Midnight Club 3 is a pretty decent game. I have only played it for an hour or so, so I can't say much about it. But from what I see, it is a very good game, and I don't like many racing games, so that is saying something.

Midnight Club 3 is actually in my opinion a good game. I am even a racing fan, and am still not at all dissapointed with the lack of actual racing in the game. I find the customization aspect if MC3 to be one of the most interesting parts. S

In that case, you have my apology samus... (even though you`re a self confessed Xbox hater with friends who can`t type). Your story & intention sound as credible as your reviews.

This particular review, smart one, was for my friend. He loves this game, and he saw it had a bad review. I gave it a 9 out of sympathy. And just because I don't own an Xbox doesn't mean I can't play the games! I do have friends that have one.

This Racer's from the producers of grand theft auto so I was surprised at the content & generally what the game lacks. I was also suprised that, so far, this recieves so many great review verdicts. The first thing I noticed was just how bad it is graphically (infact, looks like some first generation psx game). As more a fan of racing sims, I've tried not to bias towards the urban street racing genre but it just feels very throw-away. Midnight club 3`s very similar to the xbox midtown madness series except with more speed & added features. Basically, the idea is to race around 3 different cities earning points & collecting trophies. This unlocks content - different vehicles (around 60) and provides you with prize money with which to upgrade vehicles in a local garage. These things are primarily done in career mode. There's an arcade mode where you can perfect racing your unlocked vehicle creations & compete.
This review probably isn't fair because I can't empathize with those it's aimed towards. I couldn't get into the game at all. I found the engine jerky, surreal and blurry. It's purely arcade which is why there`s lack of damage collision gameplay or realistic physics. All the playability felt samey and it quickly gave way to boredom. I also found little variation between cars (in terms of driving performance & skill). Some vehicles benefit you in terms of speed, others have bulk so you're able to shift through heavy traffic & game scenery.
Typically, it features a customable sound track: which is just as well because I hated most of the dance music provided. There's no story mode, just an irritating narrative character (a hairy tatooed mexican mechanic). He periodically clues you up through the different stages & makes amusing in-the-hood comments throughout.
For an arcade racer, Midnight club 3 has more depth to it than I probably credit - with a variation of driving controls, lots of cars & the ability to customize them. The 3 cities are huge and this game also has a race editor and two player split screen.
All in all though, I just found it boring, unimpressive/unoriginal. I've found the Project Gotham arcade series more involving (as far as driving's concerned). This games more about phase culture, fashion and image than substance or console driving fun.

If you`ve actually played Midnightclub 3 & disagree, please clue me up here. I may have missed something. Id be interested in other opinions. I`m pretty sure this review reflects the exchange / refund rate of this particular title & also the amount of secondhand copies appearing. Could be wrong.

<br>*I wish you could edit reviews because I forgot to add, this game`s probably more appealing to teenage gamers.

C’mon, the things almost exactly like Midtown Madness 3. MT is probably superior because it’s got better control, is more challenging, even looks better. While playing it I couldn’t believe how grainy, blocky & ugly some of the bitmaps are. San Diego, for example: suffers from some severe `cardboard` cut out graphics. These type of graphics normally render themselves when viewed from a different angles (even on older games). Not with Midnight Club 3 however. The trees, road side objects `burst` when you hit them & level of damage taken before totalling is daft. The FX are bad & loads have seams (like anywhere there’s water). Look at the road surface; it looks like some N64 game. The most important criticism though - with MD3, the emphasis seems to be on making a vehicle look pretty rather than any driving or competing gameplay. That’s a fickle feature in a driving game, way to much emphasis on it. Better budget driving games available. Think about it, they want what? $50 in your country for this crud? We have 26 copies now, 4 on the shop floor. We can’t take anymore. It’s one of those repeating trade ins.

Ok, I will tell you that you are wrong. I have only seen 2 copies of Midnight Club 3 come in to my game store (which I work at) since it came out. Most people I talk to like the game a lot.

But you say you NO longer own an xbox & have replaced it with Nintendo DS? Are you perhaps trying to hock this on ebay by any chance?
