charge extra for an exit row or bulkhead seats! Is that a European practice or just Monarch?

    My wife and I have just returned from a cruise on the Lady Mary, and we were most impressed. The staff could not be more helpful. The cabin we had was well appointed and cleaned daily to a very high standard.

    Excellent food, well prepared and presented with an earnest desire to cater for all tastes.

    Go with an open mind and look beyond the "Full British breakfast" mentality.

    I have wanted to see the "Treasures" of Egypt for some time, and the time we had with the Lady Mary added to that ...

    We'd love to go back, but not for a couple of years, and as we've seen the sights. Next time we will be spending more time on the boat getting better value for money from the all-inclusive.

    Our Cosmos rep on the Lady Mary Glories of the Nile cruise was brilliant. Very knowledgeable about Egypt and very helpful. Nothing was too much trouble.     We had a wonderful time on the Lady Mary Nile Cruise. The pool was cleaned every evening, and everywhere was very clean. I went with my daughter and son-in-law. On one of the trips my daughter fell trying to dodge the many people trying to sell you something, and her ankle really swelled up. Our tour guide helped her back onto the coach and then rang the boat to ask them to have some ice packs ready when we got back.     The Wonders of the Nile Lady Mary cruise was our first cruise, and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect holiday. Lady Mary was spotless throughout. The food was incredible, and the entertainment was fascinating. It was wonderful to see different sculptures made from towels on our bed every day. For 7 wonderful days we were treated like royalty, and although we visited many places, sitting on the sun deck after our evening meal was incredibly pleasing.     Excellent cruise, great value, just a bit frustrating at not enough time to wander at the sights. Wonderful to sit and watch riverbank life, both human and animals and birds!
    Only buy gold and silver etc at Government shops so you know you're getting genuine 18/24 carat etc - and Gov shops are only for jewelry not other things like in Tunisia.

    Karnak Sound and Light show was a disappointment and not at all value for money.
    Lady Mary was overcrowded with a lot of standing around listening to overhyped drivel. One woman fainted in the crush. When we got to the seats several people dropped off to sleep. I was there 25 years ago when they kept it simple and had better crowd control.
