Good Points: Torque BHP increase anonymity
Bad Points: Could have bought a DB7/Vantage 600 with same money Same Jag niggles as stock XK8/XKR
General comments: Jaguar XKR Arden Sports Car ReviewI had heard of Arden through their racing exploits over the years but never knew they did performance upgrades for customer cars. What a revelation!
The stock XKR is not a slouch but it never felt as taut as it could but some of the options available through Arden address this in spades.
The options are pricey but they are worth it. The standard BHP was around 400 but it is now nearer to 500 and torque is up as well. The exhaust has been changed to something more aggressive and the ride height lowered also. Some have said that I have taken a lot of the inherent XK soul from the car. I say pish and tish, I have created in my eyes the ultimate GT car: fast, stylish and pretty comfortable over a long distance. One word of advice though, go for the OZ Opera 20" wheels instead of the Arden ones as they are virtually identical but you will save yourself up to £500 a corner. Arden hub badges are only $20 or so.
