Principally it is not difficult to do but if you want to create a very personal book you need quite a bit of time and patience. Before I started I created a separate folder with all the photos I wanted to download. This gives you quicker access. I have used this product for an on going art degree for 3 years now and hav always been impressed with this company. Only on one occasion has an order gone wrong but it was quickly corrected free of charge and to a superior standard. The Pixum website worked in an excellent manner for initially placing the Order and uploading the data for the 75 prints desired. Very Good. The prints arrived very quickly, securely packed in the mail. Very Good. Opening the prints was then a disappointment. The website made ordering lots of prints in different sizes really easy and a 12 x 8 print for 99p was great value. Overall the prices were fantastic for the prints I ordered, on the other hand the £2.99 charged for postage & packaging was a little pricey, other photo printing websites has cheaper P & P. The Pixum site is easy to navigate, and the results are professional looking. There is one problem I encountered, however. It happened when I had nearly finished my album, but then I wanted to go back to change one of the photos. The mistake I made was to delete the one I wanted to change, thinking that I could substitute it for another, but, oh no!, what happened was that all the other photos closed up, so that everything then was out of sequence. I was introduced to Pixum by a family member who shared our interest in saving photographs for posterity. The software is totally user friendly and provides for a variety of picture and background formats. The final product is excellent and arrives very promptly. I was happy with the fast delievery, I ordered a set of 6x4 prints and a photobook, very happy with the photobook but some of the 6x4 prints were smaller than 6x4 which was disappointing as some were to be framed and are now too small for the frames. Our Church did a Pixum photobook of work done to the Church - very impressive. Our children had converted our old 35mm projector slides into digital format and did a presentation at our Golden Wedding anniversary celebrations in 2011 - what a surprise! But they were wrong about quite a few of the pictures - after all some were taken before they were born or too young to remember. I found Pixum online when looking for a site to turn JPEGs in folders into something more interesting. The site is reasonably easy to master with a bit of experience. I got the covers back to front on my first attemptand it is worth speding time with layouts and designs to get value for money. I live in a rural area with leisurely broadband speeds but upload was sensible unlike some competitors. The finished product is well made and arrived before I expected. (read more)

Indeed, since the introduction of prints from DIGITAL imaging, these ARE the poorest prints! Asda produce better prints than this company, and they are not specialist printers. “Need for more flexibility”

My overall experience of Pixum is favourable, however there is a need for extra flexibility. For instance, when I want to add just an extra page or two I am compelled to include several which I don't need. This compromises the way I have set out the book and is a nuisance. Also I would like to be able to easily add pages anywhere in the book which I don't think is possible. A sleeve to store a CD or two with my original pictures would also be welcomed. (read more)

This is my first experience of using Pixum as a photo book. My preferred provider has been photobox. They compare favourably but are also different. I liked the wrap around cover using a picture. I sent in an order for a photo book on 8 November 2012. I received the book, was pleased with the quality and printing, but 4 pages were in the wrong order. I telephoned customers services (in Germany) and spoke to a very helpful girl, who said I would receive a new book free of charge. I still have not received it. It is the 4th books I ordered but all the time the images look a bit darker than on the computer screen, I think it is a shame because my pictures are good quality and your prints too but you should do something if you know that your print would be darker that your screen because I calibrate my screen every 2 months. I have tried several photobook producers but the Pixum books win hands down on clarity and faithful colour reproduction. I love the double cover spread for landscape work. This is extremely good value. Differing companies have differing software options and I have found this one of the easiest. I love the pixie software, as it gives me the most flexibility to do just what I want. The recent updates have also made it ore stable. I have ordered several books from pixum, and am overall happy, but I have to say I expected the print quality to be a little better. This program has been a big disappointment especially in light of all good reviews I had found on the web. To cut a long story short, each time I try to upload a photo from Iphoto there appears (in absolutely no time) an icon saying that the photo has been uploaded. Trouble is nothing gets uploaded. A few times a single shot gets uploaded but then again the following ones will not get uploaded or the same photo again will be uploaded, despite me choosing others. What is more annoying... Our "automatic colour optimisation (DPO)" may cause colour problems if the photos are already calibrated. We recommend to deactivate this feature in such cases.
However we really would like you to be satisfied. Can you therefore provide me your order number and we will check if a (free) reprint makes sense.

Unfortunately we had some technical issues in our reordering process for Pixum Photo Books. As you already pointed out, this has been the underlying reason for the troubles. Meanwhile we were able to solve these problems.
