Good Points: Good advertising. A lot of feedback on viewers opinions. Quite a good turnover of viewers to the property. Very good paper work and administration.
Bad Points: The only thing was that the fee for their service, as is the case with most agents, is based on sale price as a percentage so I think is a very high price for the work that they do.
General comments: Estate agents generally do get bad reports from people that have some complaint about the service they have received. Generally they vary from little niggles to quite serious criticisms of standards. I found my local branch of Halifax quite fair and open in all their work. I had a house that maybe was difficult to sell, though I reckoned that a modern 3 bed detached house with garage in Wiltshire would go quite quickly. It took nearly 9 months and I had to drop by £12 to £167K, well below the national average.
The staff at the Melksham branch were very helpful and showed quite a few people around the property. I had some offers and their follow up paper work was meticulous. Each time I lowered the price I had full written documents stating the new offer.
When it did eventually sell, I was abroad at the time of the hand over. They willingly dealt with the new buyer and handed over keys and took meter readings for me, and passed these on by email, and I feel that a good report is justified even though the commission took away some of the proceeds.

The average branch carries out 10-15 viewings per member of staff, per day. That generates a strict viewing timetable that must be maintained. For example, if a viewer is 15 minutes late and I wait for them, I will be late for my next appointment with the next client.
Viewers who are repeatedly late are not blacklisted. However, any member of staff is likely to excersise some caution wh ...

This is my experience with the Halifax Estate Agency (Denton Branch in Manchester) just recently.
I had booked in 2 viewing appointments on the Saturday just gone for properties on the same street, a few doors down from each other.
One appointment was at 11.30am and the other at 11.45am.
I arrived at 11.40am due to the TomTom Sat Nav losing its connection, and having to drive around for a short while before it could regain it. If I had not been driving I would normally have called to i ...
