Good Points: Accuracy, low recoil, easy to cock, nice trigger, consistent with a number of pellets.

Bad Points: A bit heavy for the power, no fiberoptic sight

General comments: In a way, this is a very nice rifle that has very little competition. As expected from Cometa the built quality is quite good and the accuracy is tack-driver at moderate yardage. It's a full sized and relatively heavy rifle (mine comes in at about 7 1/2 lbs - more than my model 94). The trigger on this example was a bit rough at first, but a little work (and I mean VERY LITTLE work) and some moly paste has turned it into a sweetheart. I have no doubt that it would have worn in and smoothed out pretty quickly even if I didn't do anything to it at all. POI doesn't change much with the pellet type, even at 60 yards. The safety is strictly manual, which I prefer even though it's inconsisent with the models 92 and 94.

On this model, though, Cometa (who always seemed more concerned with shooting behavior than anything else) went easy on the powerplant, and produced a gun that will easily come up short in the power wars. Mine does about 800fps or so with midweight pellets. Granted, in the real world this is pretty close to the 'magnum 1000fps' rifles that frequently go only about 10%faster than this (or less), but it doesn't give Cometa any bragging rights. On the up side, however, this means that the gun isn't harsh-shooting, it's easy to shoot well and not likely to be hard on scopes. And - as I said - realistically speaking, is anyone gonna miss that extra 80-100fps for the vast majority of their shooting? Almost certainly not.

If one goes hunting, or really needs the extra consistency that higher velocity can give you at longer ranges (especially when wind is a factor), then maybe you'd want to go with something a bit stronger. Otherwise, this is a fine rifle for almost anyone else.

RWS M93 .177 - Firstly this rifle is far more than I expected to get for the 130 dollars I payed for it at dnrsports.

As far as power goes, it puts wad cutters through quarter inch plywood at 25 yards. Plenty of power for any target shooter or hunter at that range.

I am amazed with the accuracy of this rifle. I bought an 4x daisy scope from wal-mart for 8 dollars and I can make dime sized groups at 45 feet from a standing supported position (and I am no marksman). I dont even shoot for ...
