Good Points: economicalcheap repairsroomy interiorbig boot
Bad Points: engine is slow (I would go for 1,6)window lifters breakspasive protection ir bad (I would like to see crash tests)
General comments: Have been driving Rover 414 16v 1.4l 94' Rover for two years. It have never left me down. It is economical on 90 km/h it consumes 5,5 litres of fuel. Parts are also quite cheap for so reare car and I was surprised that it is no problem to get them in Latvia. Car is light and stearing is easy, gear change is precise. I am satisfied with this car! it is shame that there is no more Rover cars production.

I got a 1.4 96 rover 414si in December 2006 for £700 inc vat. I needed a cheap car after returning from travelling and my dad got me it through a friend who owned a business and did not need it anymore. It had 66k on the clock, alloy wheels, electronic front windows and mirrors and power steering. The head gasket had been changed.
I have had it over 2 years and it is the best car I have owned. It is very spacious, quiet and does close to 44mpg on the motorway. The ride is excellent even ...- Read ngoodearl's review (356 words)

Bought my Rover to replace a Citroen AX GTI, regretted it quickly. Wanted something bigger and more mature, but I missed the quick, sporty little AX's handling. Good car for what it is, smooth on the motorway, quiet in town, but no fun on a back road, rolls about in the corners and the dead feeling steering doesn't exactly inspire confidence. I reckon sports shockers and poly bushes would help a bit, but I'm not really keen to spend much on it. Fancy a corrado now.- Read THE Liam's review (104 words)

I went from 98 rover 200 to 96 Rover 414 16v 1.4l and was supprised how good the car is, the 1.4l 16v engine is very good in a this size of car has same bhp [103bhp standard] of most 1.6l engines and even some 1.8l engines but suffers in torque and power band but can keep up with alot of other cars, I added a K&N air filter kit a rage back box and had a race with a 1.8l 8v golf gti and just about kept up with him until about 100mph, Handerling is good with quality tires but suspension is a littl ...- Read TwinCam's review (300 words and 10 comments)
