Good Points: Cheaper than BT - they always answer the phone promptly when contacting them.

    Bad Points: Customer service.

General comments: The Post Office Phone Service is very poor in providing a telephone service. Customer service is poor, they are slow on fixing line faults and I've been trying for 16 mnths to get them to stop charging me £5 per quarterly bill for a caller display I don't have. I've given up and will be switching provider shortly.

I wish i had never signed up because it is so expensive! Everything is standard and works; when I make a call I get connected. Basic service just like BT, no frills.

I arranged to switch my phone supplier from BT to the Post Office, tempted as I was by the offer of 50 quid and the irony of having a phone supply run by them 20+ years after privatisation. It was the first time I had switched suppliers, so I was a little naive as to the process. Nothing, however could prepare me for the disorganisation that followed. After a few weeks I received a welcome pack which included a "go live" date, the promise of excellent service & value and further talk of the &p ...

The whole broadband ISP market seems to be a minefield. With many people complaining about just about every company out there. From my experience alone I wouldn't advise you not to go with the post office. The post office is still a very inexperienced broadband company and seems to have lots of problems. If it works for you great but beware you may be in for a frustrating time if it doesn't quite work out. My only wish is that the regulators would start clamping down on some of these compani ...

Awful service. Had just moved house, and have no mobile. Initially, told phone would go live after 10 days. Phoned then, and they had no record of my details. Set up a new account. Waited another 10 days. Still no line, phoned to sort it out, was told it would be a further 10 days because my application was blocked for some reason. It then went live a few days later. But, they tried to charge a 110 pound connection fee, which eventually I managed to get them to take off, but then kept re ...

Been without broadband connection for three weeks now, engineer finally visited yesterday and fixed it -hmmm - I use the term 'fix' very loosely, Tried to make a call from my landline this morning and it's permanently engaged, this is because my broadband connection was activated so I phoned the customer service and was told that this is correct,. If I'm using my computer then I can't use the landline. There was me thinking the whole point of broadband was to keep the landline clear, anyway the ...

Not a good experience so far. I've been asking for help in dealing with nuisance calls for over 5 months now, and I'm finding Customer Services to be the most unhelpful I've ever come across. I'm now writing to the head office and may switch suppliers. Clear billing.

We were appalled the way the post office phone treated us,they sent no bill for us to pay, and was cut off, we both pensioners, so if my wife had heart attack no 999 to dial, no mobile., have payed, you then after wait over 24hrs to go on line. Never again.

After one year of technical problems and poor Customer services in resolving problems, I would like to share in depth this consumer experience for t here w as a lot of problems with reaching Staff. I am willing to compile a complete Customer dissatisfaction review story. Customers must be better treated than the way Businesses cheat , deceive, put off, delay, blame the pc, and collect our money, what kind of service is that when the Company wa ...

As joarnold has mentioned, The Post Office Phone Service billing department is appalling. Due to a fault in their billing service, instead of a quarterly bill, I received a bill for £129. And this month, despite the cheque for the latest bill being cashed, I received notification that the bill had not been paid. That will do for me. I'm looking for another provider. One too avoid at all costs.

Was with Post Office Home Phone for approximately 12 months and can't fault them for price. Price is one thing but in my experience their customer service really left a lot to be desired, I received two bills during my time with them, they failed to take monthly instalments and even forgot to close my account after I left, still not closed after 12 months with another provider. Now I'm left with Red Letter demands for a service I no longer have and customer service have still not finalis ...

I started with Post Office Homephone in January 2006, set up a D/D of £25 a month. I too received a first Bill for Line Rental when I hadn't had a Quarterly bill in April. I phoned PO HP to enquire as to why I had not received a Bill and was told that there was a Technical fault with my Line? I asked if anybody was coming out to sort it and was told "They are aware of it, and it will be rectified. I was still able to use my phone and got back to them after 2 weeks, had the same Answers ...

The line rental is cheaper than BT, but it is of inferior quality. Since transferring from BT, I've had nothing but problems with the quality of my line and I can't seem to dial internationally. Also, every time I ring The Post Office phone service Customer Services to try and resolve an issue - their systems are ALWAYS down, and I'm told to call back later! I've had enough of Post office phone, and I am going back to BT - after only 5 months!

My Post Office phone line has been dead for a week. I rang them up and sent them an email and letter, and I have had no reply to any. I am now going to be reconnected to BT. I got a letter this morning saying sorry you are leaving us and if I change my mind to ring them. There's no chance of that. I reported it on Tuesday and now it's Friday, and my phone line is still dead. There is nothing wrong with my phone. It was even suggested that I had not paid my bill. I am paid up until September, and ...

My main complaint with The Post Office Phone Service has been in not receiving regular bills. I received my first bill for line rental and then my second bill 3 months later, but nothing since. I called their customer services a number of times to be told a bill would be sent to me, but nothing. It has now been a year since I have had a bill, and they still can't seem to sort it out. I complained to their head office, but I received no response at all. I am now switching to a different prov ...
