I gave a 1 month notice to william h brown before leaving the property however, it wasn't explained to me that the 1 month notice has to be given in accordance with the monthly tenancy period. I was told I should have given notice on the 23 of the month not the 26. So because they said I was 3 days late in giving my notice I had to keep the property for an extra month, i.e. I had to pay an additional 1 month rent even though I wasn't living there any more. I did suggest paying rent for the 3 ext ...

Having had to wait weeks to view a property with them they then rang to rearrange. I eventually found somewhere else while waiting and cancelled.

As to selling my house, after being given an appointment which was some 3 weeks after contacting them they then rang to ask to change it for another one 4 weeks later. That would have meant approxiamately 2 months after initally contacting them before we even got a valuation. If they do not want or need the business then they should just say. I have ...

Looking to buy a property in Northampton through William H Brown branch there. They recommended the Wellingborough branch to contact us for a valuation on our property in Irthlingborough. Made the appointment for Friday 17 July 2009 at 11. 00 am, they did not bother to turn up. When I phoned them they said no one had put it in the diary. I phone Bairstow Eves and made an appointment with them, the manager said that this was not the first time that she had heard WHB had treated their clients ...

The William H Brown Estate Agents is staffed by the most incompetent people I have ever had to deal with in any business. They did not return calls, sent out letters that were incorrectly addressed and with enclosures missing, messages often did not get passed on said. The staff were unable to answer questions and did not know which professional association they belonged to.
After the first sale fell through they only managed to advertise the porperty once in the local paper in 4 weeks but conti ...

Following my experience of buying a property through William H Brown I feel compelled to try and spare others from the misery of doing the same.Firstly all these people are interested in is selling you a very expensive mortgage, so much so that they will even resort to threats to get what they want. For instance when I telephoned to put in an offer for a property, I was informed that " We will have to recommend to the vendor that he should not accept your offer as you are not getting your mortga ...

I have choosen William H Brown Estate Agents to burn my money. Interestingly they have to do credit check on both of us, myself and my wife. As my wife has never been to UK before, I have paid £58.xx to know a credit check cannot be done.

Poor customer service from William H Brown from the beginning when the first sale fell through the agency failed to put our house back on to the internet for 3 weeks...No reference to file of information held therefore constantly needed to keep explaining same things to individuals. Lack of updates on viewings, phoned incorrect numbers, agent said that he had left messages when we had no answerphone! Fail to do what they say to do - after pressure from agent we agreed to drop our house price tw ...

What a refreshing change to all the others we spoke to. William H Brown estate agents in Halifax were only too happy to register our details and arrange viewings on properties they were selling. Staff seemed to be genuinely interested and followed up after the viewings for our feedback. Well done.

A review of William H Brown Estate Agents - We are buying and asked to be put on mailing list for bungalows up to £250000, received so far details of £350000 bungalow and 2 houses. Had to wait a week for a viewing of empty property. They then did not even call us for feed back etc. Whilst browsing rightmove, we noticed a bungalow that was advertised and was also in Saturday property supplement, so I think it must have been on their books for at least a week, we were not aware of th ...

We had our house on the market for 11 weeks with this estate agent. We had very sporadic viewings and had to chase for updates. I don't think we were provided with any kind of marketing contract. The advertising in the local press was far from satisfactory (inaccurate wording used), and the William H Brown estate agents failed to inform us that a house identical to ours had come onto the market at £4,000 cheaper. An offer was subsequently made and accepted on that property (After 1 week o ...

I wouldn't recommend William H Brown Estate Agents to anyone! They were very particular about getting the house description correct for the initial advertising. However, the details were not accurate following a conversation with my partner. The member of staff insisted the information was correct even though I don't think it was.

Just used William H Brown Estate Agents when moving house and I have nothing but good things to say about this estate agency. I was thoroughly impressed with the level of service I received from the staff at William H Brown who helped me at every stage of my move. I didn't sell my house through them (wish I did!) but compared to the con artists I used to sell, William H Brown were a breath of fresh air and I would have no qualms about using them again in the future.
