Good Points: The Green valley of South Wales and the countryside of the Welsh Marches towards Monmouth the Usk towards Tintern Abbey. Hay on Wye with it's annual book festival. Pembrokeshire and it's coastline. The roman fort and ampitheatre at Caerleon. St Fagans Folk museum near Cardiff. The castles of Caerphilly, Raglan, Cardiff, Pembroke, Harlech and many more...
Bad Points: go in Summer as it's green because it rains a lot
General comments: The land of myth and legend. From Caerleon where the Second Augusta Roman Legion was based with its ampitheatre up through green valleys to Angelsey the home of the druids in North Wales where their massacre was conducted by the Roman armies.
Wales has a rich and varied past, being the home of the celtic people who originally inhabitated the whole of the UK .
The home of the Silurians and Ordovicians and more from the times of Boudica.
A language that dates back to pre-Roman times.
Wales is a beautifull green country with wild coastlines in Pembrokeshire, the mountain ranges of the Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia , home of Merlin the magician of King Arthur legend.
It is a land of song, as Paul Robeson discovered when making the film "Proud Valley".
And a home to the John Ford classic "How green was my Valley".
Immerse yourself in the history and the culture from the wild countryside and castles to the modern city of Cardiff, but don't just look without knowing the history.
