“The outer screen on my O2 X3 mobile phone stopped...”

written by pinkisbest on 30/05/2006

The outer screen on my O2 X3 mobile phone stopped working after a month! I never got a memory card reader, and I never got MP3's onto it. I would never buy an O2 X phone ever again! I got it replaced last week, and now I have a Samsung E720!

The O2 X3 is a very unreliable phone, it switched off on its own many times a day. So was replaced within 4 weeks. Then within few months same problem occured, was fixed, good for a few weeks then fixed again. Believe it or not it's happening again. 3 of my family also got these phones the same time as me and guess what it's happening to them as well. O2 still say there is no known fault with them. but there are also some reviews about this handset on their own site that gives same problems. I will never have one of O2 phones again..

written by anonuser on 21/09/2005

The 02 X3, much like any of the other "X" range we sell, is terrible. We have told the powers that be over and over that this handset is awful and should not be sold, but it still makes a huge profit for 02 when sold compared to the price they buy them for from the manufacturer who in this case are called BenQ. The phone never works properly, freezes up and always has a wheel graphic going round on the screen when you ask it to do something. They turn themselves on and off at will, won't charge and battery life sucks. As many people have said, if you want a clamshell phone with similar features, spend the extra £50 - £100 and buy a brand make like a Samsung, and avoid the X3 like the plague, it will save you and the O2 staff in shops and call centres a lot of grief!! You have been warned.

I examined the O2 X3 mobile phone at the shop, but it was too ugly. Luckily my friend had one. It was rubbish before he knew it had a screen fault, so he bought a new phone.
O2 is my mobile network, and although it is very very very very good, my value for money rating is based on the phone, if everything worked! I'd only recommend this mobile phone to a rich friend, and one who doesn't mind paying for a new phone every fortnight!

written by Danny Dickinson on 14/08/2005

So, £100, I though it was a bargain, no I had problems, it got sent 4 repair, came back the same, and went away again. Got sent a new handset, went away again before I had a chance to leave the shop, got it back, and still does not work!!! I have finally been given a loan phone, which is a nokia 3410, and to be honest, the 3410 is by far a more impressive handset. This phone has one fault after another, or if you are like me, loads of faults all at once!. Avoid this phone at any cost, all that happens when you take it back, is you're fobbed off with excuses, and are given another handset exactly the same and equally as dodgey. You are a fool if you go and buy one after reading this review. 02 really need to start paying attention to these reviews.

“I brought an O2 X3 phone after speaking to an O2 sales...”

★☆☆☆☆

written by tylerc on 01/02/2005

I brought an O2 X3 phone after speaking to an O2 sales man who described this mobile as the best thing since slice bread.... well after 2 days the bread went stale. The phone kept turning itself off and kept crashing. When it did work the quality was rubbish - pic mode just did not work without it being daylight - although you can change the settings the quality is just not there. However, I went to LA and used it as a video recorder and in the sun light it was great. I complained to O2 and they said they were not aware of any problems and asked me to send it back - they in turn sent me a new one which I have had for 2 months and today just sold as I am so fed up with it. To be fair to O2 the battery now stays on, although I have met several other people with the same phone and they also have battery problems. The problem I have with this phone is the camera mode - Once you take a pic it takes about 2-3 seconds to download, so if you move the phone the pic goes blurred - you look like a plank off wood holding the phone for several seconds while trying to keep yourself and the object you are taking a picture off still. As mentioned earlier, the camera just does not work in the slightest dark conditions, not very good when you take it down a pub etc. My 2nd X3 then stopped sending mms msg, it would not send any pic and o2 had no idea why - they offered to replace it again to which I told them no. Funny enough the guy I spoke to at o2 even admitted to me that they should not be selling this phone as it just don't work!. I now have a Samsung D500 - which is just great, the best thing since slice bread!!!
