Good Points: The grip is simply sweet to hold, the gun is easy to hold and aim. Both front and rear sights are fully adjustable, even post width on the front via a rotating post. The rear sight has a 4 way selectable blades and click adjustable. Super quite and smooth recoilless firing. Adjustable trigger. A big pitol with a nice balance and fun to shoot.
Bad Points: About 9-10 years after I bought is the front piston seal failed (turned to mush) I had not really used the gun that much and I think I might had used a petroleum base oil by accident causing it to fail. I stored it until now (2008) and just resealed it. The reseal process is a bit tricky but it is non the less will need doing eventually. Also as nice as the sights are, the rear sight could have been all metal.
General comments: I purchased my Diana 6m new back in 1991 while living in Germany. The cost back then was 473 DM, about 295 USD equivalent at that time. I had wanted this type gun for some time since I first saw the diana 10 back in the late 70's and I was not disappointed. The gun is very accurate and quite, and has reasonable power, especially when you see the 3 relatively tiny springs the are the power plant. The counter recoil mechanism is smooth, there is a sensation of firing, but there is no jump or recoil. I purchase a 30 gram barrel weight that adds a little balance and is a nice add on to the grip when cocking. Now in 2008 I am getting reacquainted my 6m having long stored the gun and just resealing it, I have to wonder why it is no longer made? No doubt this quality is simply expensive in today's market.

The Diana 6M is a entry level target air pistol, cal .177. Single shot with break barrel cocking. It has adjustable sights, a righthand grip with adjustable palmrest. The trigger is also supposed to be adjustable, but I could never figure it out.
The first thing that people notice is the shroud around the barrel that needs to be turned to allow cocking. At first this seems weird, but it works to lessen the effort needed to cock the pistol, protects the front sight, and protects the cocking ...
