On first arrival at the villa our reaction was "wow". It appeared clean, airy and nicely furnished. Outdoors were equally nice, there was a bbq, inflatable toys and lilo's for use in the pool. On closer inspection the villa could have done with a 'deep clean' the bathrooms and kitchen were spotless and the bed linen also spotless, but as I am clean freak I did notice areas that could have done with a better clean, although to be fair most people would probably not have noticed. The meaning of "Retiro do Avo" should be "Palace in the Hills". The Villa was beautiful and we had a fabulous holiday, just wished we had booked two weeks instead of one, Villa was modern and very clean and pool was a welcomed relief from hot sun, children loved it, it was really good having the childrens tv/games room. We have just returned from a week's holiday, the villa was lovely and everything we expected and a lot,lot more. It was furnished to a high standard, with lots of little extras. The pool was heated, and the garden was very well kept. The beds were the comfiest beds we had ever slept on - on holiday. The shower in the bathroom was really powerful. The Willows surpassed our expectations. The location was quiet which is what we wanted, yet only a 15 minute drive to the livelier resorts.This could put some people off if they didnt want to drive. It was clean, beautifully furnished and had plenty of home comforts. The games room was a huge hit and we spent many hours playing pool and table tennis late in to the evening. The villa we stayed in was lovely and large, so large in fact, we could have taken twice as many people at least (there were 4 of us) and it also had a pool table (and a BBQ) which kept us amused. They hired a car for us through a very dodgy car hire company in Corfu - Supercars - it broke down and we were charged €340 to fix it. Absolutely no support and we have essentially been told to get stuffed and no refund as our contract was directly with the car company although we paid James Villas for it!! Which Villa and what area was this? The company isn't reviewed on Trip Advisor (why? It should be!) so I'm finding it really difficult to decide on whether to risk it.

Hi
The villa was removed from their site the last time I looked but it was in Menorca. I would definitely visit the area again but not with them - it was not value for money at all (£5000 for 2 weeks).

I contacted your people in the UK immediately upon my return since I failed to contact your in resort staff as i mentioned in my review. My complaint was dealt with very badly and did absolutely nothing to change my opinion of the company. Thank you for the offer but I wouldn't waste any more time. I recognise that you have other good reviews but my view remains unchanged and is a true reflection of the service that we received.
