My Colt 1911 works better using Crosman CO2. A nice pistol to have. Fun and easy to use. If is was more powerful it would be the best Co2 pistol I have had. The trigger is easy in single shot mode not easy for double action shooting. Feels like the real thing. (read more)

I have owned a Government Colt 1911 for a few weeks and I have noticed when I shoot with the single action and hammer pulled back the pellets become stuck in the barrel because of a lack of Co2. If I use the double action the pistol is fine.

Just purchased the Colt 1911 and typical of Colt weapons the trigger/hammer action is very positive and reliable. The light trigger suits my target shooting. This Colt is more powerful, reliable and accurate than my Beretta 92. The only problem I have with this Colt is that it shoots higher than my Beretta does but I will be looking for an adjustable rear sight to solve that problem. I use a Feinwerkbau 100 and HW 75 for my usual target shooting and always use Bisley Practice pellets. I... (read more)

Bought the Colt 1911 CO 2 for a reasonable price - even for a metal GBB pistol. After half a year active use, the hammer got so worn, that the pistol is not working correctly any more. Its pretty difficult to get a spare hammer for it - and even if I got, it would wore off again in half a year - big negative for me :S. (read more)

Excellent gun, extremely precise accuracy. I can hit a penny at 25ft. The feel is like that of the real thing. easy to change c02, functions flawlessly.
I was a little apprehensive to purchase it, do to the price $ 220 Canadian. Was worth every penny now that i own it.

I tried several other guns from Walther and Beretta, both metal and plastic but much preferred the look and feel of the Colt. The rearsight adjusts for windage but that's it, so you have to rely more on your own skill. Once you get used to it the accuracy is excellent. The build quality seems extremely high.
The only downside is the instructions which, if you were not familiar with airguns could be confusing.

I purchased the nickel plated colt 1911 about a week ago. It is easily my favorite pellet gun. You get around 30-40 shots with each c02 canister. Its the most accurate pistol i own, and it is easily the most sturdy airgun ive ever held. This gun is one powerful sexy beast. (read more)

It depends on what your looking for here. If you aren't looking for the pistol to hit that hard then this may not be a minus for you. i have to admit that while the pistol works nice I was a little disappointed in the power. Aside from that, nice gun. (read more)

This weapon is a joy to use, very slick operation, accurate, and easy to get on with. I find the double action requires a lot of pressure on the trigger to operate, not easy to be rapid with it, but the single action is quite light and progressive. Watch out for the height setting on the sights, if you're not able to chop down the rear sight accurately (if it's shooting high) as I did then consider the 'Match Sights' available as an accessory, which are adjustable for both height and... For the adjustable sights try Sportsmarketing on the net. They sell the rear sight and fore sight for the Colt 1911. Another supplier told me the rear sights were discontinued and I hope they are not.

CO2 runs out at about 60 shots with power starting to tail off prior to this, but it's quick and easy to fit a new one and makes you take a break from punching targets!!!!!
It's so easy to use, even my 9 year old son is doing well with it.

Borrowed this pistol off a friend along with a beretta 92fs, compared them both.
The 1911 feels fantastic in your hand and the weight is just perfect for a steady shot. the most accurate pistol iv ever shot.
Easy to load and pierce CO2 capsule.
Not as powerful as the Beretta though, but was perfect for target shooting at 20-25 ft.
Overall excellent pistol, but I'm not rely an expert.
Need help..SEALS.. not quite sure what they are (I'm a beginner), but I've seen a lot of posts about the...

The seal most prone to failure is probably the one the co2 capsule sits against, a reddish colour one you can see where the top of the cannister fits. To give this long life you can smear the top of the capsule with a synthetic gun oil, though I prefer to use silicone grease. A friends 1911 is a couple or years old and has shot tens of thousands of pellets, he's had no problems. Mine has seen just a couple of thousand pellets, but no signs of any problems. J

The orange seal (soft plastic washer) mentioned is the modern one, the clear seal was the old version very prone to failure.

Put a drop of silicone oil (Crosman Pellgun oil, or even car auto gearbox fluid. Do not use normal petroleum based oil), on the tip of the gas cartridge as you load it in. Crosman gas cartridges also contain a tiny ammount of oil enough to lubricate the seals inside the vale block. . Cheaper cartridges are "dry"

I purchased this gun in replacement of my real 1991A1 which I sold a few years ago. The Colt 1911 .177 is a beautiful piece and I feel great shooting it. The recoil may not be at all close like the real thing but the rest is in its feel is. I purchased the nickel plated with black grips and punching paper with wadcutters in tight bullseye patterns at 30 feet is a breeze. (read more)

I brought a Colt 1911 CO 2 pistol in a gun shop of NZ. It did cost me $420 NZ, this is the cheapest co2 pellet pistol made by Umarex. Even a CP99 pellet gun cost me $425.
Accuracy, with almost six inch barrel you know how good accuracy it would be, compare with the other co2 pistols.
Valve, there are two kinds of valves for umarex co2 pistols. First one is a powerful German valve which they put them on Bretta 92 FS and Reck police, that is a reason why the people only found around 40 shot...

A few weeks ago I've tried the 1911 of a friend, and I enjoyed it very much so I 've bought my own Colt GOV 1911 in nickel finish.

I bought the Colt 1911 CO 2 gas pistol because of its realism. I found it to be a remarkable pellet pistol for accuracy and just plain fun shooting. I can't believe the smooth trigger pull, a known quality of real Colt pistols.
Great pistol.

I disagree completely.
I had bought a Colt M1911 several years ago and the thing couldn't hit a sticky note paper in 2 meters!! It also broke up in 2 days time. And an other thing, there are much better manufacturers than Colt and American firms in general and it's not very smart to pick an airgun just by the looks of it. Perhaps a little research before you buy could be considered.

Not sure if snipergr was unlucky and got a rogue colt or if he's just someone who started tinkering and screwed up his own gun (you'd be surprised how many guns get returned with the buyer saying "i was just shooting when.......".). i know they had trouble with the triggers on these guns when they came out but that was sorted years ago (i know this because i bought one when they first came out and had to have it replaced.), but to comment on a modern co2 gun from a respected manufacturer by saying that it couldn't hit a post-it note at 2 metres and that it "broke up in 2 days" is absurd. myself and a couple of friends have had no trouble in over five years now of fairly regular use, just service them from time to time and feed them decent gas and pellets and these guns are good as gold. How anyone can say that these "american" guns are inferior is beyond me when even a quick glance at the side of the gun tells you that they are made in germany. (is snipergr sure even sure he owned one of these?.)
To anyone Thinking of buying one of these all i can say is Go on treat yourself, you know you want to!

I bought one as a gift for a pal to commemorate his time in Africa. The pistol was the model of reliability and we had no problems till he mislaid it. Time for another!

snipergr. He bought it cause he likes the look of it. I nearly bought a blank-firing replica because i liked the look of it. 98bazooka is right, it doesn't sound like you actually own one. I don't own one, but I might get one.

I have several CO2 pistols, and i have to say the colt is probably the best, not only for the looks, but also about accuracy. Neverthless it seems to me, this pistol is loosing the power, anyway still a great pistol.

Hi, I've tried the 1911 of a friend, it's a strong accurate gun, with a speed of 120m/s Ithink I'll buy one for me.
Sorry but I don't beleve snipergr unless he has bought a plastic BB gun for childrens under 4 years old...
