Good Points: None!
General comments: We bought a bed and Memory Foam Mattress costing £928.99 from Durham on the 30 December 2007. The bed was delivered on the 29 January 2008. After a couple of weeks we noticed the bed was very soft on one side and not on the other. We rang the shop to be told that this was normal and to give it three month. We gave it three months, the mattress was no better, in fact it was worse. We rang again and someone came out. The bloke who came out was about 5 foot and 8 stone. He lay on the bed at one side, lay on the bed at the other side and decided there was nothing wrong with it. My cat could have done that!! We sent an email to say we were still not happy and about 3 months later we have received a letter saying that "we do not feel there is a manufacturing fault with your purchase and this has been further confirmed by the technician. At this point we are unable to offer you a refund or replacement at this time. However, we do acknowledge your concerns and in our experience we are confident in the quality purchase you have made and the mattress will soften with contained use ...". I would not recommend anyone to buy from Bensons Beds and I certainly will not buy anything else from them.

We spent just under £2000 on a bed and mattress from bensons beds, Our delivery date came with no problems and we feel the quality of the bed was great. However when it came to assembling the bed frame we found that two of the fixing holes for the bed were out of line which made it impossible to fit a quarter of the lats. I contacted after-sales in Feb 08 re faulty mattress still under warranty.We heard nothing for several weeks, then I got text to confirm delivery on certain date. I have a problem with the mattress that i paid £560 for. The store that i bought it from say that complaints need to directed at customer care team. I found the customer service to be apalling, i waited on hold for an hour and a half one day. I have written to them and emailed them, as yet i have had no response. Poor experience so far, took the day off to take delivery of Regan Classic bed. Came in last half hour of time stated, both drawers broken, no fixing bolts included, contact at shop unavailable when I phoned. Mattress has a permanent dip after one night's sleep.

We ordered a bed on the 6th of Jan, it is now almost April and we do not have the bed. There seems to be no understanding or awareness of when the bed is due to be delivered, we are promised delivery only for it to be put back another week, then another week and so on. The instore staff showed a distinct lack of customer service and people skills, to the extent of "we did not return your voice mail because we dont want to deal with the grief". Needless to say we have now cancelled our order.

I would suggest going somewhere like Dreams (which has a good 40day returns policy) or places like John Lewis etc whcih are renowned for their customer service. Bensons for Beds are hopeless and I would strongly advise avoiding!

Overall, I am appalled at the service I have received. After spending a great deal of money I expected to receive satisfactory customer service.
I did not expect to be spoken to the way I did by managerial staff and as far as I am concerned under no circumstances should a member of staff hang up the telephone on a customer.
My complaint has still not been resolved I feel.

Found website fairly unhelpful but eventually placed order. Took day off to get delivery of bed. Ont he day thought I'd check to see when it would arrive only to be told "you do know only the frame is coming?" No I didn't and so put off delivery until later in the week when the mattress could also be delivered. I would stay clear of this shower! By the looks of it from previous reviews they promises to deliver items they do not have in stock after two cancelled deliveries, we were expecting new bed frame and mattress to arrive and had put old bed out in drive for uplift and it was raining. Gues what phone call that morning that they didn't have bed fram and it would take 3 weeks to get new one. Tried to pass off laminated chipboard products as solid wood.
1st bed delivered was broken and the packaging was soaked through.
2nd bed (£400 supposedly reduced from £800) totally collapsed after 2 months,refund was declined,replacement was offered with no date for delivery.

the delivery took place with my boyfriends father (aged 73 and a triple heat by pass patient) having to carry the kingsize bed with the driver, because the drivers mate refused to get out of the van because it was raining !!!!!!!!
having complained to customer service in warrington, we are very disappointed that to date we have not received a reply !!!

We were excited about our new bed, when the delivery turned up they had forgot to bring the mattress, then they said they wouldn't deliver at a weekend after i had taken the day off work to wait in for the bed delivery. The service they offer where you can type your invoice number in for an approx delivery time 24hours prior is an absolute joke!! Anyway I'm still waiting 5 days later for my mattress to turn up.

We ordered a mattress, frame and bedside tables from Bensons for Beds in July 2007. We eventually got a delivery date in September (after two cancelled dates), so we disposed of our old bed on the morning the new bed was due to arrive. Our mattress and bedside tables came, but no bed frame.
They gave us a loan frame (because we objected to their suggestion of 'just sleep on the mattress on the floor'!).

I would recommend Benson Beds to anyone. They also sell high quality mattresses some of which are only stocked by Harrods (at an extortionate price no doubt)

I got a text message and phone call to say that the new bed would arrive the next day. The old bed was taken out and thrown on the bonfire, and a half day holiday was taken to await delivery. No bed arrived from Bensons for Beds, no explanation, no help from customer services. I am now sleeping on the floor.
