Good Points: Excellent build and reliability Nice power level for a small bike Easy to maintain - fun to ride Good (low) center of gravity - easy for beginning riders to maneuver.
Bad Points: The shocks could be better quality - bumpy ride. It could have disk front brakes, but on an 80cc bike, you really don't need to stop that quick anyway. Can't think of anything else except that I am too big now to ride it as much!
General comments: This was my first bike - bought my Honda XL80S-80 brand new from Honda back in mid 1980. My brother and I had matching 1980 XL80s's, and we rode them hard for 6 or 7 years. 2800 miles - all off road and the bikes were NEVER in the shop for anything. They started every time they were kicked over, they ran all day, and never gave us any hassle. They were great bikes - and still are (we both still have the bikes). Mine is under a mini-restoration so I can get it ready for my son, who will be ready to ride in a year or so. He will love the bike as much as I did.

I have had up to three people on it at once, and I've pulled a bicycle with a passenger on it and a go-cart with it, which is pretty good for a dirtbike. I've rode it in the snow, in mud, in rain, through rivers and basically everything. The only bad thing about it is that it's old. It has carburetor problems, floods easy and the gas leaks if its not turned off. The spark plug also fouls easy if you d ...
