We purchased a new mattress from our local Dreams store. It cost £560. The manager checked it was in stock and said they could deliver it on Wednesday (purchase was made on Monday). I received a text message later that day confirming the Wednesday delivery and that they would call me before 10.30am to give me a 2 hour time slot. Wednesday came and we disposed of our old mattress. 10.30 came and went, no phone call. We contacted customer services and claimed they had TRIED to contact us to tell us the mattress was out of stock. We hadn't received a phone call on either home or mobile phone (both of which have answerphones) or an email. The advisor told me that they did not know when they would be back in stock. I told them it was now a major problem as we had disposed of our old mattress and had nothing to sleep on. To that i was told it was not their problem and they hung up. By now i was so irate i decided to cancel my order. I rung back and was duly told that i wasn't allowed a refund only a credit note. By now things were becoming a little heated. After 45 mins they said they would refund us our money minus £86 for a penalty notice as we had apparently broken the contract. We then contacted TS who told us we are entitled to a full refund. We are now in a dispute with Dreams and if necessary we will take legal action.

I bought a bed and mattress from dreams in rochdale. Staff there were friendly and helpful. Headboard would not go up my stairs this is where the problem began.Staff in store cannot deal with this you have to go through customer services. Then you finally get through to customer services complete contrast to in store staff unfriendly unhelpful bearing in mind they already have your money. So for me now they are taking 20%of what i have already paid and putting it on to the cost of my new one for ...- Read Guest's review (128 words)

Hi.. just like to say thar the Dreams PLC bank holiday advert is misleading and come to think of it so are dreams.... i went to buy the bed advertised on the telly for £195.00 to be told that i had to pay £35.00 delivery or make a 130 mile round trip to get it.. the advert does not state any of this. the salesperson was very blunt.. did not care, think that was because they were not going to get a lot of commision.. but they do get more for selling a delivery. i then phoned up the he ...- Read Guest's review (122 words)

I only have one positive thing to say , their delivery and warehouse staff are extremely friendly, kind and helpful, (they werent particularly complementary about the sales and customer sales staff either though?!)
Their 'customer service staff' were rude, patronising and seemed to take great pleasure in informing me how much it would cost me if I cancelled my order..... £640!
Both myself and my mother placed orders with Dreams within 3 weeks of each other. We have had nothing but problem ...- Read Guest's review (154 words)

My experience with Dreams Northampton can only be described as excellent. The salesman is fully trained and knows his business. He was not pushy and gave us every confidence towards the purchase of an adjustable bed. Not an easy task given the options available, but he steered us in the right direction, and more to the point - delivered the goods, and on time! The delivery guys gave us a call two hours before delivery and hey presto the bed was hoisted to the bedroom mwithout any fuss. Fitted o ...- Read Britannicus's review (115 words)

"In stock" doesn't mean in stock to this Dreams PLC. Any attempt by you to get your money back when the goods don't turn up to be delivered and you are told that "it's being built to order". So was it not in stock then? No such thing as a refund.
Don't take the day off work to wait in for the delivery either as they won't arrive and they won't contact you to tell you why they aren't sticking to that date they gave you for it.
When you call to ask where the delivery men are, they'll offer to ...- Read mel75's review (150 words)

On January 1 2009 my wife and I went to Dreams in Basildon with our two children. The salesmen, though clearly in the business of selling us a bed, was helpful, courteous, knowledgeable and good with the kids. We ordered a bed and were told to expect a 2-4 week wait for a delivery date. Delivery was confirmed after two weeks and the actual bed was delivered on January 23. The date was confirmed again the day before delivery and the actual time by text on the delivery day.The bed was exactly as o ...- Read theflood's review (182 words)

We ordered an 'in stock' bed on 27th Nov 2007 and delivery was arranged for 8th Dec 2007. WE were called two days before to say the mattress was out of stock and we would be contacted asap for a new delivery date. We heard nothing so after failing tpo get through to Dreams call centre I emailed their delivery team to ask what was going on. I got another call saying the mattress was out of stock and was offered a different mattress. I turned this down as we had not tried this alternative mattr ...- Read leahm's review (221 words)

I took my 80 year old mother to the local Dreams store for a new mattress. Was told delivery would take place 2 days later. We were given FREE delivery and FREE disposal of the old mattress... Unbelievable!!
It was, as 2 days later - no mattress. We called the shop to be told that there had been a mix up, and the sales person had put the day of sale as the date of delivery. We were then told sorry, but the mattress would be delivered in another 2 days. I asked why we hadn't been told earl ...- Read britalian's review (264 words)

After visiting one of their stores, I purchased a Bed and Mattress for £750, and I arranged for delivery two weeks later. The day before delivery, their delivery depot called to say that they had run out of stock, as they had given our goods ordered to customers who had ordered AFTER us! I immediately requested a refund from Dreams PLC and cancellation of the goods, giving two weeks notice as required.
They then called back and said that if I gave them an extra day past the two weeks no ...- Read hellokitty2's review (228 words)

I ordered a bed from Dreams on Tottenham Court Road at the end of October 2005. Was told it was definitely in stock and no problem getting it delivered Saturday 12th November. But, the day before delivery their warehouse rang me to say they had none in stock. Although the store I bought from tried and were apologetic, polite and courteous, they were of no real help. Offering me a lower quality bed, which was completely different from what I ordered. And also telling me that I would have to speak ...- Read Mark Sell's review (116 words)

On the 7th of August I purchased a bed from Dreams PLC in Sheldon, which I was told was in stock and would arrive on the 15th of August. On the 15th of August they called to advise me that the bed was out of stock. This resulted in me taking a days holiday to receive the delivery, which was wasted.
Over the following weeks I made repeated attempts to confirm a mutually convenient time to take delivery, but this still did not result in the delivery of the bed. Even when delivery time and dates w ...- Read Tony Mulhall's review (201 words)

I bought a bed from Dreams PLC in November 2004. On September 10th 2005 the bed frame broke. I went to the Epsom store where I bought the bed, and they were extremely unhelpful. I contacted the head office who promised to call me back several times but never did. I am still waiting for the bed to be fixed. if I have to, I will take legal proceedings against the store.- Read niru's review (80 words)

I ordered a bed on the 11 June from Dreams PLC. I wish I had read the other reviews of Dreams plc before I ordered my bed.
I could write a book on the problems I've had, but suffice it to say, I was told I would take delivery of my bed within 2-4 weeks of placing my order. Here I am 7 weeks later, and I still have no bed. I have given up phoning to chase. Every time I phone, they promise to phone back, but never do. The Customer Service number just rings and rings with no answer.
To cap it all, the letter I sent by Recorded Delivery ...- Read Blokenextdoor's review (188 words and 1 comment)
