Worst experience of my life. The particulars of my flat were appalling, full of spelling mistakes and missing words, terrible grammatical errors and key details missing. The revised particulars still contained all the original errors and took an amazing 15 days to reach me. A letter dated 29th may was not posted out until 3rd June it was a franked letter so the date it went through their franking machine can' be disputed. After a staggering 25 days of total incompetence the property never... (read more)

I just want to share my shocking experience with the estate agents Connells Crawley branch. Basically, myself and my husband viewed a property and put in an offer of the asking price. We were told by Connells that this was the price the seller wanted, they would not take a lower offer and were not interested in asking for a higher offer as they did not want to mess around, they really wanted a quick sale. Connells pressured us to try to talk to their in house financial advisor to obtain... (read more)

Connells had our property for 3 months. They did find us tenants, tenants that did not pass their background screening twice but they still wanted us to sign the tenants up. Background checks were also done at the last minute, meaning we worked to get the property ready for no reason and the tenant looking for somewhere else to live. They kept sending people who would say the property was too small as they had 2 kids etc. This despite Connells knowing it was a 2 bed property, so why were... (read more)

Now you know when an agent starts talking about a vendor in a dirogatory manner, that they will do the same about you. Just a general feeling of unprofessional and untrained agents, who just seemed to enjoy gossiping...and these people have access to some very personal data about yourself! I used their finance services as well, which means that I get to use them for free next time! Do I really want to.....not especially. Just asing simple questions seemed like too much trouble. Just... I could write a book called "How Not To Act As A Rental Agent" however Connells clearly beat me to it. As a landlord and I would say one that rents out high grade property one who treats his tenants fairly, I can only summarise Connells by stating that they are both consciously and unconsciously incompetent. DO NOT USE these amateurs. It will cost you! There are far, far better agents around. (read more)

My daughter made an offer on a house which had supposedly offering free legal fees. When she came to take them up on this they said that it did not apply as the seller had reduced the price. In there terms and conditions they clearly state that a reduction in price does not have any effect on receiving free legal fees. I am now intent on taking them to the small claims court to obtain the money. (read more)

Every viewing they arranged asked me to do the viewing. Half the people they said would view never turned up or rang into cancel. When they did have a viewing I had to chase them 4-5 times for feedback. When I fired them and went to collect my keys the girl who was dealing with my house "asked me who I was" then proceed to hand over my house keys without asking for ID. Mel was the agent I had direct knowledge of with Connells in Poole, Dorset. I found him to be extremely efficient and thoughtful throughout the purchase process. Like most other estate agents, they talk a good game, with smiles; and friendly convo... If we're honest they're one of the worst agents I've ever worked with. Do not be duped by the charm, they charge you just to make zero effort in selling your property. I cannot talk for all branches just one (Luton). Connells seem to be getting a very very bad reputation and everyone should do their homework when choosing an Estate Agent - I mistakenly just assumed they were professional but found them totally clueless, inept, couldn't spell, but they had fantastic telepathy senses (everytime I rang them thery were always just about to ring me - how wonderful is that!)
