I bought a sound blaster z sound card from them on 26/12/14. It arrived 30/12/14, not bad considering xmas and all. However, the sound card was faulty. To my shock I discovered that they charged £30 to RMA the card, where they did not discover the same fault as I had found/experienced. Fact is, Sales of Goods Act is quite clear, if it doesn't work for me as it should, I am entitled to a refund/replacement, & they have no right to charge £30! I bought a new PC case from them and it came with a broken fan so I messaged them on the online chat and the gave me an email to send the pictures to etc. Within 2 minutes I got an email back saying that I will receive my new fan soon. “Incompetent customer service, non functioning stock...”

Used to be good but not any more. Incompetent untrained staff at customer service. My last "urgent" order was delayed over and over due to parts not in stock, replaced by them with another parts as well not in stock. After 2 phone calls over 2 days finally dispatched but some parts selected by another operator incorrect yet again.  No reply to my complaint email, no apology, no refund of postage as promised. “Paid for next day delivery, not dispatched after two days”

In a word, unreliable. I ordered from Scan on Monday 29 because their website said that everything was in stock, and paid for next day delivery in order to receive my order for New Year. At 8pm (ie too late to order from elsewhere) the day after my order I received a no dispatch mail. Some correspondence with customer service was optimistic about shipping today (Wednesday), but again, after hours, I've received a no dispatch email. “How long to wait for stock?”

Placed an order, money taken out of account, 4 days later received email saying that item is out of stock and no idea when it will be. It is unacceptable that a company that sells computers and computer hardware does not have a decent stock system. I was recommended Scan by a family member but I have no faith in them after this encounter. I started using Scan in February 2013, and apart from an item running out of stock before it was dispatched, it was RAM and they told me to select a different one or to wait, everything was delivered on time at a fair price. Having purchased a HDD from this company and paid the £4.57 for next day delivery, I got an email a day later informing me that due to unprecedented volume in the warehouse (for that read, too many orders and not enough staff), they would be unable to deliver the next day. “They lie as easily as they breathe”

Scan are a genuinely dreadful company to deal with. They will try to wriggle out their responsibility for faulty good, and will attempt to charge you £30 for 'no fault found' If you refuse to pay, they will then claim to have suddenly found a fault - and to have returned the to the manufacturer. After many weeks the item will be returned to you with exactly the same fault present - clearly, having been sent nowhere.
