I have had my Webley FX2000 for several months now and have mainly enjoyed the experiance. It is a very accurate gun within a wide pressure window and delivers accurate shots again and again. I have however experianced several re accuring issues. 1) The 8 shot magazine index system keeps jamming all the time, this is fixed by bending the small arm that rotates the magazine. Secondly the bolt keeps jamming when the gun is being cocked which normally looses me my kill. This is very annoying... (read more)

Just bought an FX2000 secondhand after an unsuccessful hunt a couple of weeks ago with my spring gun (webley vulcan extremely accurate in short range but very erratic after 15-20 yds) took the plunge and forked out for one of these (still very expensive even secondhand) I got a well used example as is indicated by the stock but it's supremly accurate, a nice flat trajectory, the tank doesn't lose any air and the action still feels as good as my brothers fx which has fired around 500 pellets... Had a Webley Fx2000 for about 4 years now, the best thing I have ever bought! Fitted it out with tasco world class 3-9*50, silencer and sling and never looked back. Shot many other makes and found problems with them (air arms have dodgy bolts, Weirach are heavy, and few others are overpriced), Webley is an excellent make and I've never had to replace anything on it. I've had my fx 2000 for 8 months now and i'm loving it. My confidence has shot up as i'm not missing anything within 45 to 50, the power is spot on and you get more than enough shots from one charge. Mine is a 1.77, its not the first 1.77 i've had but its by far the most accurate. I also have a logun S16 and a BSA superten but they dont see much action since buying the fx. (read more)

I have just bought myself a second hand Webley FX2000 .22. I decided to buy the FX2000 based on the good reviews you guy gave it on here (I hope you have not let me down). The first thing I did when I got it home was to put a chronoscope on it to check the power. As a kid I had several of those cheap break-barrel .177 cal. airguns like Gamo and Slavia, and you surely wouldn't hear any bird-singing around my childhood home. Back then I often imagined how awesome it would be if an air rifle could be reloaded with just a hand movement, and were powered from some sort of air reservoir. Totally agree 10/10. This great rifle has now been dropped from the Webley range due to take over. The last few can be bought .22 carbine Beech from Ramsbottom's at £329. They are still made (in Sweden) under other names. With regard to power adjustment what do you do after removing the 2mm locking grubscrew on the sidee of the barrel? I could not find any adjustment screw. Please advise.

Gerry911's Response to gerry911's Review

Written on: 04/09/2006

It is not too complicated however you do have to take the rifle to pieces. You do have to replace the hammer spring. (What is the hammer spring) When you cock the rifle using the bolt you pull back the hammer in the same way as you would with a live cartridge rifle. When the trigger is pulled the hammer then falls and strikes the primer, with the FX2000 instead of striking a primer to initiate the firing cycle it hits a small gas valve at the rear of the charge cylinder which allows a small amount of gas to escape and push the pellet out of the barrel. If you put a stiffer hammer spring into the rifle the hammer will fall faster and with more power and will let more gas travel through to power the pellet out of the barrel. Do not forget, increasing the power over 12ft/lb requires a fire arms certificate, failure to ignore this information will lead to 5 years imprisonment, yes, five years in prison for a fire arms offence.

Hi brown0
I have just got myself an FX2000. I found out how to adjust the power but have not tried yet. If you try it let us know if it works.
ADJUSTING THE POWER.
U.K. SPECIFICATION AIR RIFLES.
The mechanism of this rifle has been factory set to ensure its power falls within the current U.K. 12 ft.lbs. maximum kinetic limit allowed without possessing a firearms certificate. If you adjust the settings, always have the velocity of the rifle checked to ensure it falls within the legal limit.
Remove the magazine and fire the rifle at a safe target before adjusting the rifle.
To adjust the power, remove the stock, then remove the air transfer port restrictor lockscrew, located on the right hand side of the cylinder. Turn the restrictor screw counter- clockwise to increase the velocity and clockwise to reduce the velocity. When adjustments have been completed, apply Loctite 542 to the air transfer port restrictor lockscrew.
Although the above method should be used when possible, adjusting the compression of the hammer spring may also alter the power. With the stock removed and the bolt and trigger mechanism in their fired positions, position a suitable straight blade screwdriver down the hole in the rear
cylinder end plug and engage the screwdriver into the slot of the hammer. Engage a 3mm diam.. pin through the hole approximately 45mm ahead of the bolt slot. Turn the screwdriver until the pin drops into the hammer nose slot - this locks the hammer nose while adjustments are made. Turn the screwdriver clockwise to increase the power of your rifle, counter - clockwise to reduce its power.

I bought my Webley Fx2000 air rifle about 4 or 5 years ago secondhand, a few months later it had to be sent to Webley because the bolt was often stiff and sometimes terrible, there was also some air coming from the breech upon firing.

Hello, the main adjustment as shown in the manual is for the overall pull weight of the second stage, it's been so long since I adjusted it I can't remember if it also has an influence on the first stage.
The first stage is removable, by playing with the adjustment screws. The initial angle of the trigger can also be adjusted. Lightening the first stage is possible but more of a DIY job.

There is a diagram on the following site:
www.pyramydair.com/site/manuals/fx2000/

As for the lightest let off pressure.. I personally find the weihrauch record trigger can be set lighter (touch sensitive). Off hand I dont know the lightest pressure, due to the design it relies on having some pressure from the adjustable spring, to hold it engaged.

I bought the Webley Fx2000 second hand and I am planning to get it tweaked to FAC power, having a ball with it at the moment at the legal 12ft lb. Only concern I have found is that its prefered diet of lead is no other than Webleys Lazadomes, it does not like the shorter Lazapell or the Lazapoint pellets, as they some times foul when loaded into the breech. Any other points that can be passed on I would appreciate it. (read more)

An excellent hunting rifle, hits were you point it every single time, if you miss something with this rifle it is down to bad range finding or poor shooting. the adjusting screw is under the stock, there is a grub screw (allen key head)its a very small screw!! that is below the surface, this is the locking screw, remove this and underneath is another screw, this screw you wind out in anti clockwise to increase power, its possible to get over 30ft lb but i found its best at about 28ft lb. or go to heavier pellets, i use crossman accupell, they tend to group well at 28ftlb. much better for hunting, i popped 2 bunnies at about 60yds within 5 secs between each shot, one shot kills. you can take the head off a matchstick at 50yds every shot!! also i have a Harris bipod which works very well 8-24x42 scope and a beamshot lazer, its funny seeing crows watch the lazer on each other.
get yourself a FAC and chronograph or you could be doing 5 years in jail if caught with it overpowered. have fun

Probably! Made by Axsor, in Sweden apparantly. I was wrong about the stock though (sorry Webley), it does seem to be beech, stained, and matt varnished , giving the impression of being not beech. Knocks show, though. Get a walnut jobbie if you can find one!

Dave Gardner's Response to bluecoat's Review

Depending on how brave you feel you can actually rub down the plastic appearance of the stock and apply 6-8 coats of a special wood wax you can buy from all good gun shops and this will give your beech stock a more natural look if you don't have the bucks to fork out on a walnut stock. Just be careful when rubbing near the checkering though!

Hello-danno 541, if you cannot get the pellets to go into the mag of your fx2000, try using the point of a retractable ballpoint (nib retracted!)- you will feel when the rubber 'O' ring grabs onto the waist. I'm assuming you are using waisted pellets (a must!). If the pellets (waisted) will not stay in the mag, the rubber 'O' ring may well be past it. moop- re weight, depends on the gun you have been using before, the fx2000 is bags lighter than my old BSA Airsporter (lovely gun), but heavier than the ASI (gamo) Sniper .22 I bought (via my Father) for £14.99 when I was 15!

I used a Weihrauch HW 97 K and while
buying some pellets for this gun my
dealer showed me the Webley FX 2000.
I was sold at first sight :-)
He let me testshoot it and it felt
very light and powefull. A friend of

ordered one too.

Does anybody have any experience with
the Webley pump ?? Is it any good ?
Are there left stocks available ?

I would really recommend this Webley Fx2000 rifle!!! Its performance is excellent and better then many shooters can do. The finish of the rifle is very good and I am very satisfied with my rifle. If you bought it from a shop - assuming it was a gunshop of some sorts, they should have checked the power before they sold it.

If it was above legal limit (for licence free use in UK) they would have had to either

reduce the power

or

ensure that the purchasor ALREADY had a F.A.C.

If you are in doubt regarding the power of this gun a decent gunshop will check it for you, they might expect you to pay a few pounds for the service, but you'd then know.

Many peolpe who have used older airguns, especially if it was some time ago, can think that modern air rifles are MUCH more powerful than the ones they used years ago. They often are, and yet still fall within the legal limit of 12 ft/lbs in the UK.

The webley fx 2000 is the best air weapon i've fired so far. I'm pushin my 30s now and have shot many air guns and shotguns - this is the best one yet. I got a set of webley 6x45 and silencer then went shooting with nephews and their guns (which were a webley tomahawk and an eclipse - both good guns). The fx 2000 proved its point on every shot.

if you take the wooden butt off you will find a little hole by the trigger mechanism. Its a long thin hole that takes I think a 1mm allan key. Screw it anti clockwise about 10 full turns. That's all you have to do.

I had to hand in my brocock as I didnt want a fac licence, because I live in rented accommidation. The thing that shocked me is the police new nothing of the ban of brococks. Secondly they logged it down as lost property. I have the receipt! framed! its a bloody joke, air guns are safe in responsible hands.

Hmmm..could be just something the government are toying with, however in light of the brocock ban I guess anything is possible. I am a shotgun owner, & on last renewal was quizzed about my drinking habits, amongst other things, thank God it's only once every 5 years. So I don't want to get a FAC for my webley fx2000! The minimum sentence for owning a brocock without an FAC is 5 years - check out the Met's wesite - so reasonable to assume the same penalty will apply re any precharged airgun restrictions. Still it may never happen...

I have a Theoben Fenman and as a result enjoy and look for quality in a gun. The Webley FX2000 air rifle has far exceeded my expectations by consistantly producing 11.7 to 11.9 ft pounds over 100 shots.

My version is the carbine .22 and enables me to take down prey very easily at 30 to 35 yards. I dont shoot further on than that as I can always ensure a head shot, therefore being more humane. Targets have been knocked down at 50 yards easily.

I have the same rifle, and the moderator is superb. I wonder if it is the same one. It's very large for an airgun mod, 210mm long and 35mm diameter. It has felt inserts between the baffles, and I think this is what makes it so good - the muzzle report is very, very dulled indeed. I have tried 3 rimfire silencers on it and none come close. Apparently you can use the Webley silencer on a rimfire but you have to take the felt inserts out first.
