I've dealt with Scan for some years now, and my experience has generally been good, usually very good. They are almost always very efficient and prompt, and offer good prices. Once goods were not in stock when the web-site said they were, but they came in quite quickly and the delay was not long. Occasionally they have been slow to respond when I have had to return goods under warranty, but they have always come good in the end. They are efficient, reliable and trustworthy. (read more)

I had forgotten how bad Scan were so went with them again a little blindly but I remember now. They have taken my payment but have yet to pick the items, any of them, from their stock. This can only mean that they have cash flow problems and are trading with customers cleared funds to purchase from their suppliers. Sent some goods back which were extremely shoddy and after looking over them they decided I had damaged them myself so no refund/exchange nothing. Phoned to query this and got an argumentative idiot who tried to say because they hadn't had these products returned by anyone else there couldn't be a problem with the ones I got. However, over the last couple of months I have begun to see them in a different light. I see them more as box shifters now. Scan are terrible, sold me a second hand GPU trying to pass it off as new, when I returned it had to pay the new increased price then my HDD, PSU and Motherboard all failed within 3 months was charged £44 to have my motherboard sent back to me as it turned out my front 2 USB ports were causing the motherboard to short out which was never fixed. Always check by phone that the order you have placed over the web, they admit that the website does not refresh enough to keep a VALID reflection of their true stock level. I have been with this company for years now, and it is the same story, orders not coming out when promised. 3 out 4 orders placed over this past month have had problems with the website not being correct. Pros - Fast Dispatching Goods, pricing for most price good. Cons - If you have a faulty item, good luck, find out how to contact trading standards and contact your banking provider to do a chargeback to you card. As your never see your money returned. After being a customer of Scan for over 5 years and having many orders with them I finally needed their help. My motherboard failed within the warranty period. They didn't help. I bought a CPU mobo. Ram and heat sink not only did they not have a heat sink but they sold me one that didn't fit. When the mobo failed they are claiming it works fine even though another company have declared it dead. They clearly don't want to replace it and are asking for £20 to send it back or £15 for me to dispute the result. They claim they are going to charge me as they have my card details. This was until a few months back when all changed, and I'll never think of a part of them the same ever again. I would not recommend them to anyone for their customer service which to be bluntly honest, stinks. If anything goes wrong with a purchase I know I'm completely on my own. I bought a 500GB SSD in July 2012. In October 2012 it failed completely. I lost a lot of valuable data since my WD Passport and cloud back-ups also failed simultaneously. My first purchase at scan. I chose scan because it (1) does next day delivery, (2) has in stock the low power cpu I wanted. Other places don't have (1) or (2) or both. I ordered the items just after midnight on Monday and got the email confirmation at 00:20. I then got email status updates at about 9:22.
