Bad Points: My Vectra seems to have blown a gasket at first I thought it was a hole in the exhaust had the car on the ramps a lad at the garage said the noise was coming from the manifold somewhere then he started getting technical the part costs around £20 to £25 might be less or might be more ... but the labour costs would be higher than the part its self. This seems to be a common fault with the sri v6 if anyone knows what the lad was chatting about could you please advise look forward to hearing from you all.
General comments: My Vauxhall Vectra goes like a rocket have always loved this type of car would not have any other it looks good drives and handles very well on the road oh! And they are a great babe magnet. Forget the Scooby ' s and Evos for style and comfort do yourself a favour take one for a test drive once driven forever smitten.
If anyone can give some advise to the gaskett thing if thats the case would luv to hear from you.
Thankyou all so much for time in reading my review.

I got a Vauxhall Vectra v6 and I love it, its quick, beat a 2l turbo no worries, mines totally standard! shames my mates 2.5 BMW, its cheap if you want it to be, keep it below 90 then your getting 35-40 mpg! Foot down your looking at 10 though! Paid two grand, NOW would have payed double...
Great car..... if it was rear wheel would be the best car on the road!
Put GSi wheels on it and it'll go round corners alright anyways!

I own a Vauxhall Vectra I love it I've done work on it to eliminate the flat spot and changed the fly wheel for a lighter one as the standard one was made for the American emissions standard.

I have had my 2.5 sri just over a year now and it has got some really good points. Its very quick will do 140mph no problem. its not that thirsty for a 2.5 either. its really spacious. sounds good now as i have installed a K&N induction kit and full stainless steel exhaust now it sounds mean!
mine has been very relieable not breaking down once since I have had it and my dad owned it before me and never had a hickup.either. very easy to mod if your into that kind of thing but looks great eve ...

All in all I'm glad I bought my Vauxhall Vectra. Got the poke, got the room, got the sound and because mine is fire red with alloy wheels it has certainly got the looks. Insurance not too steep either, now I'm old enough, with enough no claims. Just over £200 fully comp with me and the wife on the policy. If your a more mature driver looking for performance and a family motor then grab one of these beauties. You should be able to pick up a good one for around 2 to 3 grand.

Don't see how everyone grumbles about the fuel consumption, I use it on my pizza deliveries (no joke) no complaints at 29.5 mpg in town and 38 on a run. Maybe it's cos I drive it very conservatively. I rarely have it above 2000rpm in every gear except on a run. Good car all round although maintenance is a bit expensive, especially clutch! I had a 1.8 and it was also good except engine management was a constant show.

I bought my Vauxhall Vectra SRI 2.5 V6 off a lad that has had many before and rated them highly, it has 150 bhp as standard, mine has got 180 now. It has a great smile factor when planting the accelerator and the front end lifts into the air. I have had a few problems since buying it, within a week it was only firing on five cylinders so new plugs and leads were bought as they had never been replaced since new (car was now on 100,00 miles) it was an expensive buy, the leads had to be high temp a ...

The Vectra isn't a bad motor at all, not as much as it's slated to be at times.
I had no problems with mine except the timing belt slipped (one week after I'd had it replaced), so I wouldn't let this worry you, but do get them changed every 40k/80k miles (depends on model) but I've been told should really do it at 40k intervals.
The performance is great around town as you don't need to constantly keep shifting due to the V6 torque, however you don't get huge power surges till you hit 4000 ...

I own my Vectra for 3 years now and it's a 2.2i 16v SRI 150BHP. All I have done to it is upgraded the exhaust and I can race almost anything. I have had up to 155MPH, and had a little bit more in it to go. I have beaten a Honda Civic Type R, and a Suberu Impreza, and I tried against a Toyota Supra but he didn't race me!!!.
I suggest that anyone gets one, they are fantastic

Vauxhall Vectra SRI 2.5 V6 - I bought the 'VEC' pretty blind, it was the only car I liked the look of, I have to say I am very impressed by the car. The power is fantastic, but it also leaves you with a comfortable feeling when accelerating hard. I haven't been embarrassed by anything that has taken it on yet. If you are a fuel economy stickler, then this car should be avoided, not sure of the exact MPG but it does consume, especially when asked to perform. Overall I think I made an excellent ch ...

Had the Vauxhall Vectra SRI 2.5 V6 car for couple of weeks and it has been excellent. Handles very well from standard lowered springs and wider tyres. Engine/exhaust not turns heads even in standard form but would like to know if there is any way of eliminating or masking the flat spot at around 2000 rpm.

I have had a Vauxhall Vectra SRI 2.5 V6 for 2 months, I understood the IAC valve problem before i bought it but there was no record of the problem on a V6 engine, unforunately there is now, mine, it is easily resolved by the way!..... Full instructions to clean the valve and have trouble free "idling" are at: http://www.vectra-sport.com/How_To/Idle%20Air%20control%20Valve.htm any wannabe mechanic can do this, anyway to my review...
Apart from this problem the car is great, comfortable and soli ...
