Good Points: None.
General comments: Did not ring me back when they promised to.it took four phone calls from me to get my view across. They will not refund me sixty pounds deposit, because I made a genuine mistake on my application so cancelled after one day.

Please, please be very careful to check this point. If we had not been able to cancel this within the 14 days we would have lost our huge deposit of £340 and more.
They should make people aware from the outset that the learner on passing his/her test would have their premiums can increase. The new figure of £3,100 would have made this one of the most expensive quotes rather than the cheapest that it first appeared.

As the old saying goes ' you get what you pay for '¯. If one insurer is seemingly cheaper than others there has to be a good reason for it. Having done some research when looking to insure my daughter's Corsa I was seduced by the rates and took out a policy with Quinn Direct in spite of the fact that they felt 'cheap 'and the customer service levels were well short of the mark.
Having taken the policy out I then did more research and spoke to people on the subject, at which point I decided with ...

Got stung by the ridiculous increase from a provisional to full license for my partner, I have never known a company that does this and find it ridicolous that a 900 pound policy became 1800 pounds after passing her test, Quinn told me they had informed me of this in writing although I had to make them aware that we have never received any correspondance, including no insurance cert! Promptly cancelled the policy and moved to a reputable company - steer clear of them.

I got an 800cc daewoo matiz, to which quinn quoted me £571 on a provisional license (fantastic - bear in mind the average is nearly double this usually for someone of my age) after passing my test 7 months into the policy, I informed quinn, to which they requested another £360! I was an apprentice earning less than £100 a week at the time, and was shocked - after 45 minutes I was passed onto to a 'manager'. Complain logged with their overseeing company.

Given above comment I would say that great care is needed when dealing with Quinn-Direct - read everything very carefully before you commit to it. If you are insuring with them as provisional license holder, the premium will go up when you pass your test - with us it doubled my daughters premium. They don't make this at all clear when they quote the original premium.

I bought a new Yamaha 125 to commute to work and they offered the cheapest rate at a quarter of the next best insurance on one of the many websites.
16 days after I got my brand new bike it was stolen. Two days later it was recovered, badly damaged. To make things short: the new bike was GBP 2500, repairs were 1500 and they approved it within two days. Very positive experience. The only fear I have is that my premium goes up massively once I am on a full bike license.

I just had a phone call telling me that my premium is going up by £700 because I have failed to produce proof of being a named driver! even though I specifically told the person on the phone not to include my named driver status on the quote because it would be very difficult/impossible to get proof.

Having read reviews here about other people getting hit by VERY high charges when a young person with a provisional passes their test I went back to my quote and changed it from provisional to full licence and the quote for a provisional that was £751 went upto £2,025!

Quote you really competitive price for young provisional drivers but do NOT tell you that premium will increase almost 3 times when provisional young driver passes their test (my quote was £600 once my son passed his test they wanted another £889!) although it is in policy wording it is not pointed out to you at time of taking insurance out and you are paying your money.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ!!!
On November 2nd 2007 I was driving my car to work, and was insured by Quinn Direct at the time. My policy had started in August of the same year and as I had set up a direct debit with Quinn Direct, there should have been no problems with money being withdrawn from my account. Whilst driving to work I was pulled over by Police on a busy slip road and was informed that I was driving with no insurance.
I told them this was ridiculous and that I had my insurance docu ...

Quinn Direct's website suggests that their insurance is simple and straightforward, but after signing up and handing over your cash things become considerably more expensive and complicated. If you've ever flown with Ryanair and felt bitter about the ridiculous things they've dreamt up charges for, expect more of the same with Quinn Direct. It was probably hidden in the small-print somewhere, but I was given a two week deadline to provide proof of being a named driver and I have just learned th ...

Don't ever insure a provisional driver with this company:They charge a massive premium when you pass your test! (Had to pay £212 premium after 7 months of driving experience and with a Pass Plus certificate! - would have been around £400). This was on top of the £1800 I had to pay for the policy to begin with. This clearly makes the quote un-competitive if one takes into account this extra premium you have to pay - it would have been cheaper to go with the direct line quote ...

Unbelievable: male. first time driver £1800 insurance. This is what the initial monthly payments were to, let them know that i had passed my test, as you do. When i got the insurance told that it wouldn't move too much.
But wait push comes to shove and the monthly payments are to double
What a joke absolutely shocking cancelling policy straight away,

Been with Quinn-Direct Car Insurance for 2 1/2 years and will be sticking with them. A lot cheaper than everywhere else and, unlike other companies, you still get great customer service. Someone let my handbrake off and so I had to claim for damage to someone's property - the police are useless -and quinn were pleasant the whole time and after I registered the claim, they dealt with everything very quickly.

I have my factory insured with Quinn for the last 5 years and I will never move. The customer service is excellent. I have had a few claims over the years but Quinn have stood by me each time and dealt with the claim and in a timely manner. Quinn puts all other insurers to shame.
