I have had this bike for 5 months and loved every minute of it! I have de-restricted the exhuast and removed the washer from the variator. I was wondering if there's anything I can do to improve the performance of it? But for a reasonable price, even if it's just a couple mph

I bought my piaggio nrg power 50, liquid cooled for £1750 brand new. it goes 31mph as it is restricted. the good thing about the nrg is the handling and speed. if you wanted to, you can put a malossi 70cc kit into it for £150 fitted which will make it go around 50-70mph if you have a good exhaust and other parts fitted too. reccomendations - buying a brand new one, buying it from a shop called Ron Daleys in barnsley. buying the malossi kit downfalls - it is a 2 stroke wich means it needs petrol and oil to start up. if you have fully tank of petrol and no oil, it wont run. if you take it to 31mph for a long jerney the petrol will run out quickly and will need refilling. overall - fast, cheap from ron daleys, can modify for maximum speed. malossi kit available wich is very good!

(Air cooled NRG - 05 Plate)I get around 42 - 44 Mph with a MK racing exhaust and a full engine derestriction. I want to change my rollers but dno wat gram to buy, at the moment there standard which gives me good acceleration and top end but if i wish to change it to Full top end what gram would i need ? Many Thanks :)

hi mate if you want full top end try 9g rollers but your accelleration will be poor so id personally go for between 7-8g as the standar rollers are generally between 6-6.5 as the ones in my NRG power wer 6.3g, although these work great on my NRG as i have a Pm tuning aluminium x-tech 70cc big bore kit, doppler boost bottle, viper50-70cc exhaust and a 82 jet ;) i get 95 on my NRG as i have been clocked by a car ...hope this helps

Hey everyone. I just got Piaggio nrg mc3 2002 and I couldnt help notecing that it has a part that other Piaggios dont have,it is secondary air filter. Does anyone know why is it there for or what would happen if I take it out?
Written on: 12/11/2012
most piaggios have it, it basically runs air from the exhaust into the variator casing which helps to keep it cool but it does restrict preformance if the standard exhaust if fitted, although it is needed with the standard exhaust, it a sports exhaust is fitted the you can take it off as it is doing nothing at all and just "dead weight"
Piaggio NRG power dd "59 plate" ,i have a Pm tuning aluminium x-tech 70cc big bore kit, doppler boost bottle, viper50-70cc exhaust and a 82 jet ;) i get 95 on my NRG as i have been clocked by a car ...hope this helps

Bought a 03 piaggio mc3dt 50cc nrg since I've bought it had forks replaced and passed mot but riding back I noticed it started bogging down!
It has a malossi exhaust and looks like previous owner has modified it so wondering what if they've messed up the fuel/air mixture and guzzles far too much fuel aswell as carb looking bit rough so any thoughts on what could be causing the drop in power at high revs??

I got my piaggio nrg 2010 in october last year. It was running rather fine for around a month, only doing 30 as it wasnt de restricted. Then i derestrited it, when all my problems started happening. First thing i suspected was, when i went up a hill i was doing 14mph which i thought wasnt right for my bike to do that. Then the next fault was it was just getting slower now barley making it up hills and going 23mph on a flat. WOuld any one be able to work out my problem? or help me cheers.

Clean you carb out mate, sometimes the jets dont look blocked but they are, also buy a inline fuel filter and fit that to the petrol tube that goes into the carb, therefore no shi* can go into the jets. you can buy that from EBC for 2 pounds or any motorbike place. that sorted mine out and has slightly increased performance :). Goodluck

Written on: 10/04/2012
If your battery has gone down to low (below the charge level) it wont charge or hold power, buy a new battery im 99% sure that will sort your problem out m8, if it doesnt then consult a motorbike mechanic :), Good Luck

i have had my piaggio nrg power 06 for 2 years now, no problem, been derestricted and had a pm 360 tuning pipe put on it! after about 4000 miles my engine seized! had a 70cc polini bore kit put on it, run it in gently up to 150 miles, twice it has cut out on me randomly and i dont know why -__- i leave it for 5 mins then try startin it again and everythin seems normal and of i go! really want a solution, please help ?
Written on: 12/11/2012
you might just need a bigger jet mate, mine did that and i put a slighly bigger jet in and it worked fine :), on the polini kits your ment to run them in for 300 miles as my pmtuning was 200 miles but its better to be safe than sorry so i did mine fore 300 as recomended by several qualified mechanics :)
Piaggio NRG power "59 plate", i have a Pm tuning aluminium x-tech 70cc big bore kit, doppler boost bottle, viper50-70cc exhaust and a 82 jet ;) i get 95 on my NRG as i have been clocked by a car ...hope this helps

i have a nrg on an 07 plate i derestricted it and put an air filter on it and and it run fine for abit but now it wont even start it takes like 20 kicks before it thinks of even tryin i think my jet it too big the bloke at the shop gave me a 110 main jet to go wiv the filter dus any 1 know wat size jet i shud actually have in
Written on: 11/07/2011
try a 90 or a 92 main jet with the eclip in the carb on the second to top position also try lighter rollers some where around 5gram
Written on: 10/04/2012
Depending on the size of the air filter mate if its like mine (37mm Polini Covered) , then it should be around 103mm. Mine runs fine with a MK Racing exhaust and an engine derestriction, otherwise all standard - top end 49 MPH :) not bad for an 05 plate.

ive got a 2003 nrg mc3 ac its fast and a good bike. Alot of my friends have nrgs and all of theirs have needed new crank bearings. This is a constant problem so be aware. Also if you are getting an nrg get a liquid cooled one they are 9bhp compared to the 6bhp ac version. Got a gianelli exhaust one mine and it goes about 60 on a straight but as everyone knows the clocks on nrg's are always wrong so i could only be going 50-55. Also the liquid cooled version has a back disc brake which makes it alot better as the back brake on my ac version has worn out rapidly!
On my ped when i rev it it will go to around 8-9000rpm and then goes down slowly to about 7000rpm as it goes faster. why is this? Also when i rev it it will not move for about 2 or 3 seconds. i got a boost bottle which i was told would make it more responsive but it did'nt. what do i do about this? thanks

Had my Piaggio NRG Power 50 on an 04 plate just 4 days now... bloke who had it before me spent over 240 on the performance ( not sure what he had done ) but it flew at 65 - 70mph (recorded on a car speedo), but now the bike doesnt run properly cutting out all the time and only hitting 30mph when it wants to actually start and move. not sure what the problem is, (engines fine) suppose it was a good bike while it lasted.

My bike has sort of the same problem, it has stage6 exhaust, 9 roller and stage 6 air filter. it used to do 73, but gradually it has gotton worse and worse and now it does 35 on flat and takes a year to get there, do you have any idea what it is yet?
Written on: 07/09/2011
worn rings and possible crank bearing wear. Thet werent made for sppeds anywhere near what your claiming. Reliability will cease at 50mph over long periods, shorter the faster you go.

piaggio nrg dd 07. Drinks alot of petrol. Easily broken into you can take the key out slowly and it still runs. Good boot size fits speekers into and easy accses to battery. like the ride comfert and the digital gage looks nice too. But hard to find preformence parts cheap. friends bikes are 60+ leaves my bike on its own. recermend speed fighters and airoxs.

i like the Piaggio NRG Power 50 but the top speed is shoking compaired to other bikes around the same price range. the bike looks grate and has a good boot space fits by 8 inch speekers and cd player in perfict. the bike is derstricted but goes 54 down hill with wind behind me. Takes the bike a while to want to go anywere when you first start it up. Drink petrol like anything have to fill it up everyday. I would recemend buying one to be honest best bike 09 rossi and the speed fighters for top end but for confort piaggio nrg dd 07 is a good bike.

The ped is lovely. I have a Piaggio NRG55 plate and it flies, my ped does about 48 on a straight and 54 down hill this bike has had a teqnigas pipe on it and has been deresticted i think i am gonna get some lighter rollers on it tho and a 70cc big bore kit which will cost me around £140.00 and increase the speed to about 75-80 mph but the nrg is a sweat ped and 1 of the fastest peds around.

with a race exhuast they should be between 5g to 7g but 5.5g is the best for acceleration and top end
