I have been with Quinn Direct for almost a year now. The only reason I went with them was because they were cheaper for young drivers, however I was absolutely appalled by their poor service when an accident was to actually happen. It has been 3 months, where the accident was the other drivers false, with a witness on our side, and we have paid for legal cover which I have yet to see. There has been no phone calls or letters from their side to inform us of what is going on, instead we have had to keep constantly phoning them, and yet nothing is being done about it. When the car was broke down, their 'free breakdown cover' which was compulsary to be taken out with the insurance was also useless. We have yet to see their breakdown cover. We rang them, were told to fill out information before a breakdown assistance could be sent out. Having waiting hours and hours, the police which stopped to direct traffic around the very busy junction had to call another breakdown cover, costing us a large amount of money to store in their place and be moved to. A useless company when it comes to actually having an accident!

Quinn-Direct Car Insurance are the cheapest deal out there, so if you're a safe driver needing a policy just to build up a no-claims, then this could be the cheapest way to do it.
I find accents hard to understand on the phone and customer services is in Ireland. Refunds take a LONG time and they need to be chased. Been waiting over 2 months for a £1500 refund and my bank account is starting to suffer.
Price, unfortunately as the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

Seemed a reasonable company until I cancelled my policy. At first they didn ' t listen and kept my policy running when I did not need it. Then when I asked to be refunded by cheque they said I would have to wait 90 days. 1 months insurance with Quinn direct car insurance ended up costing me £147

Quinn-Direct Car Insurance is an absolute load of rubbish, was quoted £540 so excepted this by paying £122 upfront with the last payments set up via DD. First mandate form signed & sent back they said they never received. Second got to them after they agreed to extend the cover until they received the signed mandate which did 5 days later. Then received a letter saying they cancelled policy even though they had received signed mandate.
Told me they could do a new quote over the pho ...

I have been with Quinn for about 2 0r 3yrs now on the 3rd party, and have been okay - recently passed my test and called them up was given a quote for about £63 to change to comprehensive cover. I said fine to this to the new quote but shortly after I received another call form them advising that they have been able to get another cheap quote for me - which was about 80% cheaper to what I initially got - I cant fault them - I think they are excellent. Well done Quinn

I was with Quinn direct for a few years - they had brilliant customer service - ALWAYS friendly and helpful and they were one of the best prices I could find. When I wrote-off my car they were very sympathetic, professional and fast (just what you need at a very stressful time) and paid the money in full with no difficulty and very promptly - they couldn't have been better!! I am only with another company now as I share a car with my boyfriend (young male) which put the price up too high for us ...

I took out a policy with Quinn-Direct Car Insurance in March for myself and my son as a named driver. On the internet form it asked what driving exprience you have. Although at the time I had another policy with 10 years no claims there was no provision for this so the only other option applicable to me was that I was a named driver on my husband's policy so I ticked that box and the insurance taken out. Now Quinn have put my policy up as they say I cannot use the named driver experience as I ha ...

I have to say I was appalled by a quote I got from Quinn Direct today for me and my wife to insure our Focus - £1900! That is just over double what anyone else we could find would charge us - making them look very foolish and completely out of touch. Hopeless.

Quinn Direct Car Insurance were the cheapest option for my 17 year old son. They were cheaper by 1000 pound.I had to cancel the insurance and they refunded my money promptly minus a small, agreed, handling charge.

Quinn-Direct Car Insurance took payment for months without authorisation and no policy even taken out. Promises to send refund cheque everytime I ring them and ask for a supervisor. Been a year and still nothing. They are hoping I'll just let it go.How can a company operate in this manner? Shame on you Quinn.

Had an accident seven weeks ago and my claims handler and Quinn-Direct Car Insurance's head office both come up with different stories. My car was written off and has been sold to a salvage company whilst I'm still waiting for my cheque for settlement. This company are the devil themselves to deal with.

Insured my daughter through Quinn-Direct Car Insurance, TPFT on a Peugeot 106 and a provisional licence. Very competitive quote of £500 expecting the premium to increase when she passed her test. Have been paying £42 pm since January and have just been told that this will increase to £183 pm for the balance of the years premium, another 6 months. Don't think so! Same cover with Diamond and Admiral £769 for the year.Moral of the story, cheap insurance as long as you do ...

I read the reviews and got a quote for both provisional and full licence for my 20 year old daughter. The 1st was a highly competitive £385 the second was a unbelievable £3860 !!!! I phoned the company direct after the 1st quote and they said they could not give an indication of the price when my daughter passed her test.

I got a half-decent quote (I'm 27, with 5 years NCB; the quote was for a 10-year old Honda Civic 1.4). I decided to take it, but due to a small overlap with my previous insurance policy Quinn did not accept my NCB. They said that they might make an exception and accept it, and that they would phone back to let me know whether that was possible (promising that I could cancel from the day of my initial call if it wasn't); I got no call.I called back after they increased my premium and was told I ...
