    Good Points: Short turning circle, off road capabilities


    Bad Points: Gas mileage so-so


    General comments: Good value for money. Jeep Liberty's off road capabilities are better than Honda CRV or Ford Escape, which I rented and drove off-road before. The 3.7 V6 is peppy.

    I was already familiar with the Jeep Liberty 3.7 Litre SUV from its performance in the Ram truck. Jeep chose it for the Liberty over the 4.0 in-line for its compactness (necessary for the short nose of the Liberty). Now it replaces the 4.0 in the Grand Cherokee - must be good for a lot of people!

    I was happy with my Jeep Liberty SUV for about a month when we had 2 feet of snow and it cut through it like a hot knife through butter. But when the wind started to blow, so did the Liberty. Although, the vehicle is heavy it is easily swayed by the breeze also creating a loud cabin environment. This added to the already loud drive-shaft and transfercase noise. Between 50 and 60 there is a deafening moan. Pitty any man that commutes on a side highway to work.
