“Best car I have owned...... so far!”

★★★★★

written by on 17/08/2011

I bought this car as an impulse purchase a few months ago. I was looking for a small, cheap practical car. However love at first site when I saw the 325ci at the garage. Took it for a test drive, and 24 hours later she was mine. Fuel economy is fine if you take it easy. Put your foot down and of course like any car you'll pay for it. Performance is sensational and the comfort and extra's (mine has anyway) are great. Even a bluetooth stereo for the old iPhone. Plenty of boot space which was a surprise and there is plenty of space in the rear for two adults and a child with comfort. I have had Audi's, Renaults and a Rover 75 prior to this and I think I may well be sticking to BMW from now on due to quality of the car, interior, performance and sheer good looks.

★★★★★

written by on 21/05/2010

This is possibly the best car of 2002, its sleek, leather interior indulges you with luxury, everything is electric, even the door mirrors.
The engine sound is amazing. The space in the boot is amazing and today, is great value for money and i still think it is better than the new, more frequent 3 series. It looks more luxurious and is more luxurious, and it looks very expensive and it was, but now it is'nt which is a shame. Personally thats my favourite BMW ever made, i have had the older 3 series... i think it was 1994 or something and that was great aswell. But i intend to send this car down the family as my son loves it to pieces and will have it when i retire and am unable to keep up with it. I love it so much!!!

I bought my 325Ci M Sport Coupe 2 months ago and absoloutely love it. The sound of the straight six engine is gorgeous especially when giving it the beans! The looks of the car are excellent with the clean lines, 18in MV alloys and cheeky bikini spoiler adding to the sporty feel. The interior is very well built and laid out with all controls being easily to hand. The CD 6 stack, cruise, auto dipping rear view mirror and reverse sensors are all features lacking on my previous cars and which I wouldn't like to do without again. Leather electric, heated memory seats are supportive and add to the class of the car.

Overall, a fabulous car with class and definate grin factor when the 'pedal is to the metal'! See you in lane 3!

My dad bought me a 58 BMW 325ci for my 21st birthday about a month ago and all i can say about this car is that its fabulous. The drive is luxurious and everything about it is just classy. Ive had no problems and no complants so far. Though i must say my mothers is automatic and mine manual, the manual is just something else.

Everything, I have the BMW 3 SE model, and I'm loving It....
Electric chair, fantastic, the memory on this, love it. Waiting for the mrs for some time, I press memory no.2, (I did set it so It has me laying down) Just hold the button down, and it does the job.
Drives so smooth, sits on the road nice, love driving up and down on the motorway, and petrol, it does not drink alot, was quite surprise about this actually, thought 2.5litre, that is going to drink like a fish, but I spend the same amount as when I had my last BMW 1.8.

“I've had my BMW 325Ci, manual (stick shift) since Jan...”

★★★★☆

written by 325Ci on 04/06/2008

I've had my BMW 325Ci, manual (stick shift) since Jan 2006 and I feel like a king when driving my car. It's different enough to turn heads, yet popular enough to know that I can get good resale value on it one day. Power is smooth and effortless, although it's not a rocket ship. Quality is top notch, although my CD shuttle and alternator have let me down and needed replacing.
I do very low mileage (61000 miles since new in 2002) but servicing costs are not the cheapest in town. But keeping this coupe serviced with a BMW dealer even though it's out of motorplan will ensure that my particular example is a collector's item in 30 years time. It's THAT well put together.
I have a slight whistle coming from the left door seal at speeds above 110kmh (65mph), but no water leaks in my example when it rains. I've heard some owners complain about the leaky door seal. Space at the back is surprisingly good, with 2 adults sitting comfortably without complaining about the loss of feeling in their ankles due to the tight fit!
Sliding roof open is a bit noisy, especially in traffic, so I generally use the tilt function to allow the sunshine in.
Speed bumps in suburb roads are a nightmare! The car is so low, that you need to gently roll the front wheels over the bump, otherwise the rebound will slam the bottom of the car into the speedbump. I have done this several times, so I now avoid parking lots and school zones whenever I can.
What more would I want?
More power. M3 would be nice.

★★★★★

written by on 12/01/2008

The BMW 325 Ci M Sport Coupe with all the trimmings is an absolute pleasure to drive. And despite all the car reviews I read and comments I get about how common BMWs are, you have to admit, there is a pretty obvious reason why... they're gorgeous cars and without meaning to sound pretentious or show-offish, they're a pleasure to have and to be seen in. This is my 3rd Beemer and the best of the bunch (I started with a 318i box shape in Seamist Green, followed by 325i 1992 model in Brilliant red when I lived in South Africa and now have the 325Ci Dec 2005 version in Monaco Blue in the UK). I always like BMW, but I used to be a sceptic about owning one until my brother bought one and I decided to try it out. I've been a fan ever since. Maintenance can be high when something goes wrong, but these cars are so solid and reliable that things average out and you'll probably find that it's not much more expensive than any other make of car.

I am a BMW fan for life... I'd love to be able to afford an M3 someday. For now, the 325 has established a special place in my motoring life.

Hi, excellent review. It seems as if we have followed a very similar path when it comes to BMW. I've also gone through the the E30(316), E36(328i) and E46 (325ci). Bottom line: Sheer driving pleasure.

Awesome car but expensive to maintain. They are quite reliable but when something does happen you're gonna pay for it boy. I would definitely recommend this car to someone. You can get one for a really good price if you don't get all the options. They look great and drive great. There is the negative BMW stereotype that BWM owners are YUPPIE snobs with little personality and that is why I never considered one before - I didn't want to be slotted into that stereotype but I took one for a drive at the recommendation of a friend and there is no comparison. When I first met my girlfriend of 1 year, I picked her up on our first date in the BMW and she was thinking the worst... oh no... he's one of those guys. Well, she has been driving it for a year now and I hear her say every week how much she loves driving the car. She says she feels safe because it handles so well and is so responsive plus she likes to put the peddle to the metal every once in a while which is a thrill.

I used to get bored of cars after a few months but there is no getting bored of this sweet machine!

“I doubt I can say much that is positive about the BMW...”

★★★★☆

written by degbert on 21/07/2006

I doubt I can say much that is positive about the BMW 3 Series 325 Ci Coupe that hasn't already been said, either on this site or on any other. And it's all valid. There is so much going for this car, it's almost hard to think of saying anything bad.

The drive is first rate. The handling is fabulous. The ride is very good (I had tried the M Sport suspension but decided against it, as it was far too stiff), and the SE has very good understated lines, making it a subtle but sporty thing, but just about practical enough (you can get 2 in the back, more or less).

I think mine was first off the line on a Monday or last on a Friday, as within 18 months I've lost part of the underside (an oil drip cover), the boot lift mechanism has broken, and despite 3 trips in the annoying ride, noise in the back seat can not be located. Hardly poor reliability, but when you are talking the sort of outlay you need for a Beemer, it's a surprise to have any issues at all.

I'm likely to upgrade to a 5, soon if only to get more space in the back.

I also note how impressive the new shape 3's are, and the coupe looks fabulous.

“What can I say...... I purchased my BMW 3 Series 325...”

written by moseley69 on 04/10/2004

What can I say...... I purchased my BMW 3 Series 325 Ci Coupe Sport car in 2001 and picked it up on Sept 1st. I was in awe of the machine when I sat behind the wheel. The growl of the engine as I turned the key, I new this was going to be fun!!!!

Unfortunately it took me a couple of days to actually take it for a proper spin (due to recovering from the 5 - 1 win over Germany in the football.)

I started off slowly, I decided to "Run the car in" - Altough not neccesary on today's modern engines - I just wanted to.

The car looked great, Imola red was my choice in colour and when cleaned it was a stunner. I covered the "Run in Mileage" in no time - The fun started.....

I have been every where in this car - All over the UK, Ireland, Germany and France. This is a real driving machine and licks its lips at the open roads. The best mpg I have had out of the vehicle was 34mpg - this was on the open roads in France with the kids piled into the back. I average about 26mpg when I am in the car alone....

I am looking to purchase my new vehicle now as my kids are getting bigger and its a tight squeeze in the back, unfortunately this is a difficult choice as this is a fantastic motor. Looking at the X5 3.0D sport or the Porsche Cayenne S.

★★★★★

written by Aids on 29/01/2004

I gave up my S plate Merc C200 (a nice car) and bought the BMW 325 Ci Coupe, first reg Dec 2000 in september 2001 with 8.5k miles on the clock as a "Bracknell car" ....although they dont admit it BMW like most car manufacturers "dump" or place stock into thier approved used fleet to be sold later as used vehicles (check Rydell in south wales they seem to get many of them), BMW don't need to do many of these but cars of this nature usually have a few little extras in them like the fire extingusher under the seat and a few other optional extras to make the cars attractive, mine came well priced with a complimnet of extras inc big alloys, leather, tip, 6 stack cd and a host of other bits and bobs.
I have now had the car over 2 years and a good sign of satisfaction is if it was written off tommorow I would happilly buy the same car agian, typically bought on finance I thought initially I would settle and chop the car in after 2 years for something else, I just can't justify that action after test driving other cars at the moment.... The 330 has such a small power advantage its not noticable and my dealer knows if an E46 M3 comes in at the right money / spec I am in the que like many others as this is the natural step to really notice the power upgrade. In 2 years of ownership I have covered over 55,000 miles for business and pleasure and still leave in the morning keen to drive to the office a few miles away or better still around the uk covering many hundreds of miles and getting home in the evening finding myself (slightly sad this I guess)looking over my shoulder as I walk to the front door, (naturally using the get you home lights system) pleased that I spent time with the car and thankfull for how relaxed and good I feel after such a long journey subconciously tipping my hat to and thanking the car for no questions asked performace, comfort and reliability with a cradcking sound system to boot! I used to use the company alloawance to stay out in hotels around the UK, now in the BMW I easilly justify the the drive home of a few hundered miles and the early rise and a few hundered miles the next morning. Its my time,my time to enjoy the car and gather my thoughts in an excellent environment.....then come the weekend it is an excellent family car with two kids in the back and me and the Mrs up front, its taken us happliy over to various parts of france a few times and oh how it loves those open empty motorways even with all seats occupied and cases in the boot it remains perfectly balanced, well behaved and full of passion! I cant really fault it. If you are considering buying one my advice is you wont regret it! No I dont work for BMW by the way!
