“Don't be fooled by the 40 day exchange warranty”

After my husband and I purchased a Firm 5 comfort rating from Bensons for Beds we came to the conclusion after several nights lack of sleep that it was far to hard for us. We had tried it out in the store but apparently common sense should have prevailed and we should have realised that the store stock had been laid on numerous times and would be softer. “They tricked us into paying a double delivery fee=£80”

Never buying anything from them again. We bought a £600 orto mattress at Croydon store. With a house to furnish after moving and working far, we couldn't get days off for deliveries so we asked for evenings, or weekends. They said no prob just to sell the mattress. We paid £40 delivery fee. It turns out that it just covered for delivery to the store itself!! So they called to say to pay another £40 CASH in hand to delivery guy to get it home! Bensons could not have been more helpful. Bought on line as had Sealy beds for more years tha I would like to recall. This was a a Sealy Backcaare. rated by thir website reviews as wondeerful Having a severe back and hip problems Inthought when it arrived it was faulty, Ho probs Bensons picked up and exchanged How wrong I was. “So fault was eventually accepted as not mine”

Having paid £600 for a matress it developed a bulge after only 3 weeks. Bensons sent engineers who inferred it was my abuse that caused the fault. After kicking up a fuss they sent a second engineer after threat of Trading Standards and they said that bed was not fit for purpose! and after a further week having had to stay in for a third time the mattress taken back before I could return to store to get my refund. “Bensons for Beds Delivery Men ”

The day my bed was delivered it was pouring with rain and I was concerned about the new bed and my carpets getting wet or dirty. However, the delivery men went out of their way to be considerate and appreciative of my new bed, carpets and property. They were also very clean in themselves, which isn't always the case with some delivery people. “Appalling Service Keep Clear”

My wife and i have just moved house and ordered a double bed and mattress from this company at a combined price of about £700. When the bed came it had the right headboard but the wrong middle. We phoned the company up daily over about 1 week to be told that it will take a month to get the correct parts delivered and that we cannot have a refund until the parts until the bed has been collected. “Benson for beds poor customer service”

Delivered a bed and was faulty. Ordered a replacement and had to pay extra for it. Delivered new bed and didn't ask for old bed back. Half hour later came back n asked for old bed back. It was not dismantled so said they had to take my new replacement bed away again and I had to arrange a new delivery date when the old one was dismantled. Arranged new delivery with a six hour slot. Went into Yeovil branch and the service was great. All my questions were answer, nothing seemed to be to much bother, K was really helpful and polite. I ordered a double bed and mattress, and was given a timeslot and delivery day for 2 weeks later. Arrive on time with no issues. “Nice furniture, rubbish finish!”

First the day of delivery got changed due to bad weather. When my bed frame arrived I had to invest in a drill as screw holes weren't pre drilled. Then halfway through construction discovered one side of the frame wasn't built properly resulting in the frame sitting at an angle and also had a screw pre fitted through the middle of a space for a different screw. Ordered, and paid for the bed on 4th Sept.Were told bed would be delivered on 7th October, took old one out at weekend,now just been told it won't be here until 14th October!!! Daughter now lying on thin mattress on the ground. Whole purpose of buying a new bed was to help her sore back.Why were we told this date if they couldn't deliver??? First bed I ordered was damaged, took three attempts to get a bed that wasn't damaged. Second bed (ordered at the same time), delivered a double instead of a king, said I would get the correct size the following wed. I didn't relieve a text with the delivery slot so contacted bensons who apologised. apparently the notes had been put against the wrong invoice. Really sorry but can't get it to you until Friday!! We went to the local Bensons for Beds within the Harveys store in Ipswich. The sales man was very helpful. It was a quick and pain free purchase. We advised him we were looking for the firmest mattress that they do as our previous mattress had started to dip and was causing back ache for both of us. “Never ever buy showroom bedframe”

Loved the bedframe in b4b showroom,it was the last one they had so we were buying what we saw. We checked the bed, arranged the delivery through their private delivery company (as it was not in their warehouse). Firstly I had to chase them up by phone, delivery arrived later then arranged. Bedframe without any packaging, over half of the plastic slat connectors were broken, the other half was replaced by not compatible ones. Central connectors loosen and patched by sellotape!!! When we bought a new mattress for our son we spotted some lovely bedroom furniture and thought "why not" as our present lot had lasted us almost 25 years so owed us nothing. Having measured up the bedroom and the units we wanted, we placed and order for a sliding door wardrobe, 2x6 drawer chests, 1x5 drawer narrow chest and 2 bedside tables. Following on from a letter I sent to Bensons for Beds asking for some sort of compensation for being left with no furniture and all the stress they had put my wife and I through I got a phone call from their customer services team. All I got was "if you send us receipts for your phone calls we will reimburse you". No offer of compensation because we had sent the furniture back - even though they still had not given us our money back. So once more, let this be a warning to anyone wanting to buy furniture from Bensons for Beds. Have tried sending e-mails to the furniture ombudsman but don't hold out much hope for help from them, their normal route is a 16 page form to be filled in, printed out and posted to them. Would expect that to take several months to get through to whosoever might deal with it.
