Good Points: Light to carry and the screen size and keyboard are ideal for emails and research. It's really simple to use (especially for the older generation like myself) and I found the USB ports and more than plenty. Mine works perfect with broadband and the dvd/cd/r is ideal for watching movies, and burning cd's for research etc.
Bad Points: Battery time is something that needs to be remembered and carrying a charger is important.
General comments: Overall you cannot go wrong with Toshiba. A name to remember for reliability and quality. Okay there are many other laptops out there which may be cheaper - but quality and reliability are what counts. Always remember. That is why I gave 10 for overall rating.

My Toshiba Satellite 1100 has served me very well over the past two years. It is a reliable and sturdy item which is simple to use. I personally keep it in my room and never travel with it, mainly because it is very heavy.
The sound is not so great so listening to music/watching movies is not very fun.
The keyboard and touchpad are all very simple to use.
In conclusion, a decent laptop albeit a little bit boring.
